If the batter ground is bad that could also cause my alt not putting out 14 volts also right ??
-
i just redid all my grounds all crimped connects all solid grounds ... i will recheck my battery ground ... what about the amp cutting out ? same thing ground problem ?
-
i have a p400-4 amp rear is running bridged at 2 ohm 200WRMS 2 p1 150WRMS each and front running 2 components, on the subs i have gain set at 3/4, punch set to about 1/4 running a 50hz tone sounded good no distortion sounded nice and clean. While playing a song when a heavy bass line starts up the amp will shut off and back on really quick.
Also i have engine noise coming from the front tweeters. the noise is through the speakers also when engine is off i have constant high pitch whine. come in when 1 RCA gets plugged in in any of the 4 inputs, one rear is plugged in noise from front. i have my capacitor grounded on the battery terminal about 12" long. the amp is grounded to the capacitor about 4" long. running 4ga Rockford fosgate wire power and ground. Power from Batt to Cap is about 12-14" long power from amp to capacitor is 4" long. The RCA's are Rockford Fosgate single twist but i don't think it is coming from the RCA's due to i can plug in the sub RCA into the Rear and noise comes in to the front. I bought the amp from best buy and it was open box so i think it might be the amp i have tried all the other possibilities. RCA's are ran away from power wires and no part of RCA is coiled in a bundle.
Any advice would be very helpful.

http://www.caraudiocraze.com/amplifiers/mono/cadence-xa-300-1-600w-mono-amplifier/prod_1068.html
so the subwoofers are 150WRMS 300 PEAK is this a good amp ?? the subs are both 1ohm SVC can these be wired to 2 OHMS ???
-
eh well for now it sounds good .... can play it for about 10 min at max until it cuts out from heat :-( even with 4 fans and it lifted so the air flows on the vents below :-( lol 30 dollars you get what you pay for i hope it sounds alot better with a good rockford fosgate 400 mono amp ... still dont know what is up with the subs still ... rockford fosgate says there p1 come in 4 and 8 ohm SVC ebay says 2ohm SVC and dmm reads 1ohm voice coil ... WHAT SUBWOOFERS ARE THESE !!!!! and i double checked the dmm with a 3ohm speaker and it reads 3 ohms .... >.<
-
yup i got it for 30 bucks and its only a replacement until i can afford a nice mono amp but will prolly also find some nice 10" subs that sound good in a .58cu/ft per chamber box because the subs i have now are some kind of rockford fosgate sub no motor cover so i have no idea what the specs are

i dont know how to tell if the amp puts out what it sais i wana say no because its a cheapo lanzar amp and i just hooked my subs up to a multimeter and the thing reads 1ohm .... i have a old rockford p1 i didnt think they made them 1ohm svc ...
-
i have an amp that is 400x2 at 4ohms 800x1 at 2 ohms could i just wire the 2 150WRMS 2ohm vc subs to run at 4ohms on one channel ?
-
thank you for the encouragement :-) its always the technical stuff that gets at me :-( jsut trying to learn how to do things the correct way starting with my own car to find out what ohm the VC is and then try to find the correct rated amp for them and be able to set it correctly ... the speakers i got didnt have a motor cover on them so there is no writing to tell me anything all i knwo is that its a rockford fosgate p1 150WRMS 300PEAK dont knwo the VC tho
-
i am good at installing and hooking things up i lack the technical skills and trouble shooting skills right now i have just started to learn this stuff for about a week now. i have built multiple boxes installed multiple HU installed speakers for friends who already had the equipments, i just lack the technical stuff ... still trying to learn it.
-
lol, yes you can, set it to ohms, and itll show you roughly what it is, if there 1ohm coils and it shows up like 5ohms its blown
where do i put the little probe things, on the vc ?
-
ok thanks and another question ... how can you use a dmm to find the ohm of your voice coil ?
-
is that bad for a speaker or does MECP recommend a tool because they are strictly by the book and safety nuts ?
-
i was reading my MECP study guide and i came across a section that says to use a polarity test tool to check speaker polarity and that it is much safer than trying to "pop" speakers with a battery... what does that mean to "pop" a speaker with a battery ?

My girlfriend is crying over some pointless shit that makes no sense.....FUCK THAT FUCK THAT FUCK THAT!!!!!!!
My girlfriend complains that i spend more time on SMD forum than i do with her .... FUCK THAT !!!

can you PLEASE tell me what songs are playing ?? those sound like AMAZING system tune/check songs and they sounds sweet
-
is it wrong that i noticed the DC sub on the bed before the girl :-/ :-D
what size is that sub ?
-
let me tell you it is not easy....for pods you going to need a quart of resin(with hardener) and then the packet of mat, body filler sandpaper and paint.....just out of top of my head.....you have to take your pod out then tape it up then put the way you want it.... and make the rings and all that bs and then glass...pretty hard but not impossible.
where can one acquire this stuff ? and that why i wana do it to learn :-) cant learn unless trial by fire
-
Fiberglass....if you have 3.5's stock leave them in the stock location.
i do not have a stock location i will be making a baffle at the bottom of the A-pillar for one i want to learn this stuff and want to learn how to make these cotom baffles i see on doors and such so i thought i would start small and also i have all low ish speakers and 2 tweeters so i think the 3 inch will do good for the whats left ... mainly i want to learn how to do that and i will start small.
Engine noise goign to drive me crazy!!

I have a strong feeling it is the battery to chassis ground what would be best place in trunk to ground it to and a good terminal to use
