I've been to flea markets looking for certain brands & they always try to bring out some cheapy amp with max power ratings all over them. They will try to sell u some "bumper" subs or something & say they r better than kicker or fosgate. I was buyin a fosgate 800.2 but they tried their best to try to sell me an amp with "more power" that I never heard of. They also seem to think raptor wire is the best too. But its fun to go sometimes and listen to their speeches on how the "bumpers" get louder and take more power than mainstream brands.
that is true i do sometimes go to places and act dumb to see what they will say ... this guy swears on the hand of god that lanzar is the mother of mothers ......

which one is the asian guy ? and i dont want a 1200 watt amp i have 2 150 watt subs and i want the Rockford fosgate to flow through my car has to match the 4 channel :-)
-
so i was at this local flea market Gibraltar trade center just checking out the local car audio places asking around for a Rockford p300-1 ... this guy there decided to tell me that, that amplifier doesn't have enough power to power my 2 p1 10s that it would get WAY to hot and that i should buy this 1200 watt amp instead .... he lost my business because i told him all i wanted was the 300-1 it pushes out more than 300 and that is RMS value he was trying to sell me a powerbass 1200 watt amp because it was MUCH BETTER than the 300-1 and that amp would OVERHEAT from the power strain ...... >.< i dislike people like this. anyone else have stories about people who think they are smarter than you and that your just an ignorant costumer ?

hooked the car up to a different amplifier and no noise ... nothing ... so it would be safe to say that the other amplifier has a problem somewhere ... could the RCA be bad on the amplifier ? and whats the usual cost to have those fixed on a Rockford fosgate p400-4?
-
grounded head unit did nothing ... and yes it is a pioneer but i get engine noise even when the head unit is not plugged into the RCA's only when plugged into the AMP so only thing going from HU to amp is the remote and i still have engine noise ... and a hiss even when the engine is off i have tried multiple grounds with capacitor without capacitor tried 4 sets of RCA's all the same thing >.< i have the HU ground upgraded and bolted to the chassis. i tried the amp grounded on capacitor capacitor is grounded on battery tried amp and capacitor grounded to chassis not battery tried capacitor grounded to battery and amp grounded to chassis all the same results ... noise coming from speakers when only the rca is plugged into the AMP. and RCA's are outside of car ...
-
im going to go crazy over this >.<!!
-
ok so what could it mean when engine is off and i took a new set of RCAs and plugged them into the amp ... when i plug them into the rear RCA's massive high pitched noise comes from the front when the RCA's are only plugged into the amp nothing on the other end ... when i touch the rca's i can make it thump ... when i plugged them into the FRONT RCA's its still there but ALOT less ... its like the channels are reversed ... plugged into rear loud noise from front plugged into fron little noise from front .... what could that mean ? The RCA's are plugged into the AMP outside of the car.

Try Grounding the RCA's to the chassis of the headunit... This could help, as well as you may have blown a resistor in the headunit. also, have you tried a different set of RCA's? maybe there is a short in the current ones... Troubleshoot these and see if anything happens. Good luck
where on the chassis ??? 2 bolts on the radio heat sinks ok ?
-
rewireing the whole car re-routing the RCA's in a different spot going to see if that does anything after that sending amp to rockford fosgate ... really think it is the amp
-
ok so as of right now i think the amp is broke .... i refixed the ground and it still makes the noise ... also what i noticed is that i have my front speakers hooked to front 2 channels and subwoofers hooked up to rear channels ... i put the front RCA into the front RCA jack and i get music coming from the front channels AND the subwoofers .... not subtle but like the subwoofer RCA's are hooked up and there NOT .... what is wrong with that picture ???!?!!!!?!?!?!??!
-
ok i will let you know how it goes tomorrow !! then i can actually start building the new box :-)
-
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ yup on the expanding foam
-
yeah even when one of the 2 RCA is plugged into the REAR channel engine noise comes from both front speakers
-
Make sure when you remove one of the bolts from the strut tower be sure to sand down the area REALLY good before putting the ground there.
i know but thank you for the help hopefully this will work >.< the noise is driving me crazy i cant even listen to music radio is off
-
can you take the amp back. someone returned it cuz it possibly had an issue and then you bought it lol
i bought it when Best buy was switching over from rockford to kicker (MEH) and it was there display one was never plugged in just bolted to the rack to show people. got it for 130 so IF it is bad then i wont feel bad putting a few bucks in it because websited MSRP is 360. I will bolt it up to my rear strut mount i also think it could be the connection on terminals, it was my first ever solder job so maybe thats bad does anyone have like 7 or 8" of 0 gauge laying around :-)))

As of right now its grounded to seat belt bolt
