theres a rocket 455 there that im probably gonna buy off him, I know it would do nice in the car, but I dont want to start a project like that on this car till next summer ^^;
my goal currently is to make her street legal ^^
well, she wont be very legal once I get all them HDC3 15s in it ;3
(me defacing a muscle car with subwoofers? Nothing you havent seen before, bigger engine gives me more power for more alts)
so, say... 2.5" pipes with Super 44s true dual w/h pipe?
Yeah that sounds like a good combo. And there's nothing wrong with subs in a musclecar... I'm putting one or two or four in mine. It just has to be tasteful IMO.I hate musclecars that have rattling trunks

Added some 17x8 inch KMC Stealths that I scored off of craigslist. I'm not sure I'm gonna like the front tire, because of the gap but we will see once the engine is back in. I also dropped the engine off at the shop Monday. I'm having the bottom end built simply because I don't have the tools to install the pistons on the rods.
Before...
After...
And since I have the original Rally wheels off now, I'm gonna take the tires off of em and sand blast em so they can be repainted. That way I'll have the option of running the stockers or KMCs.

Put an LT1 in that Gbody..

does anyone have a clue what program to use to make one?

I wouldn't go 3".. That's loud, even for my standards. I'd go 2.5" true duals all the way back from the exhaust manifolds. Flowmaster makes some nice mufflers that are real mellow in the lower RPM range but get plenty loud when you step on it. Just check out their website. Borla and Dynomax make some nice mufflers too but nothing that I've owned so I can't comment. And I wouldn't expect too much out of a 307 Olds. If anything save up and swap in a 350 Rocket engine or at least look into it. I think it'd be cheaper to make the same power in the long run.

I would just go with an aftermarket tach. Most of the time it's only 4 wire hookup. Sometimes an adaptor(never dealt with that personally) Just make sure you find the right signal wire from the engine to tachometer
-
Possibly a loose wire in the charging/starting system. I'd look over all wires, make sure they aren't frayed and that all grounds are good and tight. I just had this problem two days ago and turned out to be a bad power lead from the alternator to the starter.

Car looks good. May have missed it (and I'm too lazy to re-read) but what kind of engine? And tranny?
It's got a 350 chevy small block from '78. It's a truck block with 4 bolt mains. I have the original numbers matching engine but I don't have the money to build a pontiac engine with the power and reliability I want. The tranny is a TH350 auto with a shift kit but I want either a 2004R or convert to 5 speed manual. Thanks for all the compliments everyone

Thanks. Hopefully it will be running again in early December if everything works out. I just found the pic of the #5 piston face...

So I've had this car for years. Literally. Been working on it off and on, and driving it off and on. I'm currently building a 350 SBC for it. Already have the Comp Cams valvetrain(268H cam, 1.5 roller rockers etc etc) dual plane intake, 650CFM carb, 1800 RPM torque converter, hedman headers w/ true dual 2.5 inch exhaust. Probably going to be adding a V-Matic Hurst slap shifter and replace the Sunpro gauges with AutoMeter SportComp 2 5/8" units.
The interior(Blazer buckets replaced the worn out stockers)
The floor cut out before welding
New floor and seat pan welded in, sprayed with bed-liner coating
What the engine looked like. It was okay.
Driving down the road. I'm missing this view right now.
Well those pics above are from February of '08. I drove it like that for about 8 months until I was being a "showoff" and going about 130ish for a couple minutes and broke a ring on the #5 cylinder. I parked it from October '08 until about two months ago when I moved it to my in-laws garage to start the tear down.. again.
The first time it ran in almost a year... All I had to do was charge the battery and put a lil gas in the carburetor
At the in-laws
Tearing it down. You can see the #5 piston in this pic. It's kinda chewed up on the face
Intake manifold repainted
Got bored and tinted the windows 5%. IDK if I like it.
Building a center console. IDK if I really like it. I didn't want to do anything out of 'glass but now I'm rethinking that. We'll see once I get the shifter in.
Well as it sits now I just need to take out two transmission bolts, and remove the radiator to get it out but I'm having trouble getting anyone to come assist with muscling the hoist around and take the engine out with me but hopefully it will be out and at the machine shop before I leave for Las Vegas next Saturday.

When you download the song, are you clicking "download" or "open file" when the box pops up? You might be clicking "open" and it just plays the song from a temp folder

Does anyone know of a good FLV converter? To convert downloaded YouTube videos to MPG or AVI or WMV formats? I tried "Free FLV converter" but after converting a few vids it bugs out everytime. Free or cheap is much preferred. Thanks in advance

shits crazy yo. lightning aint no joke

I guess I'm not doing too bad
I actually had to make a couple of "Smart" playlists that contain anything I haven't listened to in over 3 months, that way I don't forget about some of it.
-
Well dont have it, U know a faster way.
No not really. You can get a Haynes manual from autozone for $15. a good investment.
Until then I guess you could try to google the car, and see if there's any forums out there that can help.
-
Check a manual for fusible link locations, and inspect all the wires between battery and ground to be sure they didn't fry and come apart making a broken circuit,
-
my caprice is the same way, subs sound really weak with windows up but loud when they're down
-
you could try this tool out.. http://www.subwoofertools.com
-
That looks real nice. I like those wheels
-
I read awhile back that when using any kind of toggle switch on the remote lead you need to have a relay in the line somewhere to keep from frying the wire to the HU

Thug Motivation 101 FTW

Thats real tight to say the least. Even w/ miles of wire it still looks super sanitary. Awesome work.

I've never given money to a panhandler. But once upon a time I went to the mall and ordered a whole pizza with my boys and we only ate half so on the way home we gave it to a panhandler. He seemed to appreciate it and about 10 minutes later i saw him sitting in the shade sharing with other bums.
