What kind of amp is it??? IMO its not a great idea to mount an amp upsidedown, in most manuals it tells you to not mount em upsidedown because then the heatsink cant do its job, since heat rises its gonna heat up the board of the amp and the bottom which has very little heat dissapation ability's...If it where me I would move it....
where? Theres really no other option... Plus that amp doesn't get hot. Isn't the heat sink screwed/bolted to the motherboard? Xbox heatsinks are and they can be placed in on the sides which really is the same as upside down. I think.

one thing i just thought of, rear decks love rattle, in my car especially 50+ hz they rattle ALOT, might want to make sure its not shakin your amp apart just double check or sum sum like that
yea wayyy ahead of ya. my rear deck and amp are secure from any rattle plus that board helps it a lot.

yea i also had it in the rear deck but it gets way to hot and people would steal it if they saw it...

Just thought id post my amp mount design. Much better then it sitting on the subwoofer box.

The new mount gives the amp more air flow and is a lot cooler. It doesn't rattle like it did when it was on the subwoofer box, looks cool too

600 maybe for a sub + amp and wires. not for mids and all that extra stuff.. You can geta good amp and a decent pair of subs for 600 and just wang on the subs till you want better ones. I would custom build the box but since this is your first system you might just wana stick witha prefab one. Is the box sealed or ported and how many cubes per chamber.

Well I ordered my 2 lvl 3 12's today! I am excited, and cannot wait to join the DC audio group. lol
It will be a big step up from my kenwoods so i am estatic.

You could pre order a SA 15 but im not the one to say if it will handle all 1200 rms but you can always wire it to 2 ohms and it will get 870 rms which it will be fine on.. any ideas guys?

We decided that hes probably guna get a AQ1200D or something like that maybe mine, probably not and pre order a SA 15 and throw some watts at it in a smaller custom box
