  1. So my Serp belt keeps slipping for weeks now, it's getting really fustrating. I've looked at so many places online some say use a bar of soap but that sounds stupid to me it will eliminate the noise but escalate the problem...

Short of ruining my bearings in the pulleys idk ....

The belt is tight but should I use a sticky belt dressing agent? Or clean the pully off with wire brush or something?

    Anybody had this problem?

  2. Results

DMM set on "min", amplifier ON car ON MIN VOLTS = 12.13 VDC

Alt output around 200 amps, belt slipping a lot so I am missing out on that extra 50 amps

any ideas?? the belt is TIGHT

voltage drop @ 300amps from rear battery to amplifier is .08v

RCA RMS voltage (AC) into amp, from line driver, 5-7. 10.3 v on a sin wave 35 hz (is this bad?)

    EDIT

vids TAKEN have to go to work to upload, so 2morow

  3. Okay, now that everything is in, time for some testing on my part.

    History:

The belt on my alternator has been slipping (the load is 4x the stock load on the belt) and I need to solve that problem.

    Today's testing will include

    1) Belt timing test, by hooking to spark plugs and usingthat strobe light timing thing to find out where it's slipping (my dad's equipment, I forgot the name)

    2) Check all engine grounds, etc. for tight connections and etc.

    3) Check voltage drop throughout all wires and make sure I don't need to upgrade to 2/0 from batt's to the amp (its about a foot only...)

    4) Use a clamp-on ampeter (sp) to test alternator output. if less than 250 (significantly) i know the belt is slipping

    5) Use my new (got it for christmas) DMM's high/low feature to check for lowest voltage at batts, and at amp while full tilting

6)Check RCA voltage and make sure both channels are equal at exactly 6 volts

    7) GET PICS AND VIDS FOR YOU GUYS
