12-16 inches of port per cubic foot all this can be figured out on the calculator you just need to punch the numbers in since you already have them.

SoHeavy can u join this tinychat and ill show u a diagram i drew and just tell me if its correct http://tinychat.com/subhelp
-
thats the diagram im getting from the12volt and that doesnt seem to be 2 negatives and 2 positives going to the amp can someone clarify honestly i got like 3 different answers...
-
So i'm going to be attempting this alone I don't want to mess anything up (will be doing it tomorrow morning before school) I disconnect my fuse and connect both pos and negative to my amplifier and the other ends to my sub and im done?
-
Now i'm confused can I or can I not? I just googled it and somebody on yahoo got the same answer as it's not possible except for .5 2 or 8 ohms...and would it even be smart for me to do? My amp 400w @ 4 ohms 800w @ 2 ohms 1200 watt @ 1.3 ohms and it says in the manual that it is 1 ohm stable so i would like to get as much power as possible
-
Nah my amp wouldn't like .5 ohms lol it was a 45$ blitz audio amp
-
How do you wire a dual 2 ohm subwoofer to an amplifier that is capable of 1 ohm stable to gain max power from the amp or is that not possible?

I'll probably find something similar here in Cali at Home Depot but thanks i'll write that down Spitifre

What exactly is the filler I would need to get for the inside to make it airtight? I saw it in one of Meade's videos where he puts it in the corners but would I be able to find all of this stuff including that filler ( i forgot what its called i'm sure it starts with an R) at Home Depot? Also, my subwoofer is a 12" MD Sound 12175 800 watts rms 1800 max (pretty sure this is underrated). And how exactly would I use the measurements given on the spec sheet to know how big/small to cut each piece of MDF? It's a bunch of confusing numbers to me :S sorry this would be my first time building a box and I would like to do it right and about the tuning of the box I read that 33 hertz is the best for daily bumping is this correct?
NOTE: I am pretty certain my amp is not giving enough power to my sub so I will probably replace that when I get the money if this makes any difference.

Hi I have a few questions but mainly I was wondering since it's so worth it to make your own custom box that I might actually do so. Now I was wondering what exactly (materials) do I need to make a good one? Also, is 33 hertz the best tuning freq. for a daily sound system (with some extra bang) i'm not into competitions and stuff like that. Also, should I raise the bass on my HU or leave it alone? My subwoofer came with a diagram about it's specifications (qts, vas-cu.ft, xmas-in., min-max box vol. -cu.ft, vented box vol-cu.ft port dimensions-in.) should I just go with those numbers or is there a better way to do it? Forgot to add, it's a 12" subwoofer if that makes any difference, thank you.

What about raising the bass on my HU? Also would it be worth to make my own box? (pretty sure I could over a weekend) what exactly would I need? The only thing I know is to buy 3/4" MDF wood. If anyone could please link me to a good guide/tutorial on how to create your own box (with proper dimensions/port size) and how to tune it to 33 hz (I want something for daily with extra bump i dont go to competitions or anything I just want loud bass) i would very much appreciate it

Alright but I figure the low pass should be around 120 no?

Sorry for the lack of info. It's a MD sound 12175 12" sub and a Blitz Audio 2400 watt amp and a pioneer headunit

Hi guys I had a few questions about my sound system. #1 is 20 hz for my sub sonic and eighty hz for my low pass a good setting? Also I was wondering if I am underpowering my sub because its rated at 800w rms and my amp is at 1200w rmx x1 channel but my sub is NOWHERE near max excursion. Also I was wondering should I ever raise the bass on my headunit or no?
Does this sound right?

Well you input your numbers that you got H,W,D into the calculator and on the right it'll tell you the proper port specs
