Right I understand, 7k should be ok on my powersupply? When I had the 1500ds voltage stayed above 14.4v with the rpms up. I can see why some people go for huge amps, they scope to 0dB so on music they never reach the full potential of the amps because music is never really recorded at 0db.

I've had it tuned to 35 and that didn't sound nice tbh... halved the port to drop the tuning to 25hz and it sounded so much smother and controlled... also played a shed load flatter and louder on the TL. Playing music... does impedance rise really matter. Power supply Is two 250a alts externally regged, with 3 d3100s going in.

How much are the 9ks in the us?

What are the 9ks like daily? Any gone pop? My distro has warned me off big amps for daily bassing.

Hummm, I see.... ill be running @ 0.7ohm so that will eek a little more power out of the 3500ds. Box is 11cuft tuned to 29hz. Oh and its walled.

6.5k seems an awful lot for a 3" coil though. Surely ill be reaching the limits of the sub with 3.5k?

They have stopped making the 4500s though?

Don't want to do bigger amps than 3500 on daily tbh, too many horror stories of them going bang.

Hi dudes and dudettes I've sold my 4 sundown 1500d's that were powering my two 18" lvl5s. I'm now going for two amps I'm going to stick with sundown, just want to know what is going to be a better suited amp amp the 3500D's or 2500D's. I'll be reconing them both to D1.4s with the wide roll surround, triple flat leads and maybe an extra spider. The system is a daily also. Cheers guys.

Don't think different chambers would be doable in my wall.... funky shaped. 4 level 5 15s and 14k it will have to be...

Arnt 5s more suited to 6th order? Do 4 level 4s, will be louder than the 5 and smd

Oh right, I see... i was thinking of the 8s for sheer WOW factor with that many subs with the amount they Wang. So what's the sort of limit before your start having issues like jared? I saw the system with 8 off that 7k amp on YouTube and it looked insane, is that why they were moving so much?

I don't have enough volume for 4 18s or else I'd do it. The sa8s will only need 14.4cube.... my two lvl 5 18s are in 11cuft, I can gain a little more volume though.

Thanks bud but shipping to the UK would be a killer. My distro will sort it all out when I decide to do it. Yea the 8s will have more cone area than 4 18s... more coils means longer cooler play time.

Hi all, Going to be aiming bigger end of next year, I'm thinking 24 sa-8s walled off 4 3500Ds.... how would this be against 4 15s on the same power?

I see. I was thinking that, the 3500D only comes with single inputs... might use them when I get my 3500s. Any machinists will be able to knock them up with a cnc right?
