  1. Wait, So Yes, I have 2 subs, 600 rms. On a 1500w amp. Giving the subs 750 each. So do I go by 600 or 750?
  2. So, I think im using this right.. Amp is 1500, Subs are 600 rms, (Sa-12) and it is going to be wired down to 1 ohm, so 600, over to 1 ohm, 24.49. However, Im gonna be giving the subs 750 rms, but does that matter at all?
  3. Hooray for Ninja'ing him?!?!?! <--Wtf? Anyway, I have not heard either of the subs yet, But I am going to order 2 of the Sa's soon, So take this with a grain of salt. From all the research I have done, and all of the reading and questioning on forums from what people have said, the Sa's are better subs by a bit, however, the R's are not far behind, and for 70 to Eighty bucks cheaper, it really makes you wonder. It all comes down to how much money you want to give up and how important good sound quality is. As some have stated in my thread, the R's get fairly loud, but get muddy in the lows, but the Sa's get a little louder, and still sound good doing it.
  4. I think he meant DMM, digital multimeter Thanks. So Something like this... http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Digital-LCD-Multimeter-Voltmeter-Ohmmeter-Ammeter-/180576653373?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a0b35103d Any idea on how to use that to set your gains?
  5. Well for me when I was looking I would go to Frys Electronics and drop a few hundred on one, use it and return it after I was done (yeah yeah i know). But I found out that I needed it more than I thought so I shopped ebay till I found a good deal on a used one. Most of the places I found that would rent them were electrical test equipment shops and they rented for just as much as some cost. Just save your $$$ and look for a good used one or new if thats your thing. If cost is the issue it will be far cheaper than killing and replacing your equipment from clipping.. I like your idea of buying, using, returning, may have to try that if thats what it comes down to. And yea, i totally agree, better to spend the money on an O Scope rather than bust a few speakers for the lack of one.
  6. Hmm, I may sound cheap here, but I don't really want to buy one, as im not that "Hardcore"...Yet. Anyway, Whats a DDM?
  7. Alright guys. Thanks, I'll go check the tools. And Im right near Fort Collins Colorado. Greeley, Loveland, Denver, Longmont are all pretty close. Edit again, None in Colorado. Oh Dear And care to enlighten me on what a DDM is?
  8. First off, These seem very necessary for having a clip free system. So, i was wondering where you guys get them? All the ones I have seen on the internet are pretty darn expensive, which I don't really want to spend if I don't have too. Do places like car toys have any or something that you can borrow? Anyone in Colorado have one that I could borrow?
  9. (again) from what i've read, the hfi series RMS figures are actually the "peak" output numbers. so divide them by 2 and you get the true figures. you get what you pay for. i'd pass on it. Oh wow. Can't believe Hf would have lowered their standards that much on this line of amps. Thanks guys, lookin like the Cadence is the best choice so far. Though the Cadence is the same price... Ha, I guess in this case you get a bit more than what you pay for?
  10. Awesome man! Same price as the Hfi and im assuming it's much better. Looks pretty good to me, Thanks.
  11. Alright cool man. Hers the one I was gonna go with. http://www.amazon.com/Hifonics-Amplifier-Designed-Heatsink-Dissipation/dp/B003PSA5BS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1292448205&sr=8-2 I mean, is it really that bad?
  12. Ya, they aren't the greatest. they over rate by about 20%. 80 Eighty Watts each isn't terrible though, better than with a 50 wrms head unit though. If you can find me a decent amp that will produce 100 4 chan at 4 ohms, the help would be much appreciated. Not looking to pay tons for something that wont make that big of a difference though. So keep it around 200.
  13. Im just gonna run with a cheap Hifonics amp for now. Not getting too serious into it right now, so the HF should do the job. 100wrms x4 chan at 4 ohms. And where did you see the rated power? Thanks, Logan
  14. I am buying some new 6.5's and 6x9's for my 05 impala and I need to know if 100 watts rms to each speaker is to much. Heres the speakers.. http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-AA2651-6-5-Inch-Speaker/dp/tech-data/B001C3P6FI/ref=de_a_smtd http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-9-Inch-Speakers-Silver/dp/tech-data/B000P0R6KW/ref=de_a_smtd And i need this set up to last for like a year or 2, so take that into consideration as well.
  15. Exactly what I thought when I first found him. I was just like, No way... Gotta love him.
  16. Touche. And ya, anyway, it's looking like im gonna go with the Sa's as soon as i can round up the money. Don't want to end this on bad terms bro, we cool?
  17. Im guessing he just got caught up in the celebrity life. Can't find the time for more videos. Ha
  18. Did I even ask which was louder? I mentioned it, but all I asked was what you would do in this situation. Anyway, I can care less. Not looking for a fight, so we good bro? Just trying to make a frugal decision to get a decent first set-up. No harm intended.
  19. yea, cuz youve been here for a long time, and already know it all Actually your right. Because here I am thinking I was dealing with mature people. Sorry for jumping to conclusions.
  20. Actually they don't really turn into fights until someone brings the supposed "Rules" up.
