  1. so what ur saying is it will still see a 1ohm load even though the coils are .7?
  2. know steve they probably are. That guy is noholds bar when it comes to systems. I think Imma just play it safe and get the MM3000.1Ds (2300x1@2ohm or 3000x1@1ohm). Get the dual 1ohm BTLs and run them on a MM each series'd up to 1.4ohms. The guy from tech support said I should get around 2600-2800rms out of it at that ohm at regular voltage. And bang dem subs like nobody's bizz.
  3. i run T4000.1bd's not bd1500's anymore .7 would work if your amp was modded but its a risky thing to do. RF looks down on modding the amps and its not cheap to repair one if it blows. Thats all i can really say about it
  4. so what are the 1.4ohm ones, the dual 2ohm? It says 1.5 ohm on their site
  5. Yea I did have that wrong, but he still told me that the amp would have to be modded. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/forums/in...x.php?action=pm
  6. Na, I asked him last night and he said he has the dual 1ohm BTLs each on a T4k "series'd" up to a 1.4ohm load. He told me "with dual 2ohm BTLs I could try it at 0.7ohm but the amp might go into protect mode on me....but try it and see what happens." lol....I was like F%#* nah man....I aint gonna be a crash dummy. I'll just get the dual 1ohm and series em up to a 1.4ohm. I can either get a T2k or a MM3000.1D like the guy from Autotek advised me the first time. Dude from, Autotek said at 1.4ohm it should give me just about all the power cuz its not that far from 1ohm and it would run more efficiently at 1.4 versus 1. I was looking at the T2ks and I can get 4 of em for about $2800. The birth sheet on the rockfords average around 2800rms. So Im guessing I could get about 2500rms out of it at 1.4ohm. Im leaning more towards the new Mean Machines cuz I know what that amp does (seen it in action) and I want to be a lil different cuz everybody has rockfords, plus it would be a lil easier to mount than the rockfords because of its shape and size. The new mm3k is linkable so its basically wire it and ur set.
  7. Are those Rockford BDs able to handle a 0.7ohm load?
  8. I was kinda leary to mounting them under the box anyway. I stay in North Carolina and one thing I can say is when it gets cold, its cold....like foreal cold. When it gets hot....oh my god its hella hot. I mean I know some of u Cali boyz will say its hot over there but trust me yall's hot aint like our type of hot. 100o in Cali heat would be like 80o in North Kak heat. We stay in heat warnings for 3 months straight this yr. Imagine it being so hot u can step outside and walk to the end of the driveway to get the mail and in less than 2mins ur sweating like u ran. The temp. gets so hot here in the summer; I remember one day I had a picture in my back pocket this girl gave me and I forgot about it. When I got ready to pull it out and show somebody, it had melted and was stuck to my jeans a lil. Yalls humidity isnt as high as ours. Imagine 100o with 80-90% humidity on a everyday basis and thats Our weather in the summer. But my point is I didnt wanna mount em under the box because of the heat in the summer that we have here and I know time I would turn em up, they would go into protect mode cuz of the extreme heat. So mounting them on the back would give me better ventilation.
  9. You're welcome. Remember, post plenty pics. :^ Hell, I dont even have a digi cam. I hope one of my Chickens will bless me this Xmas with one. If not I'll get one anyway but Imma wait to see if one of em is gonna suprise me with one first though.
  10. using 1/0 split to 2-4guage wires for the amp. The amp has a 250 amp fuse on it but it has 2-4gauge inputs so thats y Im using 1 fused 1/0 to 2-4guages for each. Yea that will look hot when I open the back and its for sus and 4 big ass amps looking at ya. thanx
  11. I know ur suppose to put the batteries as close to ur amps as possible with as short of wire as possible. But space is gonna be a issue for me. (suv) The batteries are gonna have to go between the enclosure and the back seat. So I got 2 options for mounting my sub amps. I can either put them under the box with 2-18" fans and my enclosure would then be almost 27" tall which is tall as hell. But it would have my amps about 10" away from the batteries. Or I could put them on the enclosure between the rear door and the enclosure so when u open the rear door the first thing u see is the amps (I could show em off a lil and they would get good ventilation). But with it that way the amps would be about 40" away from the batteries. Im stuck, any suggestions?
  12. What u talk'n bout? Audiobahns?......na I use to have the 2400rms Audiobahn hooked up to a pair of S12L7s(still got the subs) and it was ok but not what I thought its was gonna do. I got ride of the Audiobahn and hooked them up to 2-Orion HCCA G275 amps (1200rms x 1@1ohm and 800rms x 1 @2ohm). I hooked each up to its own L7. My S12l7s are only dual 4ohm subs so each amp was only pushing out of 2ohm and that setup was sooooo much louder than that so called 2400 rms Audiobahn that I vowed to never by another Audiobahn amp again. I think My best bet is the Orion HCCA D5000s. Iknow they'll give me around 2800rms -3k rms with no problems. (4) D5000s "brand new and shipped" for $2700; Tommy Lee cant even beat that.
  13. I feel ya but u must be talking dealer cost. Im a ebay man myself..lol. Sometimes u can catch a brand new T4k for about 1300 but they get bought up quick though so when u see it u gotta jump on it. Ive owned Audiobahns before and was "very" disappointed with them cause to me ther are OVERrated so thats out. But yea I can get 4-orions from Sonixelectronics for $2700 shipped. They are reliable cuz Ive delt with that company before. I could get 3-Orion HP2600s for the mids and highs (175x2@2ohm) which are about $350 shipped for all 3. I think I can swing that. Ive seen those 5000Ds get [email protected] even though they are rate for [email protected] so Im guessing I could get around 3k out of em @14.4v. 3k rms each on 4-BTLs is a excellent daily in my book. Im shooting for the 150+ range.
  14. Depending on wattage Im willing to spend about 1200 per amp if it will give me about 4k. I'll spend about $700 per amp if it will give me about 2800-3000rms. I can get the HCCA 5000Ds for about $680 each. I see alot of people running those and I use to have 2 of the old 275G amps and they were very strong.
  15. OK, just got off the phone with Autotek.....they told me point blank dont try it. He said I could get the dual 1 ohm BTLs, series em up to a 1.4ohm and run the new MM3000.1Ds to each. He said they havent been out that long but they are pump'n some power. So Im on the search for some 3000s havent seen any for sale yet but I aught to see sum'n soon
  16. So dual 1 ohm and series it to 4000x1@2ohm. So take one positive and hook it up to one negative on the sub and them take the other positive and hook it up to the positive on the amp and the other negative and hook it to the negative on the amp....and its 2ohm mono. right but wouldnt that still be like a 1.4 ohm load?
  17. I first thought the dual 1ohm ones and run each voice coil in its own channel but the dual 1ohm is really dual 0.7 ohm so Im a lil confused now as to which ones to get and what way I should wire them to get the most out of the amp.
  18. Can somebody help me out on firguring the best way to wire these subs to a certain amp. The amp is a MM4000.1D which is 1400rms x2 @2ohm, 2000rms x2 @1ohm, or 4000rms x1 @2ohm. I want a BTL per amp. So should I do the dual 1ohm(really dual 0.7ohm) BTL or dual 2ohm (really dual 1.5ohm) BTL. Which way would give me the most out of the amp?
  19. MM4000.1D has a 400amp fuse each and I want 4 of em so thats=1600amps of fuses MM100.4D has 100amp fuse each and I want 3 of em so thats=300amps of fuses
  20. I just thought about it the BTL dual 2ohm model is really dual 1.5 ohm.............the MM4000.1D in 2000x2@1ohm and 4000x1@2ohm. I could hook the each voice up in its own channel and the amp would do about 1800x2 cuz it would read 2x1.5ohm...hmmmmm. Id still get at the least 3600rms to each at 12.5v which aint bad at all considering that amp doesnt cost but a grand. Thanks, guys
  21. So for 1900 amps of fuses on the amps. Do u think a HC1400 up front, 5- HC2600s in the back, 4-runs of 3/0 with 4-500amp fuses and 2-Iraggi 260 or 280amp alts. Aught to get'r done for a daily? The vehicle would be on when Im playing it. (the reason for the mid size alts is for the idle amps)
  22. Yea I figured, I wanted to make sure. Cuz Ive seen guys running an amount of fuses in their runs that wasnt the same amonut that was on their amps. They probably werent getting all their power though
  23. havent decided on 4-MM4000.1Ds or just 2-MM4000.1Ds. But Imma run 4-fully loaded BTLs for sure though. Im just scrambled about 2 or 4 amps. They have 400amps fuses on them each. I was gonna run 3-MM100.4D amps for highs and mids so thats 300amps just between those 3. If I get 2 big sub amps then I'll have 1100amps of fuses, if I go all out and do 4 big sub amps then that will be 1900. I know 2 would sound good but I dont know if 2k rms each would be killa loud though. Im just weighing my options on the electrical side of things to help me make up my mind. If I get 4 amps then Id have to get the dual 2ohm BTLs which really are 1.5ohms making th amp read a 3ohm load. The amp does 4K rms x 1 @ 2ohm so at 3ohm it would run a lil more efficiently but Im sure I'll still get the power out of it cuz its underated.
