  1. What I was planning on doing was port up and subs up. So what you are saying is I should put the port up but put it on the driver side? What I mean by port on the driver's side is putting the port on the actual side of the box meaning the side that's on the driver's side of the car. That would have the subs firing up and the ports firing out the side of the box towards the driver side of the vehicle. I am willing to bet that you'll be louder with either the subs firing back and the ports up or the subs firing up and the ports to the driver's side then you would be with everything firing up. My first install in my ZX3 with 2 Nightshade 12's was both subs and port firing up. The score it did on the dash was a 145.8 off of 1800 watts. I built a new box with the subs up and ports back and did a 147.8 off the same power. The only other thing I changed other than the way the ports were firing was that I used flared ports instead of a slot port like I did in the first try with the setup. In your case I'd have to guess that loudest will be the side firing port configuration, but subs back and ports up may just sound better since the woofers have a direct wall to load off of making it so you don't hear some of the mechanical noise that they may make. Okay cool so either way will work good for the setup correct?
  2. Haha noob question but what are baffles?
  3. What I was planning on doing was port up and subs up. So what you are saying is I should put the port up but put it on the driver side?
  4. So just click on the box port upward and sub upward because the subs are going upward also. Correct?
  5. Is it supposed to chance a lot of thing or is it supposed to be the same as making anyother box with other ports? You get what ok saying?
  6. on the torres box calculator how would you make a box with the port facing up toward the roof?
  7. And I will still have enough for ft^3 for the 12's right?
  8. Well I mainly listen to rap and screw music so what would be good? And it's in a crv and I would like it to be ported.
  9. Can some one help me come up with a box for 4 sa 12's. My width is 33 my depth is 29 and my height is 27. Thanks
  10. i was just thinking of putting a rod or two down the middle of the box. would that be okay? or should i put more?
  11. when i add bracing what kind of wood would i need to use? and would i just need to put it down the middle with the subs?
  12. they ask for 1.75 and 2.25ft^3 and after bracing dont you think the box will be just right for them?
  13. How much bracing would I need to put?
  14. 2.3 c/f per sub AFTER displacement it´s perfect for a lot of 12" subs, after a few testings i can tell you that, for example, my crossfire BMF likes barely 1.75 c/f , what subs are you gonna use??? Anyways, about the distance, lots of people says that you need at least one of the measures of the port opening, for example, if you have a port 22" x 5" , then you need at least 5" from the hatch, for me this is only a myth, in A LOT of testings,i´ve found that my explorer likes the port no more than 4" away, we are talking about a 14.5 x 9 port by the way, while my swift the further the port is from the hatch the louder it is, my point is, that maybe generally speaking, you would be ok with at least 4" from hatch maybe?? I dunno About double baffle, yes you can do it, but it´s more expensive, nothing like a good old threaded rod im gonna get sa 12's and as for my port its 4.25x33 and so doubling the wood will be just as fine correct?
  15. so i was wondering is 9.2ft^3 after port enough for 4 12's and how many inches away from the hatch does the box need to be, what ive heard is no less than 3 inches. also could i just double the wood instead of bracing?
  16. Haha okay thanks. And sorry for being so difficult.
  17. I have my port facing upward so the wood in the front you feel me? Uhhhh still lost. The wood around the opening of teh port is flexing? Or the inside port walls themselves? Yes the wood around the port. I think...
  18. I have my port facing upward so the wood in the front you feel me?
  19. So double the part that flexes?
  20. Because the wood in front of the port flexes (flaps back and forth)
  21. Okay so I was wondering if I put a piece of wood as long as my port so it won't flex. Will that change the tuning frequency since I'm putting a piece of wood down the middle?
