  1. Do not buy from this guy. He scammed 2 or 3 different people on CACO I know he doesn't have enough posts to sell something any way but don't give this guy a chance

So shipping damage is scamming someone? Wow okay I'll keep that in mind. Btw I'm paying those people back. Sorry about posting a for sale thread without having 100 posts my mistake. Mods close this thread.

  2. Here are some more pics! Videos on the way and I'll get some termlab scores up once I get these puppies metered. As for right now I'm just running one in one of my old ported boxes thats 3.2 cubes tuned to 30 hz and it absolutely kills the lows! I can even do a hairtrick at 20 hz but I don't have a camera yet but it should be in sometime tomorrow and I'll post some vids. As for the sealed enclosures I'm going to get started on them tonight and see if I can get them done before Saturday when I go to get metered on the TL.

  3. Well I've finally got my stuff in for the new build. Here's what it will consist of.

    Sub stage- 2 TC 3000 15's D2

Sub Box- 2 1.5 cubic ft enclosures (The reason I want 2 is just in case I need to travel and I still want bass I can just take one sub enclosure out)

Front Stage: 1 Set of Crescendo CCX65's

Sub amplifier: Powerbass ASA1500.1dx wired down to a 0.35 ohm reactive load to give roughly 2k+ to the pair.

    Headunit: Pioneer Mvh-p8200

    Rear Battery: C&D UPS-490MR 139.5 Ah

Equalizer: Soundstream MPQ-7XO 7 band eq

Here are some pics for people who want them. I haven't started the build but will very soon since I have practically all the stuff. More pics coming very soon!

  4. im not a smart person but i dont think a recone is going to help you much with that problem...

...yes it will, if you get a new basket a recone is going to have to happen.

and to op, i'd hit up dave, because DD makes great woofers, but their customer service is probably the worst ever, it could take you a year to get a basket in. :trippy:

Man this all pisses me off I just wish the seller would help me out because I paid $250 for this sub and now I have to throw in another $100-120 which I was not looking to spend on this.

  5. Yeah like Kranny said contact DD. Another place you can use is fixmyspeaker.com... tell them what you have, what you want, and they will custom tailor you a recone.

i'd go with psi(fixmyspeaker), they've got great customer service and do a great job reconing. Just fill out the form and they'll get back at you. But just curious, you were just asking about a box for this sub? you already blow it lol? :pardon:

No I did not blow it there is a break in the basket from shipping and its kinda bad but the sub still plays I just can't crank it or else I could damage something. And before you say it yes I have contacted the seller and he never got back with me so I'm kinda screwed unless david can fix my sub without having to recone it and I live in memphis so I don't have to worry about shipping because I can just meet him. Here is a picture of the damaged sub.

  6. Nice....pretty efficient subs bro.....and the 3500 series sounds GREAT! Mis my 3518's :(

Yeah for it to get that loud off of just a computer sub amp thats extreme efficiency and its in a fairly small box so I was pretty surprised. After hearing this sub it murders the lows and everyone says that dd can't pick up the lows but thats just bullshit it actually picked up the lows even better than my re hc 15 and that sub was designed for nothing but low end.

Meh....they are just passing along what they heard....here's a vid of my 3518 playing some 27hz on 150 watts!

Man the power of DD is amazing haha :trippy:

  8. Okay right now I don't have my amp in my car so I wanted to try out my dd sub and all I had was this logitech eighty watt amp and I hooked the dd 3515e sub up to it and played I luv your girl and stepped outside and I had window flex with only eighty watts!!! holy shit!! It was barely even moving and everything in my house was shaking off of just eighty watts!! This is my first dd sub and I absolutely love it and It murders the lows in my opinion just from putting it on that power. I can't imagine what its gonna do in my car on 2k! I'm now a dd nuthugger!! :drinks:

  9. Good guy here and amazing subs to! :clapping: Those subs are absolutely amazing on the lows and get extremely loud and can handle way more than rated. here are the specs for ya carlos hope this helps with selling them :good:

    Re: 1.0 ohm

    Fs 29.7

    Qms 8.63

    Qes .42

    Qts .40

    Vas 177.6 l

    Sd 1210 cm^2

    Bl 24.4

    Xmax 21mm

1200 W RMS (should be more like 2000 watts rms LOL and that would still be an underating)

  10. if you seal the trunk, then deadening the trunk would be pointless imo since everything would be sealed from it. also, 3 db is a lot to gain in doing modifications. i'd do it regardless tho

yeah I'm gonna seal it off because that would help out the most i think and as for the psi recone if i get it done it will be a more efficient recone and it will be dual 1 ohm so i can get about a 0.7-0.9 ohm load after impedance rise and hopefully that will give me more output than being run at a 1.3-1.4 ohm load and plus the added efficiency of the recone might help. and yeah your right it wouldn't really do much if its completely sealed off from the trunk.

The recone would help you get more power into the sub, you just gotta ask yourself if its worth it to you. The recones arent exactly cheap, shipping alone is like 30 bucks, haha.

Th "Cleanest" way to do it would be an even layer of spray foam covered with sound deadening to make it look better.

Also keep in mind, dropping below 1 ohm is ALOT more demanding on your cars electrial system... I would make sure you have the big 3 done, and a second battery.

Yeah I live in memphis which is about 20 minutes away from psi's shop so I can drop off my sub with dave at psi and he told me around $120 for the recone and I have done the big 3 and I'm eventually going to get a deka 9a31 for a battery in the back then I should be golden as for keeping up with the amp. Also wouldn't spraying that foam stuff leave a huge mess if I ever want to take out my system?

  11. What are you trying to accomplish and why. From the looks of the amp adding more power will more than likely gain your pressure level.

i'd just like to get to 145 decibels (or higher if at all possible) with the amp i am currently using and the enclosure i am currently using. i do not want to upgrade my amplifier because i am really tight on cash right now and i plan on keeping this setup for a good 5-6 months because i have other things that i need to spend my money on. the reason i'm trying to accomplish this is because i want to stay in amateur street class 3 for meca events so i can possibly set some records.

  13. From what i have heard, if you seal off the sub from the trunk it will make a huge difference, actually doing it is the hard part.

I'm running an 18" nightshade in my trunk, i have not had the chance to buy and second skin yet, but i fully plan on it. I'm fairly confident it will make a big difference in the overall quality of the sound.

What would be a clean looking way to seal off the trunk that will not cost to much? Also would 2 or 3 layers of peel and seal work good for sound deadening? And do you think that the psi recone would be worth it?

  14. Okay I'm wanting to know if this would make a big difference or not. Right now I am currently running a single RE Audio HC 15 and the enclosure is firing into the cabin and the seats are flipped down most of the time. Here is a pic of the enclosure and sub Picture194.jpg

I am wanting to know weather or not I should seal off the sub and if it will make a noticeable difference in loudness also I'm wanting to know if putting 2 layers of second skin through out my whole trunk would make a noticeable difference. I would like to try and get a 3 decibel gain and if I can't get at least a 3 decibel gain from doing these 2 things then I most likely won't even bother because this is going to be a daily sub. Btw right now I am hitting a 142.3 at 42 hz sealed on the dash and I'd like to get a 145 if at all possible. Oh and one more thing does anyone think that a PSI recone will help me reach that 145?
