    R u just saying that u can't understand it to mess with me or can u really not understand it?? Cuz all I wanna find out is. How big the ports should b. Cuz I thought that with a specific size box and subs u need a specific size in ports right?? Please correct me if I'm wrong.And it's different cuz now I'm asking which box design is better and what you think looks better??

    I always hear dumb stuff about how if you wire it wrong it will make the coil rock, blah blah...

    When you wind a DVC you do it exactly the same as an SVC, you just wind on 2 coils at the same time, usually from opposite sides of the coil. So the 2 coils are wrapped around each other and essentially exactly the same as a single coil in terms of power handling and all the rest. You can even run a DVC sub on 1 coil if you want and you'll probably get ~70% of the power handling of how it is normally since the inactive coil acts as a heatsink for the driven one.

    Thanks that helped out a lot. I now understand what DVC is. And now I know this may be a dumb question but as u all prob know I'm a noob. What advantages and what r the purposes of different types of ways to wiring subs??

    ok you guys be unbelievers. ill prove you guys wrong.

    Bro if you dont know why you shouldnt por your doors and seal your sub box, then I think you should seek out someone with more knowledge of building a system and ask questions before you haul off and fuck something up.

    You seem to have a very good idea of what you want to do, but lack the know how to do it. Spend some time going through all of the different build logs here and you will learn alot. I learned my lessons the hard way and built alot of shit wrong before I learned how to do it right and it cost me a bunch of money in wire and wood. Just do your homework before you start building.

    thanks for the tip i will. this is why i post this stuff so i can learn more. thats why im asking that. like you said i got the design i just need the know how and fine tune the design. i know i learned the hard way too with my last build. i didnt know anything at all and i made small ass ports. thanks. i will look around. and now i am gonna make the big box ported and the doors gon b sealed.

    that would be pretty bad ass if you go through with it. are you planning on upgrading the front too? or did you already

    well to save money i was just planning on taking the Alpines that i have in second row and throw them on the rear doors so they match with the front, and buy new ones for the second row since i have them covered with the stock covers unlike the front. but maybe in the future i can get new Alpines. cuz these Alpines r good but r like 5 years old but still look good.

    Once you've stuck around here long enough you'll get what im saying. WE see ten posts a week with a sketchup box or a big plan like this and it never gets done. I even told trippi the same thing before he started the hummer. It just gets old to see people say one thing and do another. If you can use me saying that as motivation then by all means.

    o ok sorry for coming on to you like that. but im new here, and when i say im gon do something im gon do it. haha. :good:

    this is gonna be my future suburban build: my plans for my new build is making a custom box that looks like the pic below that will have 2 12" subs (havnt decided which, please suggest) and the doors will have 1 10" and a mid and high on each (havnt decided which mid and high, i would like to have the subs as a set).

    heres the whole break down and please comment.

    audio waves... you want them like ~ not like /`\_/`|... that was one fucked up wave it would sound horrible too, just set ur gains right and it wont happen again

    next time put them in a ported box so you can smell the coil burning right away and turn down the volume before its to late

    so they didnt get busted cuz the amp was too much for those subs?? and haha still wouldnt of worked i wasnt in the car. i was outside of it getting something when i heard it.
