ok i just purchased the hifonics brutus 1700.1
have my two dvc 2 ohm subs wired down to 2 ohm for the 1200 rms they can handle.
my rockford 500 i took out before when i my hu was turned to 15 was moving them nice.
the brutus has to have the hu turned up to like 22. is that normal?
and also the rockford said it paralleled internally. the brutus doesnt say that but the wiring diagram it came with shows exactly how i have them wired. so now im confused cause there is 2 sets of + and 2 sets of - on the amp with nothing letting me know it parallels inside.
if you understand this at all i just am trying to understand why going from 500 to 1200 its takes more volume.

the one i go to in tri state auto. its ran by one guy but his company is d and w diesel they do all the fire trucks and ambulances in Memphis i think. but he is super good at everything. thats the only one i go to i have been to audio radio and those guys over charge for everything dont have good customer service and nothing they do is ever the "right way of doing it". clean and done the way it should be, is what i mean by that. but tri state started carrying the massive brand here recently so we have been pushing that on everyone we can find

the shop i visit frequently here in town is ran buy a super cool dude he gives me his discount on anything i buy t shirts for everything he gets. that's how all shops should be. he helps me with anything i don't know or need help doing. all that he ask for in return is for me to keep handing out his cards and sending people his way lol. but yup he put mine on for 100. bought mine third party as well. awesome guy

can i say.... that's insane!!!! That would be nice to see but could be a long as build too, i've seen a 18 wheeler build.. that shit was sick...you could walk through that trailer and sit on the couch and get your chest squashed.. lol

one day when i was unloading a semi i thought about the same thing lol. was like you know you could put like 100 18s in this biatch. lol could you imagine you talk about ground pounders you would break windows at stores and stuff would be AWESOME.

Yeah that is the best place all the charging starts at the alt. The closer to the alt case the better.
well thanks i didnt even think about that... that will be super easy. may not be the shortest but its not going to be to long. maybe 1.5 feet

anywhere u could barrow a jack for a lil bit?
only person i know that has a big jack is one of my managers and he always has to work when i have a free chance. and he lives like 45 minuets away. not driving if i dont have too.

ok well the bolt i found thats connected to the headers from there to were i would ground it is like maybe a foot.
thats too close to the exhaust id be afraid it would melt

ok i understand everything enough since i have read it 4 bazillion times. but my problem is do i have to use the existing ground off the engine block? on my truck its on the bottom side and i dont have a floor jack and since i have lowered my truck when i crawl underneath it my face is like 2 inches from the control arms... no room to even see anything. but i found tonight that there is a bolt that is connected to my headers thats connected to i am guessing the arms that a shop would use to pull the engine out with. and it has an extra bolt on the end of that. could i use that instead of looking for something else? or should i not considering it is my headers and that bolt may get real nice and hot in the summer? if so then i guess i will just use my little piston jack and use some jack stands and pray i come back to say it worked. i hate using stupid piston jacks...

Shoulda got them d1 to wire them at 1 ohm. Now your gonna have to spend more on an amp when u coulda gotten one for cheaper that does rated at 1ohm instead of 2
i know but money is such a downfall for me to have this expensive hobby i only get to buy something for me like this stuff maybe twice a year. so its one thing at a time. and if i would have got them at d1 i would never have been able to install them...
I see. Well hifonics would be good I guess. Make sure u have decent electrical cuz they do like to drain power. But a nice Brutus would do the trick. They make good amps for the price man so I would look at them

depending on the vehicle and upgrading in the future you could go with a aq2200d and later add 2 more subs to have a total of 4 subs.
i would just love to have 4 subs in there and its possible. easy. but somebody would have to be giving handouts for all that to go down.

What do you think about this amp it would be 500 to each.
ha accually i am running the prime 500 right now so the end that would be good cause the bass knob is already mounted. however i dislike the prime cause at 2 ohm they run hot. and i mean like "ouch i just burnt my hand hot" and its a little expensive. i would rather lose 100 watts if the amp wont overheat and is cheaper

i am running two t3 t600.s both are d2. so i have to get an amp that can push what those can handle at 2 ohm.
the box i am using is right around 7 cub's of feet. my question is should i go under power? or meet their demands?
i have been staring this amp down
but it only is 900 watts at 2ohm. which compaired to my current set up of only 500 going to them its almost double so it will be loud.
just throw some ideas out there for me. i would like to stay around the 200-250ish price range.
thanks for your input.
p.s. i would like to have a boss knob btw. forgot to throw that in there.

ah. i just meant in general but if the gain isnt up all the way. i didnt know if you just were not suppose to turn it up all the way.

i could be mistaken but i have always lived by the rule. the bass knob is not a volume knob. i didnt think it was good to just turn it all the way up like that? i am asking not trying to be a dic#.
