Ok. So what if I just stop being lazy and run a run of my 0gauge back there. How will that do for an amp choice? I really didn't want to add a second bat. Which is why I was really only thinking about some 600 watt subs at first. 1200 would be great for that price if I can run em though
-
I would save a little more and get this amp
it doesnt say what this runs at 2 ohm and that its ok to use 4 gauge with it. i just would hate to underpower the amp.
-
im going to purchase a pair of skar vvx-12 d2 subs here shortly and am having trouble with an amp to go with them.
i dont want to spend more than $350. i thought about going for the dual 4 and dropping them down to 1 ohm but that puts stress on an amp that i dont really want to do. and i only have a four gauge power wire ran to the back.
i was looking at getting http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_79515_Soundstream-TA1.2000D.html but have been reading those arent good amps.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks...jon

um 4/0 and 4 gauge are a world apart.
make one or have toolmaker or geoff make one.
whoith are deez people? i need a bus bar either made or purchased.
do they make em cheap or do i need to go and sell a few diamonds to pay these people?

You don't have to cover the panels if money is an issue but for sure the damp pro on all metal that can be reached would make a world of difference. Lux liner is great but for it to be 100 percent affective you need 100% coverage. Not like damp pro. I have a door pack of damp pro and pack of alpha and it's night and day difference in the way it sounds. No exhaust drone and not nearly as much road noise

i personally do the bedliner. the stuff from o riellys is hard but its soft at the same time lol
the surround of the subs always kinda melt to the stuff so it creates a super air tight box

He did say he was replacing the floor pan.
But just wip out the old tape measure and do it that way. A foot times a foot.

a few months back second skin held the facebook like this picture contest. i just so happen to win a pack of the alpha damp when they had it, i know they dont sell it anymore but its still an amazing prodcut and second skin as a company can NOT be beaten.
so here is my review
i previusly had a door pack worth of second skin inside my truck already, on the three doors and the back wall of my truck.
i pulled everything out and layered the floor and roof with the alpha damp it made such a HUGE difference its almost unbelievable...
i will forever and always try and sell and push the second skin product to anybody no matter the situation. even in toolboxes or on ac units inside the house.
i started by just taking pictures and was going to post them, but after looking through them it seemed like it needed a little extra so i threw together a little clip...
its my first time making one of these so please excuse the badness of it.
and also sorry for not being able to just have the video here... not sure what to do about it

Hey everybody.. Was just getting ready to order 20 sq ft of damp pro for $135 shipped and then thought..or get 40 sq ft of damplifier for $155? Pros and cons if anybody could help me. Would really appreciate it. Also, will be pushin 2 Sa 15s on a Soundstream TX1.2000D if that helps and want to reduce rattles as much as possible
go with what you can afford. nothing you buy from them will be bad.
the damp pro is some amazing stuff though. one door kit covered 3 of my doors and almost the entire back wall of my truck and maybe 3/4 of my fourth door thing :|

fans hooked up to relay. Relay hooked up to battery. Relay triggered with remote wire or temperature sensor (like i am going to use). Do NOT run the fan directly off the remote. Use a relay. You can even use a toggle switch if you want but i don't recommend that.
why is this? i have always thought about connecting a switch to the remote before it gets to the relay. just to give me control of everything...

You don't need but maybe 40 percent of sound damp. The luxury liner would require 100%. But yeah. Just the sound damp would help a lot
-
Looks like 30 for damp pro and 32 for just te normal damp.
-
The damp just makes the vibrations go away the noise can be killed with luxury liner. And that has to be 100% coverage in order to make a barrier.
-
But with ss there isn't need for multiple layers. One layer would work a door pack of damp pro did my 2.5 doors and the back wall of my truck. Alpha damp would easily do the roof of yours. Have you seen that video or the 15s vs alpha damp? And remeber 100 percent coverage isn't required.

Yeah. It sticks so well you can almost just clean it with a dry rag. Lol. But I use rubbing alcohol as well. Works fine for me.
-
When you do decide to dp a system i see some 8s deals in your future! Keep it clean man.
i was thinking 10s. lol
i like deep sound 15s usually. so10s would do me good.
but yeah i didnt bother to much to clean my truck. but im cleaning this dude all the time

Nifty little cars. What kinda mileage?
i get 36 usually city and highway ranges from 40-43. so i cant complain.
ony has a 10 or 11 gallon tank too. so 35 fills it up usually.

so back in early feb i decided to look into getting a new car. im partial to fords so i started looking at the cars. i have a truck so thats no concern i wanted a gas saver/ family thing my wife can drive...(i refuse to teach her how to drive my truck since its a stick) but i looked at the focus first and then the fiesta grabbed my attention. after some looking and test driving i went with this one
now my first thing on my to do list. was to rid of the hubcaps... i refuse to drive on them... so i started looking and found these on tire rack
only spent 440 on them total. thats with the needed tire pressure thing.
some installed pics
and then for my last thing for a while. was window tint. its to nice to not have... went with 15% with just the brow on the front
it turned out to be the same darkness of my truck. i had no idea what it was...
the next thing ima do is put some 8k HIDs in. both high and low beams since they all are on when highs on turned on.
now the down side to these cars... they have very small truck areas. the honda fit has way way more than this thing. but seeing as its brand new everything is still under warrantee for a while to come so im not putting a system in it (for now) gives me some time with my truck to mess with it some more.

I got word from my local shop that he is just waiting on your reply to start carrying your line down here in Southaven ms. Which is just under Memphis tn which has no sundown dealer. I would like to be his first customer off this brand cause I try and support his shop as much as possible.
Just trying to help a brother out.
