  1. What color is the ignition wire ? Red orange or black? I don't have acces to a computer right now
  2. It says it does so I spliced the blue wire and connected the remote. But there are two different blue wires ones blue and one is darker blue
  3. Ok so I'm wiring my friends chevelle up for a sub. I have it all hooked up but the amp won't turn on. The amp is a kenwood kac8104. Is there something specail you have to do for these older cars? His headunit is an custom autosound usa230 I need some major help please
  4. I made the 5.25s for the front with a little sanding here and there, the back 6.5s on the other hand was a whole new story. Couldn't take the whole deck off and the speaker covers didn't come off either(until we cut the plastic connector poles with tin snips) then the basket was a little big for the mounting bracket so had to dremel some plastic. After getting it all wired up it sounded amazing much better then the stocks(which had the whole surrounds missing and paper cones dissovled). Hopefully we can get them amped for their full potential. Btw it was a great/cheap upgrade from stock. Played some long beach dub kings and the vocals and highs were nice and crisp!
  5. Ended up buy a set of new alpine spe6000 and a set of new alpine spe5000 for 95 bucks
  6. You shouldnt say you have your bass knob on full. Just and fyi, bad idea to say that
  7. Ok so my construction technology teacher wants me to install some speakers in his 95 prizm, he has a jvc headunit that is 50x1 and 20x1wrms..he wants his back speakers done first cuz they are crackly. The deck speakers are 6.25. He doesn't want them amped, just ran off the hu. His budget is about >$50> for the back set and is looking for something he can pick up at a best buy or frys nothing to crazy just something that will be a little upgrade from stock Any help is appreciated thanks!
  8. my bad i was on my phone when i replied but i meant to put 1 ohm load
  9. I got them wired to 2 ohms already but yeah I don't know how to set the gains and subsonic/low pass/phase/bass eq? The box is 1.4 cuft after all displacment (yeah I know a little big)
  10. So I went down an bought my subs and an amp. I went with the brutus 2100 to run good power more steadily...I'm just confused on how to tune it and hook up the subs not very happy right now. Like I got them hooked up and playing but its not what I was expecting, I was expecting more out of them...if I'm running 2 sex d4s do I have to use all 4 pos/neg terminals? And how should I tune it? This is really my first time setting it all up :/
  11. Well I was planning on running them at 2ohms which would be 1400wrms and if I did my math right after taking off 20% of the over rated power they throw on it should be around 1120wrms? And I can't get audioque because I have to go through a shop because my dad is paying for it and he wants the warranty and he's old school and doesn't like the whole buying off the internet thing....if you want the shop I'm buying it from is called advanced audio creations in garden grove california and theyhave a website with the products they sell and you could check on there to see what else you might better suggest...sorry I'm on mobile so I can't really post a link to it :/
  12. Its either the brutus 1700 or 2100 I'm thinking if I go with a hifonics amp ill get the 2100 to be a little closer to the actual rated power the subs need
  13. so I'm going from 1 powerbass 2xl 12 sealed powered by a kenwood kac 8104d to 2 re sex 10s sealed possibly powered by a hifonics 1600(after reading about the 20% overrated power I'm skeptical) my question is...am I going to see a big difference in amount of bass between the 2 setups? This is all going in an f250, with stock electrical for now besides a bigger battery up front, soon to get another battery and ho alternater. The box is 1.35cuft give or take a .ox replacing my center console/seat subs are 1 firing down and 1 firing back
  14. So today I finished my box and started the fiberglass, I think so far it is coming along good. The fiberglass was easy and fun to do. Looking forward to do more 2maro. but like you guys said, it was messy as hell and got me feeling good quick. If I get off my phone and find time to post pics of the outcome then I will. Personally I think it looks good so far and I defiantly think it looks good for a first time. Thanks for all the help and hints on doing it! Only thing you didn't tell me was that it melts through plastic cups! lol found that out the hard way
  15. ok so fiberglass the kerfs. sounds good hopefully this comes out good and works well
  16. Ok sweet for the info. I bought all the stuff tonight so I'm hoping to start 2maro! One question is, I made kerf cuts for the bend of my box how should I fiberglass that? Like resin the kerfs then fiberglass over the filled kerfs?
  17. Ok so this week I'm gonna be starting some fiberglass on my box. My question is, would it be better to do it in normal room temperature shop or in an air blowed paint room (doing this at school in my construction class)? Or outside? I live in OC, cali so the temp is kind warmish I guess... this will be my first time fiberglassing so any hints would be helpful to! Thank you
  18. Isn't he the guy that rapped about charlie chean(sp?)^^^^
  19. I got measurments but because of how the back seat goes back I can't get a top depth measurment...so its 60wide 18tall and a bottom depth of 9 inches
  20. I would really like to put 2 subwoofers back there...so if I have to go down to 10s then ill do that
  21. I like spl I like it loud...I've built boxes before just not on like this.. And if you could help me with a box design that would be so helpful.. I just want it louder then my powerbass 2xl12 running offmy kenwood kac8104 at 500wrms@2ohms
