  1. Too add onto that....

The thing is Multi-player capability controls the gaming realm today. As internet just gets bigger, more and more games are leaning towards partial or full online gameplay. So, like I said, GW3 is going to have a great Solo and Co-OP campaign, but the multi-player is what the average consumer looks at. This is the reason the RPG genre has fallen off of the map (Excluding handhelds).

  2. Gears was always an EPIC (Pun?) campaign. But, the multi-player never really held up.

As far as the MW and BF series, the reason they keep a lot of their multi-player setups the same, is because they have been proven to be effective and accepted for the professional gaming realm. Why take the risk of changing it, and making something that no one wants to play? Just update your graphics engines, make your guns shinier, and let the "Dogs Out" (Another Pun?).... I was never a BF2 fan, but with the new engine being used in BF3, it looks like gameplay is speeding up a bit. I certainly think I am leaning towards it.

Now, GW3 is going to be a great game, and have a good fan-base. But really... how many effective multi-player games have been 2nd person (over the shoulder) view? I think I can almost safely say ZERO without doing research. So, this gives GW3 a niche that helps them keep some fans, but it also pushes a lot of fanbase away.

  3. Great tool tony steve and juan.

Im happy when someone that understands takes a tool by the fukkin balls and just gets it right.

Tony and juan already have 2 of my amps there, feel free to run them through their paces.

Add the time to my bill

And you can guarn gawd damn tee that tool will be in my shop the day i can order 1.

    Keep it up guys.

Ray treats SMD products like a Harry Potter premier... Waiting in line for a week just to get a sneak peek. pardon.gif

Great idea, great looking product. I think the one the best things about these products, they not only work, they are pretty simple to use. So, even if a hardcore enthusiast without a shop could justify the cost of it, he could get one and use it as well.

I have just started studying Electrical Engineering and I have previous schooling in Software Development, and can say, just thinking about what it would take to design things like this... Way beyond my mental capacity.

  4. its all about surface area my friends

I have to agree but also if its soldered.

i have a question is solder bad for connections bc its not as conductive as copper right?

Solder is actually helpful, in the fact that it inhibits corrosion, and it does increase surface area. If you put a "generous" amount of solder on a connection, it will get between the strands of your wire, thus actually helping reduce resistance at the connector because you will have more of a pure, solid connection. And, most solder is highly conductive.

  5. couldn't you buy an insulated tube to put it in like the ones you run electricty through the ground with?

I assume you could, but again, solid 1/0 practically requires a pipe bender to get it around corners. It just isn't practical to run it long distances through the interior of a car. I was trying out a spool of it in Home Depot one day as I was pretty curious about the same thing. Home Depot had it for just over $1/ft, so I was playing with on the spool. I couldn't even get it do a 90 degree bend with my hands. There was no way I was going to take the time to try and really run it through a firewall and under some carpet.

could you run it in combo with the reg 0ga we use for the bends u need?

edit: or would that defeat the purpose?

That would start to defeat the purpose. Another thing to be looked at is that with every connection you make (soldered or not) you pick up a small amount of resistance. So, with the number of cuts and joints you would need to make you may end up building up more resistance than it would be worth.

  6. Everyone should pay the same rate PERIOD! No loopholes, no deductions. I don't care if you make 5 thousand or 5 million dollars a year, you should pay the same percentage. I'm sick of people who get way more tax refund than they paid in too.

    Dismantle the IRS.

This one I agree with, if the tax bracket was a flat-rate across the board, no one could complain. Because you already understand the more you make the more you put in.

The biggest problem I have noticed from the financial debates and shows I have seen; the rich have the finances to hire people (Accountants, Lawyers, Off-share banks, etc..) to move money around, and find huge tax loop holes. Raising it ins't going to help... They will just loop around that too. What we really ought to be doing is forcing American based companies (I.E. - Apple) who outsource all of their manufacturing and labor to other countries to pay extra taxes. Because if all those companies were still based in America, we wouldn't have the unemployment we do today.

I understand it is all about business, and the companies go where the cheap labor is, but it hurts.

Also, INFLATION SUCKS! I haven't understood why a lot of people don't understand that raising minimum wage hurts the entire economy. By giving "Kenny Mclaughin" (This name is made up), an high-school sophomore, $8.00/hr to work part time at McDonald's you are hurting me. Does he deserve to make just shy of what an introductory Electronics Repairman does (10/hr)? NO... He flips burgers, and an E-repair solders microcircuits to a board. It is just isn't equal. And raising wages, raises prices. Unions don't understand it either...

I need to get off of this soap box, before I get myself in a hole way to deep....

  8. People don't generally consider solid copper rod as a "wire", so in terms of "wire" strand count only affects flexibility.

As one had mentioned before, Surface area and Resistance matters most. In a solid copper rod, you will get less resistance, but you can't run it entirely through a car. it just isn't practical.

Personally, less wire strand is better for resistance purposes, but don't excuse bad quality for low strand count. Some manufacturers way OVER RATE their wire size buy having thicker jackets. The strand count may be high, but the actual wire thickness would be overall low.

If I could do it, I would run 1/0 solid through my car, but no car audio manufacturers make it, and the wire you can purchase in that size is designed for home/commercial/industrial electrical use, and doesn't have a jacket designed to sustain the harsh external environments an engine bay and undercarriage see on a daily basis.

  9. E-dates don't usually last. I met a few girls online. After a few nights of dinner and fun; that is all it ever became. As you get older, the flashbacks never go away. I had dated a "few" women in my life, and you always think about the great times every now and again. The problem is the brain usually forgets all of the bad crap you had to put up with in between those few good times.

Like my wife now, I can't remember 90% of the things we have ever argued about, but I do know that 90% of the marriage is great. Honestly, people don't change unless they are absolutely forced to, and then even when that force goes away, they usually go back to the way they were. So, chances are, if you got in a lot of fights before, you will again...

  10. When i look at the pic he posted, i see a battery that has been boiling over.

I would replace the battery first thing.

Then look into a ho alt

    But that battery is done

Good look Ray, and great point. I did make that mistake. I let a battery run itself to death and literally exploded while I was going down the road one day. Since the vehicle was my daily driver, I hadn't even opened the hood in many months. It had one of the caps come loose and was leaking out the top. Basically, dried up and one of the cells went Kaboom!... Exploded right out the side of it. Luckily, didn't damage anything else in the car. Just the leaking acid took some engine bay paint with it.

Regardless of the alternator choice, some form of replacement should be gotten.

  11. LOL, all the power comes from the battery, the alt just maintains the battery. WOW, why do you guys think db drag competitors and extreme vehicles run an ASS load of batteries? Because that is where power is made at the battery. Granted on a daily system you want you current draw to match or slightly exceed your demand(current draw, i.e. the load). So best solution, slightly larger alternator and agm batteries, add your amp fuse ratings up and add that to your stock alt, best would be to current clamp the amps. So if you amps need 150 amps of fusing and your stock alt is 120 amp, then you need a 270 amp alt, PLUS the same amount of RC capacity in battery reserve to maintain a healthy electrical. BIG 3 is a MUST once you upgrade your alt. Is low voltage bad? Best way to toast your amps in a hurry. Hope that helps.

It is understood that power comes from the battery, WHEN THE VEHICLE IS OFF. Competitors and Daily Drivers are two totally different categories. In competition, you don't always have the vehicle running when you are in the lanes, so mass amounts of batteries are necessary. If you have a H/O alternator and as stated, the vehicle is always running; then you should never need to upgrade your battery. The amps should not take any draw off of it unless your alternator can't supply enough power. When the vehicle is running, it doesn't constantly draw from the battery and have the alternator recharge it, it pulls directly from the alternator. This is why manufacturers don't really care about A/H in batteries, just CA & CCA. A factory or aftermarket battery designed for a vehicle (One picked up from Autozone, Pep Boys, etc...) is designed to start the car. That is about it; because it is understood the alternator will be doing the rest of the work (Headlights, Radio, ECU, Etc..).

In a perfect scenario, a battery & alternator upgrade would be optimal, but the OP was just concerned about the voltage drops.

Additionally, be sure to check into the H/O alternators manufacturer,it has been seen that even though they are stated as 200, 270, 320 amperes of constant power, a lot of these are at a specific RPM range. Some manufacturer's will set it so you have to be at 2500+ RPM to even get the amount of power they state, and other have it a lot lower (I think Mechman was 1750?)

  12. Im not sure if the volt drop will hurt you buuuut.

Have you done the Big 3 yet? If not you should do it. It is pretty cheap, I think I done mine for under $40.

I was running at about 13.4 and droppin to about 11. Then after the big 3 I run about 14.8 and drop to about 12.8.

Voltage drops are actually pretty harmful for all electrical components. Remember this... Lower Voltage = Higher Amperage per Watt. Higher Amperage = MORE HEAT!

So, if you are running 1,000 watts at 14 volts, that is just over 71 AMPS, but if that drops down to the 11 ~ 10 range it changes to over 90 AMPS. Plus, I think an automotive battery "dies" when it drops below 10.5 volts...

As stated previously, a BIG-3 upgrade will help with running voltage, but do you only see drops at night? The problem may just be the fact that your alternator is not capable of keeping up with your amplifiers (Most likely the case). I am currently only 800 watts, and at night while my headlights are on, I see small drops on heavy notes. My alternator is only a 95 Amp, and I remember reading the headlights & fog lights alone eat up near 40 Amperes. So, I know that doesn't leave exactly enough for the 60+ Amperes being requested by my amplifier.

A battery is a good solution, ONLY IF YOU PLAY MUSIC WITH THE CAR OFF. A battery will keep you running a little longer, but ultimately the alternator is where the power comes from. If your alternator can't keep up, your battery will never get fully charged; and you could prematurely kill it. I had a friend who ran an optima yellow top, and every time he got to where he was going, he had to sit and rev his engine for a few minutes before he could turn the truck off. Simply because, the alternator couldn't keep his amplifiers juiced, so the battery had to help fill in.

  13. whats up with all the im afraid of vagina posts lately this is liek the third one. good luck.

Same here. I just hit it, if she pisses me off, put her nose in it & tell her no, and move on to the next one...

WoW, I am rollin' from the one...

But, yeah, don't be a puss. Be a man! One thing I learned from a few years of being a puppy dog (Well, maybe more than a few), women like confidence. I don't mean being an absolute dick. I mean being positive with what you want and want to do. I got a lot of tail once I figured that out and my last two years of college were a whole lot more "fun". Actually, met my wife because of it...

And, you probably didn't do the wrong thing by going home. If she wants you, she will be patient. If she just wants your dick, then it will be fun for a while, but not worth it in the long. Anyways... Just get it...

  14. I like Wayne a lot, but I think every since he tried to do that Rock album he lost some of his Hip-hop edge.

I think a lot of his music is good, but it just changed.

    Love that DJ Khaled song...

I pick up MixTapes like crazy... trying to stay up on everything, and I think the best recently have actually from the Rick Ross and Maybach Music.

Oh, and that "Flexxin" song from Young Jeezy and his "The Real is Back" Mixtape is NICE...
