  1. I'm actually thinking of buying that in a few weeks. If you can do a comparison with some other wires?
  2. I edited my original post due to new information from a local shop
  3. I'm about to change the original post on this thread. I got some news I was told so I'm forced to change the setup
  4. Thanks guys! y'all responded really fast lol. I love this forum. haha
  5. Sorry, I forgot that. there're dual 2.
  6. I hope this isn't considered a "vs" thread, if so I apologize. I'll be doing 4 SA-15" in my truck and I'm trying to figure out which amp will be best for it. I think (2) Sundown 2500.1 can handle 4 of the 15"s, 2 on each amp. I was recommended 1 Sundown 4500.1 in a different thread but the price difference between 2 2500.1 and 1 4500.1 is minimal. I want to stay with Sundown amps, but just trying to figure out which will work the best. Again, I apologize if this is considered a versus thread. *Edit: SA-15 = dual 2* *EDIT* Instead of doing the 4 SA-15" in my truck, I'll be doing 6 SA-12" D2 on 2 Sundown 3500.1. So will this hit even harder than the 15" due to more surface area? and those amps are capable to handle the 12"s? The reason I'm changing the setup is because a local shop I deal with told me that they can get me a better deal if I did the 12"s. I just wanted to see if 6 12"s were still going to make me happy.
  7. Cool guys, I did it yesterday: ohms were right. I checked the ground: it wasn't sanded down so I did that. It fixed the problem for awhile but it still started to cutout. Maybe I didn't sand it enough? at first, I thought it was voltage drop but I never pursued on checking. I'll have to do that too
  8. Looks like I'm leaning away from the RE's; I keep hearing about them going down the drain. Hopefully the local sound shop down in New Orleans would hook me up with whatever else they got that can move air. I told them I wanted Sundown SA15"s, they looked into it and they told me it would be pricey and never got me a price. Will 4 SA15" work on 2 RE5000.1? Or should I swap out amps as well?
  9. With that being said, looks like I may order me 60 feet of 1/0 welding cable. 2 runs positive, 2 runs negative. Also to ground the 2nd battery: should I ground first to chassis and from chassis to front battery? or straight battery to battery?
  10. So far I'm looking at: 60feet: KnuKonceptz Kollosus = $237 60feet: Audio Technix = $207 60feet: Welding Cable Ultraflex = $175.20 This is all 1/0 gauge wires. Welding is the cheapest, but also hardest to work with, I don't know if I can use it. I'm just hoping that 2 runs is enough. 3 runs may just break the bank for me.
  11. alright, cool. I'll keep and update to see if it works.
  12. alright, I'll check that out as well has ohms. Could anything else be the problem?
  13. I don't remember track # but I know it's the one for sound quality, not loudness.
  14. nope, gains were set with DD1 and hasn't been changed since. Only thing changed since DD1 is on headunit: frequencies
  15. Not sure, I'll check that when I take his system apart. If that's the problem, new ground should fix his problem? There's SVC's. what should I be checking for? proper metal contact?
  16. I'm trying to help a friend out and see if I can fix his problem for him. He's running a JL 500x1 Slash (I think this amp is 2 ohm stable) on 2 JL W3 10" 4ohms. He says when he plays music at about 20-23 on a JVC headunit, the bass would cut out. He goes back to check on it, the amp is burning hot on touch. I'm thinking the ohms are wrong? 2 4 ohm JL subs on that amp should be wired to 2 ohms correct? If it matters, this is installed in a 2005 Infiniti G35
  17. I wasn't able to get the 2/0 wires so I'll have to go with 1/0 gauge; therefore I need to bring this thread back for a few more questions. With 1/0, will 2 runs still be good? or should I add another run? and with 1/0 gauge wires, which brand should I go with? Was looking at AudioTechnix and KnuKonceptz Kollosus but I'm open to all suggestions
  18. 320 amp, 4 batteries, 3 RE5000.1 isn't good enough for 6 subs? (legit question, lol)
  19. lol, I don't want to do a blow through; I'm not real enough, lol.
  20. lol, that would do work but I still like 4 15" or 6 12"... lol, just the style of the box
  21. Cool thanks. I'll look further into it. would u do 4 15" Havocs or 6 12" Havocs?
  22. Would you recommend the Chaos and the Havoc? over the RE's? I'm trying to find some prices right now
  23. thanks, I've been trying to research as much as I can so I won't have to ask for help on everything. I might have to look into the Skars VVX's; Balla on a budget over here, lol Amps: I was looking at 3 RE5000.1 if I went with 6 SXX 12"s. Probably 2 RE5000x1 if I went with 4 SA-15.
