  1. well you brought up a question i have been wondering. my wife has a 04 cavi, recently we have been getting shocked when we get out of the car. its a little harder that when some one rubs there feet on carpet and touches you. it is grounded to this bolt in the back. i think its a bumper bolt. should i run a ground up to the front.

You don't even have to have a system for your car to shock you. It normally happens when the weather is colder. All you have to do is when you get out of the car touch the metal part of the door with your key and you should see a spark but you will not feel it!!! Gotta discharge yourself.

  2. I would think having a 14.4-14.8 charge and a 140 amp alt would keep it around a lot longer then it did. I only got 2 1/2 years out of a yellow top. then it died. It didn't get weak, just died.

Damn King. I had my Optimas since like 2000 or 2001 and when I pulled them out a few months back they only sat at 12.57 and 12.66 so I figured they did an ok job for me. I don't have anything bad to say about them....they just can't compete with newer batts that are on the market.

not only should a battery be on a good charging system (especially if you have beat of course), but you should charge them with a good charger frequently.....its good for the batt, its good for the alt too

Yeah Meade, I learned this the hard way. Dom school me on this one day while we were on the phone and I been good every since.

  3. This may be a stupid question but what is your factory ground from the battery up front connected to. Some where on your car copper will have to touch steal for a ground right. I may be wrong.

MLA, I've been saying that for the longest. Some people don't look to see where their factory ground is connected to. IMO, ground is ground is ground is ground. as long as you upgrade the stock wiring there's no need to run a wire all the way from the front battery to the back battery.

  4. now would my audio shop know how to install this module or is it something that hasnt hit the streets yet?

A&W, that module is so easy to install. It took me about 20 minutes and that was because I was paying more attention to my beer than installing the module. Also it takes longer to clean up the wiring then it does to hook the module up. Trust me....its worth it. The directions that MLA sends are so dead on that you'll have no worries.

  5. I haven't got to play with the new slim line yet but I think they might be useing CAT 5 terminations now.

I know they use them on the T10001,T20001,T40001 BDs so it wouldn't be possible to use the RFC3215 Bass coupler if the slim line Uses CAT 5 ends.

To big to fit into the holes.

Actually the same RJ-45 cable that was used for my 1050s also works for my T40001.

  6. Another one will fit between the frame rails behind the front bumper, that is where my HC2400 is. Build a bracket out of angle iron and you are set. Keeps more room in the back for equipment.

Sounds interesting. I'm gonna have to take a look at that. Could save a lot of space.

Does your hood close fine, that batt is sitting pretty high.

Closes fine man. The inside of the hood gives me about another 1 to 1 1/2 inch of clearance.
