  1. Honestly man, I wouldn't recommend running that amp that low.

2 ohms bridged is the lowest it can go and be "stable." If you go any lower than that you are going to experience less output as the unit will get so hot the fets won't be able to run properly and the amp will go into protection mode, or worse - fry.

  2. wow.. you all are a bunch of douche bags. id have to say that at least 75 pounds flying forward and slamming into a battery would cause any amp to have something come loose. and it was only 1 little capacitor. id say it took it like a champ.

Let's not get immature about it Mtxcivic07. Name calling is a no-no.

  3. yeah right.. mtx amps are ridiculously nice. i just got unlucky b/c of my box with the amp mounted on the back of it slamming into my Kinetik in the trunk.. thats what caused those pieces to become loose. they are fuckin nice amps too. dont diss MTX amps. their subs.. yeah.. you can diss em' they arent that great, but mtx amps are top-of-the-line, no matter what anyone says.

Are you sure you want to stand by an amp like that?

I don't even think they design their own products. They just pick the stuff already on the shelf over there in the far east.

I remember hearing back in the day @ rockford they used to hit the top of the amp with a rubber mallet..."torture tested" fo sho!

  4. Well I wouldn't say it is a design flaw but more like a Friday afternoon amp :D haha.

Honestly though the part should probably be replaced and resoldering it will not likely solve the problem.

I would spend the dough and have the factory do the work - they warranty it then right?

  5. That is a capacitor and your amp will work for a while but it will eventually die or not give you as much output.

I would get it fixed...if you continue to wait more things could blow or fail inside just because of that little piece.

  6. You can have it!  :^  Just come by and pick up the keys!! :D

    hahaha

    It rides nice!!

Very quiet inside and good acceleration and brakes...The only thing that sorta bugs me is the steering, as it feels sloppy and very easy to turn @ slow speeds.  But as you speed up the steering gets tight and is more manageable.

Overall it's a great car and fun to drive!  Thinkin bout putin some 18" Foose Nitrous rims on it...but not sure how that would look...
