  1. broke till friday, tis payday for me. I wish i could be building it now, i tried to con my parents into buying me the materials for well being their son and all. then they made me pay for dinner ftl. lol j/k Now that you mention it.... Funny thing is that I actually asked my boss for a pay advance one friday so I could afford to buy materials to make my current box! I just couldn't wait the 3 days until payday. I wish i could ask for an advance, and get it.
  2. nah i dont have any of those, are they expensive? i have weights, or is that a bad idea? Also when assembling the box after cutting is done i should glue then screw the panels together correct? but after the glue is dried are the screws obselete at that point?

  4. I cant wait until friday, Ill pick up my two 13 w3's and then go straight to home depot, or lowes and get all the stuff i need to build my box. just to make sure though, this is what i need right : MDF wood 3/4 (also if i were to stack the wood to make it 1.5 thick would that change the way the box sounds?) Wood Glue Screws carpet is that all i should need to buy? any recommendations on more or different things than i have listed? I used the torres calc to comes up with a sealed box design, but im not sure how i figure out the port dimensions i would need. I figure a sealed enclosure would be good for me to build as a first, then ported depending on how the sealed comes out. I figured i should probably do a box with about 2 cubes per sub. it should be something like 16x32x18.

  6. oh ok, thanks for the clarification. I wish i could afford 13 w3's, if i could i would probably just go with some 18's instead.
  7. sounds like the cheapest shop ive ever heard about. tape measure, pencil, guide, circular saw, router with circle jig, drill, nail gun, air compressor, probably more things too well the guy said he is making me a deal on the box since im buying some 13 w3's, the reason i am iffy is because im afraid that ill tell him i want a box tuned to 34hz and he will be like oh well since our boxes are typically tuned to 50 hz thats going to be 100 more dollars which would be retarded. if thats the case i would rather just go buy a nail gun and router, everything else i already have.
  8. Just like it says, If i wanted to make my own box what would i need? a circular saw, and router to cut out the holes for the subs right? or is it more than that? I have a shop that will build me a box for 75.00, but i already have a circular saw, if i just need a router, ruler, and the hardware i could try to just build one myself.
  9. My girlfriends brother has 2 12w6's in a sealed box on an elemental amp and it gets loud, and has pretty good sq, there are some notes his subs cant hit though. im wondering if mine would be able to hit lower notes in a sealed box, or if i should just go with a ported. The guy at the shop who is building the box does a good job, ive seen his work before and people are rarely left dissapointed so im not worried about the ported box turning out wrong. I just want to be able to hit lows and it be loud.

  11. im getting them for 125 each, and the box is going to be 75 dollars. I am still debating whether i want them to build my box or my neighbor who is also into car audio. thats still up in the air.
  12. Im not sure what JL recommends, but thats pretty good. ok cool, when i get the subs and box ill post some pics and vids to show you guys how it turned out. thanks for all the input man.
  13. thanks guys, so ill tell them ported, you think about 2 cubes a sub?
  14. Hey guys, I am getting 2 13 inch w 3s dual 4 ohms. I'm having the shop make me a box, I have a 2004 sonata that the subs are going into. I was wondering if I should get a sealed or ported box. I want it to be as loud as possible. I don't mind keeping the seats down if I have to. Any suggestions? They'll be running off of an infinity 611a amp
