  1. I'm kinda in the same boat. I have a 2004 Impala SS and the biggest box I can make that will fit thru the trunk opening is 6.5ft^3 net before slot L vent and I think something like each sub would roughly have 3cubic feet each tuned to 32hz with 14.5sq in of port per ft.Also It would also be for 2 15" DC XL m2's as well with each of them being ran off a M3a per sub so 2 XL ma's and 2 M3a's

Would that be cool for me?

  2. Hey I'm James I live in Rockville and came to your last show at Sonic's but wasn't able to bring my 2004 Impala SS because Im in between builds and I'm physically unable to finish the enclosure I'm building for my 18" Crossfire XS V.2. I also won't be able to do 2 runs of 1/0 to my 2 XP3000's in back. I had my whole right upper arm, shoulder, scapula, glenoid and upper humorous replaced with titanium back in May of 2007. I today only can move my arm maybe 45* off my side but have always managed to overcome the loss of movement. I also am not suppose to do any heavy lifting because of ripping sutra's out. I am a 5x cancer survivor and have defy'ed the odds but now isn't going so good. I'm not trying to get any sympathy as everyone has their own problems, it's just recently on top of having decreased motion my right hand literally just stopped working. It's nurological and don't have an explanation but I can't even write, type or move my wrist or fingers.

So that leads me to my question... I wanted to get a quote on what it would cost for you guys to build me a basic 18" vented enclosure (sub up/port back) with a double baffle and tuned to 30hz. I already even have dimensions and everything and actually have my box 80% done but just thought it would be easier to have a new one built. I also wanted to know what it would cost to build the Box and run the 1/0 wire, install my batteries and amps. It doesn't need to be fiberglassed or look super custom. It's really something that anyone would do themselves but I'm just not able too. If you guys can do this, I can tell you the equipment I have to install. I just need to buy the 1/0 and some more sound deadener

    Thanks in advance

    James

  3. I have a hard time thinking or even dreaming/wishing a D3400 would fit..I need a battery thats similar to the G34 Yellowtop I believe? If Im replacing my fairly new yellowtop it would be need to be for something 55+44=99ah or more..Yellowtop=55ah and I was going to add a SPV44 (44ah) to my 2 spv70's but if I can just get a front battery bigger than 100ah then I'd rather do that instead of having to build a new battery box..I think someone said a D5100 once but I dunno the ah & amps on that

  4. Damn thats some good ass power and that doesnt make sense because moving to 2ohm then 4ohm keeps cutting it in half so technically if this were a regular 1500watt amp, theoretically it should put out 750 watts and 2ohm and 375watts at 4ohm. So I guess the Impedence rise "Constant Power (CP)" techonology that they use doesnt keep the power at 1900watts no matter what but it keeps it pretty fucking high compared to what it should be..It puts out 400 more watts then it should at 1ohm,1000 more watts at 2ohm and 800 more watts at 4ohm...I'm tempted to try this bad boy out but the only thing thats holding me back, well number 1 the M3a I have now is more powerful no question lol but my friend gave me a Rockford 500.2 Not sure the exact model I dont think it was the CP but it looked almost like this and I ran 2 15's off it in 1ohm (which I shouldnt of) and it would turn off at high volumes which I understand because its not suppose to run at 1ohm but the thing that was weird was it stopped working and then I disconnected my power n ground wires and then after EVERYTHING was disconnected from the amp,2.5 hours later it started smoking and caught fire..AND NOTHING WAS CONNECTED!! lol I know I abused it but how the hell do you blow something with nothing connected

  5. I have 300 amp amputator without the overdrive pulley myself, car is 07 Impala my voltage is 14.2 to14.6 at start up but after it heats up i stay rite around 13.9 to14.1, i was told by a few different people that it was normal for me due to the fact that my cars ECU doesn't allow charging until i drop to 12.9. I was expecting more myself with the alt and two batteries, i even tried looking into a mla or vcm but no one makes them for my car but i have no issues with it, seems to be holding up just fine.

Is it like this on all Impalas? I have a 04 Impala SS and I have a 240amp alternator, yellowtop up front,2 stinger spv70's in trunk, volt booster and smaller alternator pulley and my shit still drops at idle full tinlt..I figure it shouldn't of dropped that low but it def helped

  6. If you have the room for 3 12's or 4 10's...Why couldnt you run 2 15's? Dual 15's seems like the most common amount and size of subwoofers. Most big Suv's can put 4 15's in with no trouble or further modifications. And for alot of cars with bigger trunks you can put 2 15's...I have an 04 Impala SS and I've had 1 15 MTX 9500,2 15 MTX 9500,2 12 MTX 9500,2 15" Memphis Mojos 08

s 1000rms,2 12" Memphis Mojos 08's and I currently use to 15" Memphis CM Cast Mojos on 3bolt motors and each one will handle 1800rms so I've had 2 main types of woofers both in 1 and 2 and both in 12's and 15's and I've been so much happier with my 15's than any other ones. Perfect example is my 2 12" Mojo's were in a built to spec Memphis Vented enclosure tuned at 35hz meaning it dint get any better than that and my 2 15" Mojo's that were the same model as the 12's were in a EXTREMELY TIGHT SEALED enclosure that only gave each sub 1.75cu ft each chamber which was HALF of what the subs needed and even with the 15's being choked to death ina sealed box, it hit every single note 10x better than the 12's could at their best.

Also from experience..Out of everycar I've seen doing massive hairtricks, at least 75% of them were running multpile 15's and 18's. I havent seen crazy hair tricks off just 1 18 either. Running 2 subs In my opinion seems like the best bet because then you can run them together @1ohm and you'd only need 1 amp. Running 3 or 5 subs seems to not make any sense at all because your going to be running some awkard impedence or something too low like who runs .33ohm or .66/.67

I know im not the most knowledgeable person here or even close by any means but just from my prior experiences I've always been happier with 2 15's in every circumstance. They hit lower than 12's and probably IMO shake more shit up. Yea 6 12's and 6000watts would probably be louder than 2 15's on 6000watts but 6 12's isnt an option. Also When I was running 1 15" MTX 9500 Dual 4 on a JBL GTO1200.1 amp that was 1187wrms and was probably putting 800watts to the sub. That single 15" in a prefab vented box on 800watts and a headunit with 2volt preouts in a trunk sub back vent back was noticabley louder than my friend who had 3 10" Alpine Type R's on 1500watts RMS with a 4v headunit and in a Focus HATCHBACK. I had a 15" MTX 8000 in a sealed box on an MTX 421d amp putting like 300watts RMS to the sub lol and since it was in a 97 Ford Probe hatchback and that sub on that rink a dink amp sounded almost just as loud as my 9500 in my trunk all because of the hatchback so I dont think 10's or 12's are you answer and neither is an 18..Open yourself up to some 15's and I think you'll be more than satisified

  7. What battery would work for me up front and what would you recommend as a rear battery for me for a 2004 Impala SS. I am running a 1500d at full tilt with a 240amp alternator (135@idle),0awg Big 3,Yellowtop up front and a volt booster sitting @14.9v-15v..But when im sitting at a light jamming to some lows that are constant and never give my system to recharge, would keeping the yellowtop up front since its fairly new and just throwing a XS battery big enough to keep my volts up for at least 5min at idle. How big of a battery would I need and how long could it keep the volts up at a stop before it starting to drop.I also plan on upgrading to a SAZ-2500 in the close future so going overkill on the rear battery would be better than doing just enough. Also I think putting in your D680 battery or whatever the small one would honestly be efficent enough to at least keep my volts around 13.5v but I just need something that can do that for a little longer period of time. Any suggestions? I just want the rear for now but maybe would consider swapping the front if just putting a D3400 under the hood could do the trick without even needing a 2nd battery

  8. Does this have the 3800 Series II Supercharged motor? If it does then it probably has the same fitment dimensions as my 2004 Impala SS. What battery would work for me up front and what would you recommend as a rear battery for me. 9. Do you happen to have the crossovers that were with this kit? I bought a pair of Polk DXI650 Door speakers and cheaped out on the component kit because I didnt have the extra $100 bucks on me but now since I saw these Polk Tweeters which would match my door speakers (Brand Wise)I want the tweeters and crossovers now lol. If you have the crossovers I'd be very interested in these.. Or maybe still interested in the tweeters as long as you could possibly do a better price. If I buy these for 40, the crossovers are gonna at least cost me $40-60 and right there is the price of the component kit but with brand new stuff. I'm trying to get somewhat of a better deal or I just wont buy anything at all because it's not an absolute nessicity
