  1. for that sub you can tune higher.. try a tuning closer to 35-36 htz youll be alot happier and it will free up some room in your box

    thats what i was thinking them subs like it at around 36-38.... i am currently building a box for these same subs but i got it tuned to around 35-36. right now i have them in a box thats tune to 39-40 its ok but im building a new one to tune lower. good subs by the way

    what wattage do u have urs at, cause mine are on 500wrms and they make a popping sound when i go 3/4 to full tilt.

    what would i need to change on the box design above for it to be tuned around 35hz?

  3. Ok so the AQ SDC2.5 work best on 4-4.5 cuft per sub and 14-15 sqin/cuft so you are low, here is a design suggestion on your space:

    Enclosure Specifications:

    Fb = 32,351 Hz

    Vb = 7,67 ft^3

    Subwoofer Mounting = Flush Mounted

    External Height = 17 in

    External Width = 38 in

    External Depth = 30 in

    Port Width = 6 in

    Cut List:

    * All Dimensions in Inches.

    * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.

    External Enclosure Parts:

    Front = 31 1/4 x 15 1/2

    Front Internal = 30 1/2 x 15 1/2

    Back = 38 x 15 1/2

    Left & Right Sides:

    Side 1 = 28 1/2 x 15 1/2

    Side 2 = 27 3/4 x 15 1/2

    Top & Bottom = 38 x 30

    L Port Internal Assembly Parts:

    Front to Back = 19 1/2 x 15 1/2

    For your type of vehicle is recommended subs/ports in the same face front or rear firing so both should be tried.

    Here is an assembly guide (generic dimensions):

    thanks i will get some wood and get it pput together!

  4. put foam inside the weather seal area. thats whats rattling most likely

    as well as the area where the latch is.

    some cars are able to have the ring that the latch attaches too move down for a tighter fit.

    id be verrry careful if you put spray foam where the weather seal is if you put too much it could warp it then it will be raining in your trunk.

    Could I use dynamat on the trunk lid where the weather seal sits?

  5. I get 9^3 gross, so you're probably way on the small side with port/subs subtracted.

    What are specs for the port opening? I see 15.5 high, but how wide is it?

    How does it sound so far as this box "seems" to be way out of whack for those subs...

    the opening of the port is 4.25". And hits pretty good on some songs and sounds bad on most. i had a buddy design it and i juta put it together :shrug:

    Sorry to say but that box design is junk for those subs. 8cubes NET is the smallest I'd do, 8.5-9 is better with 16^2 port per cube. You're around 10^2 per cube if you're lucky and it's tuned way too low.

    If you give me your max dimensions I'll see if I can come up with a better design that will fit.

    How much power do you have?

    max dimmensions are 38Wx17Hx40D and at 2ohms i can run 500rms to each and at 1ohm i can run 750rms to each.

  7. Really curious on box specs as I don't see 2 of those fitting in a trunk in the proper size enclosure.

    Especially tuned to 27Hz as that's a long ass port if you did 16^2 port area per cube.

    As for trunk set ups my experience has been rear facing hits lower, forward firing peaks a little higher and is louder. Also sounds a little better on real music. Of course every car is different...

    the specs are 38"Wx17"Hx29"D and by my measurements and using a online calculator it shows that my slot port is at 27hz. :pardon:
