I don't think 5 3100s is necessary for that power. 3 would be more than enough especially with 2 mechman alts. Hope that helps a bit on saving some money. Just make sure you have a good 2-3 pos and neg runs to the back batteries and some good grounds. Not sure what your asking by max amps? Figure out what size alts you can fit, mechman rates them by how much max amps the alt puts out and how many amps at idle. By taking a quick look at your equipment list your amps are good for roughly 6,000 watts rms (2,500 x2 and 1,000). Mechman should be more than happy to answer any of your installation questions. What equipment are you running and what is the total MAX Amp draw on all of your isolated components combined? (MAX not RMS).
What type of Mechman alt ? How many Amp at idle and how mant peak Amps?
And final question for now, have you already purchasefd batteries and alts ?
i wan't these equipment in my car :-
- (2) RF T2500.1
- (2) SMD AA 18's
- (1) RF T1000.4
- (4) RF T1652-S
- (1) RF 3sixty.3
i don't know how to calculate MAX Amp!
i wan't to learn that
- how to measure the Apm rms or peak for amplifiers/alternators/batteries
- how to make compatibility between alternators, batteries and amplifiers Amp
- how to wire the alternators and batteries to play only the system
- how to wire the alternators and batteries to power the whole car electronics include music system
and wan't to learn much more about alternators and batteries
not purchased the batteries and alternators yet!
but the the devices mentioned above already purchased just wan't suggesions for for alternator and batteries i chose the mechman for alternators and XS Power for batteries (D3100)!

Whats so hard to understand people? He doesn't want his stereo being electrically wired to his factory wiring so that there isn't any strain on the factory equipment. I'd love to able to do this!
Sir, your diagram is correct. I would recommend though, if you can run a higher voltage like 16v. More efficient for amps and more power. :-)

So ur going to use the mechman alt with the Oem alt on the same belt but u don't want to hook up the new alts to the Oem battery? Are u runing a 14 or 16 volt system? If not all this is a huge waste of tym and part/money
yaa i wan't to use my mechman alternator with my factory alternator on the same belt and i don't wan't to hook up the mechman alts to the factory battery because i don't wan't to use my fatory battery for my system because i don't wan't to take strain on factory accessories and battery, factory battery will only used to power the factory accessories not to my system! and i don't know the voltage because i don't install the system yet! even i don't unbox my devices but i have all the things that i wan't to hook up in my car!
i wan't seprate power house for my system!

fairly simple
youll want to get a external voltage regulator for the mechman alternators.
having one run of 1/0 or better is good, but you can certainly add more for less resistance.
be sure to do the big 3.
how much amp fuse i wan't? for (5) D3100s

So your alt should be made to power those accessories and a little bit more and the batteries will hold the reserve for you so you can ram on it and not have to over work everything else.
i calculated all the thing that how much power my audio and visual devices sucks and i found that (5) D3100s gives me the power i needed! one of my friend told me that "if i make compatibility between batteries amp and alternator amp i would take best results" thats why i m trying to find out the rms amp of D3100s

You don't really ge an alternator to match the amperage of battery. Your alternator provides the amperage for the system you amps. So you get an alternator built compared to how many amps your stereo and vehicle pull all at the same time at the peak demand: then generally ad 30 to 40 amps to be safe. I hope that helped a little?
yaa maybe its helpful for me! but i don't wan't to disturb my factory alternator and factory battery! i just wan't to install seprate alternator and batteries in battery bank which play only my audio and visual devices!

hey i m from INDIA and i want to know that how much amp D3100 have? i check the details for D3100 given in XS Power official website they displayed MAX Amps - 5000 and Ah - 110! what was that Ah?

I would check your wiring, and your charging system. Make sure your batteries are wired in right and giving a balanced power output. You should really consider putting in a second alt. BTW what size wire are you running from engine up front to your rear Batteries? Also, you should unstrap the second DC 3.5k amp and see if things balance out.. if you started having problems after you strapped the 2nd 3.5k then chances are you should start there bro. Make sure everything is matched up and have the proper wire Gage. Check ea amp too. Let us know what happens!!

i dont think that car has room for all that not unless you wall that car and put the batteries and amps in the trunk, still wonder if the engine will turn the HO alternators though
my car's rear seats are removed for sub enclosures!

Hmm, 2 fosgate 2500's and 2 SMD's. Sounds like someone has been watching too many YouTube vids. I call BS. money talks tho. I'll believe it when I see it.

WOW!!! Thats alot of power and when you start playing with SMD's you have to bring out your big boy wallet.I can tell you that your going to at least need over 300amps to power just those two amps alone.Once you throw in the amp for highs and accessories then you have to go higher.If you have the room for extra batteries I would say get the biggest alternator you can fit and still have a drivable car and then just add batteries as needed.So if by some chance you can fit 2 270amp alternators under you hood that would be a good choice.Mechman would probably be your best choice for what your asking.DC Power would be another choice but are usually on the slower end when it comes to delivering products on time.So as I said before send Matt at MechMan a PM and ask him what he thinks.

you say that i use (2) batteries and (1) 270amp alt can i replace factory alt and then install mechman 270amp alt and u suggest me (2) batteries both r for battery bank or one in the place of fatory bettery and one for battery bank?

Yeah smaller engines like that will have an extra hard time turning over a 350amp alternator.Now you may be safe running the 270amp and I doubt if you would be able to fit 2 of them and if you did you may not want to do this for a daily driver.Hit up Mechman and just ask is really the best advise I can give.Their the experts so let them decide for you.Thats going to be mad expensive though getting batteries and alternators shipped from the us to India but good luck.
i don't have any tention for expensives! but want to install extra alts and batts for my audio system so which option is best for me? 1st or 2nd if u have any idea then post it that how much alts. and batts are gud for me i want to install (2) rockford fosgate T2500.1, 3sixty.3 signel processor, (2) SMD AA 18's in ported box! if u have better idea that how much power i need for these devices then tell me!

hey! friends i am from INDIA and i really like the HO alternator in a car/truck and i am also planing to install multi HO alt. and XS batts. in my 2002 HM Contessa! i don't know that how much amp. my OEM alt. producing! i wan't to install (2) Mechman 350+ a HO alt. and XS power D3100 batt. shipped from USA to INDIA.
I've 2 options to install aftermarket alt. and battery bank :-
1) Would i use my factory alt. and factory batt. (under hood) to power up factory accessories + install (2) Mechman 350+ a HO alts. with custom brakets to charge only the battery bank's batteries these are (5) XS Power D3100 and to play my audio system
2) would i replace factory batt. to (1) XS Power D3100 (under hood) and other (4) are in battery bank and remove the factory alt. and install (2) Mechman 350+ a HO alt.
Option 1 Contains : Factory alternator, factory battery, (2) mechman 350+ a HO alternator and (5) XS Power D3100 batteries
Option 2 Contains : Factory alternator removed and (2) mechman 350+ a alternator installed and factory battery replaced with (1) XS Power D3100 and other (4) are in battery bank
And also help me that how can in wire the multi alt. and bett. with diagram for option 1 and 2 both.

brownm3 can u tell me with the help of diagrame that how u wired up the alt. and batteries? i wan't to install multi alts. and multi batts. in my sedan type car named opel corsa in INDIA. i've my own Car Boutique in india but didn't install the multi alts. and batts. in any car or truck yet!

ok! then tell me how much amp output alternator is good for my install and also 2 alternators or single alternator is enough for me?
i don't know what things to do when installing extra alternators and batteries because i don't do this type of project yet! so plz help
me to learn those things! can anybody teach me that how to make compatibility between alternator, regulator, rectifier,
circuit breaker (cut-out relay), batteries, voltage, amp etc! means to say i wan't to learn the basics to install aftermarket power house for audio system!
