i beleive the box leaky now anyway but yeah, its about 5 inches away now tuned to 38hz, i just feel it should be dowing more on that power, and i dont need a different car the loudest street trunk car on the east coast is my exact car lol the car isnt the problem trunk could fit 3 human bodies easily
-
the specs are in my post on thread
-
and yeah it was an suv, thanks for the support dudes 144 is my loudest yet but i was expecting more with that power, any box design ideas
-
i agree i just done beleive that it has to be my box
-
im upset with my power output vs the score, guy has 2 15s clamping at 1000 watts doing a 153, on 3300rms i should be doing a 148 out of the trunk easy
-
do it subs facing trunk, port facing trunk, its a side l port
-
just got back from show today, did a 144 in the kick and powerbass 3k clamped at 3300 rms at 1.8 ohms after rise, that blows my mind. The bo is a little bigger than 3 cubes at 38 hertz and that bastard only doing a 144. Have 2 level 4 12's, in a 1999 passat, huge trunk and lots of room to work with, the car does not like trunk walls, it likes subs back/up port bacl, I need help on ideal box for loud daily driver on that power
thanks

thanks everyone for the replies...my box tuning was kinda high so im gonna do some adjustments tomorrow let everyone know how it sounds and yes a trunk wall is everything completely sealed off with the subs firing into the cabin and even if the subs peak at a higher frequency the lows should be playing well
-
subsonic is all the way down, and the lpf is around 80 or so, is it due to a trunk wall?
-
How about some box and port dimensions.
box is 36 inches wide, 16 inches tall, and 17 inches deep, and the port is 3 inhes wide and is an l port, total length of 25 inches

got 2 dc audio level 4 12's in a 1999 vw passat trunk wall off a powerbass 3k and for some reason I dont get the lows well at all, however anything in the 40hz range I smash the hell out of, and I used the torres box calculator for my tuning but it still doesnt seem right
and ideas?

got some dc level 4 12's in a trunk ran off a powerbass 3k and those bastards are straight hittin, but it has been cold recently on the east coast and for some reason it has taken quite a while for them to movw well and get warm and I have a suspicion my amp doesnt like the cold, has anyone experienced this with subs?
-
ok so 3" wide but how tall? i'm following ya now.
14.5 inches tall, thats the port height inside the box, the box height itself is 16
-
can you get a picture for me?
http://www.reaudio.com/box.php
similar to that...its mad late out hear in va, not trying to go to my car
-
ok, so what are the dimensions of your port? 25 inches long but how big is the opening of the port?
and maybe take a picture, helps me understand better
the opening of the port is 3 inches wide, and stays the same width the lenght of the port
actaully 3.5

you mean 3x3 as in a square? if so that is your problem (possibly also your amp). You say L port, but mention diamater so I am a bit confused.
I meant that the l port is 3 inches away from the wall at all times
-
how big is your port? and make sure you have your infrasonic filter set correct.
port is 3 inches wide all around, 25 inches in total length, it is an l port, used the torres box calculator off the site to do the math, is my port to skinny as in diameter
-
what size are they in now? What amp do you have?
they are in a 4.49 gross volume and after displacemtn 3.31 ftsq3 powered by a shitty power acoustk 4000/1 bamf, I know im waiting on my 3.5k, but the amp shouldnt really limit the lows, didnt have a problem with it on my 4 10a\s

Whats a good box size for 2 12 level 4's, i got them in a box now in a trunk wall and I cant any lows at all, torres calculator says im tuned to 33.29 hertz but it wont even play no hands wtf is that, wondering what anyone would recommend
thanks
