i have a 1999 vw passat and was doing testing today with my wall which consists of 2 18 aq hdc3's and a powerbass 3k. It plays pretty nice until i opened the trunk and the whole experience changed, it got way louder/. The wall is not foamed off yet but my question is when I foam it will it be like having the trunk open
-
thanks everybody for the input
-
hahahha yeah i did it through facebook way back and never changed it and i was like he must know who i am hahahahaaah
-
jeff its greg we met up at the show in petersburg when i was there with berger
-
thats understanble but the law states I can have my view blocked through the rear and still drive, therefore the officer couldnt see me anyway ahah..basically I will tint 35% and then make the box black
-
hey punky...is your first name jeff?
-
they just clamped my window with the little reader and it gave a read out, also that mind stand up in court if I say the windows arent used so there is nothing to see anyway
-
my front windows and the windshield are factory no tint, when i had the tint it was on the back three windows and metered at 14% everytime, basically tinting is not an option because they love to get me lol
-
very true the painting part is interesting since I keep getting nailed for the tint which is shitty but is way to dark and they will get me for it sooner or later

tlee2...dude good to hear...any chance you can inbox me your number so we can talk got some questions sir

building a wall 2 18s HDC3 in my 1999 vw passat, I had it tinted, va tint law is 35% on the back and i had 20% that metered out at 14% I had to take it off becasue I was getting to many tickets. My question is, are walls illegal or legal, and if so is there anyway I can cover my windows legally without having to deal with the cops so much?

first post of the new build, out with the 12s in the trunk and in with the 18s walled, lookin to be fun and pics are coming soon

yeah i figured u would like that ric:)
-
thor trunk is 40 deep by 40 wide by 20 tall, basically the only real reason i have trouble with boxes is the openings are too small to get them in, running 2 level 4 12's of powerbass 3k and two batts
-
thanks everyone for there kind words and advice, there will be a box change, and so nice to see thorshammer on hear
-
thanks everyone for your input and advice, im gonna try a few things and get back to everyone and yeah ric has horrible box rise in his truck
-
I would like proof to this dual 15" setup clamping 1,000 watts doing 153.
look up team pulse car audio ric thorton 2 15 dd in truck with sundown 3500 and excessive amperage alternator doing a 152.8 i beleive after box rise clamping a lil over 1000 watts i witnessed it today myself
-
i didnt say u did i just said dont, people always talk about them lol, u all good, this one is nasty i think i just need the right box
-
this is the older model the better modeal, will easily clamp that much, they are almost identical to the 4k. It was clamped by show judge who clamped everyone's car and yes it is accurate, dont bash powerbass amps, they are the best amps I ever used

I run direct connect all the time, keeps the impedance equal, I had my amp wired at 1 ohm and the readout on the DMM said .8 all the time, then tested the box with stainless bolts would like to read 1.0-1.2, direct connect ftmfw
