  1. Both the amp and head unit have a point where they will clip, the sub is just whats taking the power so as long as the head unit and amp are fine the sub isnt going to produce further clipping lol.....also gotta watch out for clipping in songs......but yes i wish i had access to DCs and hopefully you will like them

.....upload photos onto photobucket, imageshack, tinypic, etc. just some image hosting website then get the code and put it on here ;)

EDIT: pretty much what he said ^^ haha

  2. Yeah that is how it works i checkedd tonight because someone told me that, but to prevent the clipping if i turn the gain down on my amp will that should eliminate the clipping, but then my sub doesn't push as hard.. guess this is what they mean when they say don't buy a cheap amp it won't push the rms is says haha

if it doesnt go hard enough until youre clipping the shit out of it to get it moving, definitely time for the DCs ;)

  3. We've all probably tried to use chat at one point or another, some of us are addicted to it... :P Some good, some bad moments...so let's share them!

NOTICE - NSFW (LANGUAGE, but still kinda funny...): http://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy148/djiceman1575/chat1.png

Anyone got any screenshots of funny sh*t in the chatroom, or can bring up some things that happened, like Sani tricking the noobs into a "technical chat" ? :drink40:

    Keep it civil

Kinda like Ice tricking noobs into reposting stuff from chat :pardon: lol

  4. when using audacity music can be 0-30, 30 being the loudest

so after you HPF the entire song at ~100-120hz @ -36/48db u will be left with the mids and highs

lets say your mids and highs account for 12db of the 30db at a loud spot... this means u cannot add new bass on top louder than 18db (-12db if u are creating a sine wave using the generator) anything louder than 18db will clip the song

think of music as a wave, but theres a ceiling only allowing a 30ft wave... if u try to send a 35ft wave 5ft of it will be cut or clipped off the top, and that is clipping/distortion

never thought of it like that.....thanks for the info decaf :good:
