highly doubt its a ground, ohm, or whatever issue, this dude knows what he is doing.... has to be in something being defective.., please report back what you find.....cheers and good luck....
I THINK I know what i'm doing lol. I hope its a single speaker and not the amp. If anyone can think of anything else to check, please post it.
I am not 100% sure its not the amp but I highly doubt it.. It will take you a bit unhooking all the speakers one at a time but im gonna have to say that's where the problem is....

I had that problem with my re audio amp so I got a new American bass 4 ch and it did the same thing so I tested the crossover for my driver side tweeter and it was toast. also had it happen with my 6.5 kickers don't know what was wrong with it but when i unhooked that one speaker never happened again on that setup
How did you test the crossover?
multimeter on the caps and little diodes. caps where shot

thanks for the replies, how about the rodek amps? it was all hooked up to some oldie MTX blue thunder 12s. honestly it was decently loud for how old it is.
just posted what I could find in the above post

not only are those not good solder joints you twisted them together completely wrong. have fun stuffing that conglomeration in the dash.
Does it look wired wrong?
its the fact that the wires are not straight the way you twisted them

not good at all I use a Bernzomatic Butane Micro pin torch from home depot its like 15 bucks but it was worth it. you can do direct flame or use the attachment tip

I would suggest getting a different amp. you're not going to get the power you want
I agree my problem was no money but my uncle gave me a $500 gift card for amazon.com for my birthday and I did not know what amp to buy and I have seen soundstream amps at competitions that's why I went with it... I have a rockford T1000.1bdcp hooked up at the moment and at my first competition with the rockford I hit 139.2 db so I was hoping the soundstream amp would be better.

Dual 2 ohm can only be wired to 1 ohm and 4 ohms
I understand that what I was wondering is it safe to hook it up to the .5ohm bridge connections would it blow the amp or sub
besides the fact that its impossible for you to wire to half ohm with a single dual 2 ohm woofer, if you DO wire to half ohm, your woofer and amp wont blow if you watch your voltage and clipping.
Ok thanks. I know the sub could not be wired to .5 ohm just asking what would happen if I did connect the sub to the .5 on the amps speaker terminals....... my voltage stays up at 14v all the time

ive edited my post three times, can you clean up what your trying to say, i cant understand if you mean wiring the sub to .5 or the amp being .5ohm rated and running a dual 2 sub to it.
sorry Im new to car audio... the amp is 2600 watts at .5ohm and it has on the amps speaker terminals ]----.5----[ i would like to get the most power so is it safe to hook up my 1ohm sub to a .5ohm amp I think its called bridge

Ok so I have a 18" solo x dual 2ohm I have it wired to 1ohm but the amp I bought is 2600 watts at .5ohm is it a bad Idea to hook it up to the .5ohm would it hurt the amp or sub thanks in advance
the amp is a TX1.2600d from soundstream

If you have a Intel based mac I would run vmware fusion or parallels they run better than bootcamp but not free. you would have to install one of those and the have a windows operating system installed to the virtual machine

Hi, I want to get into designing boxes but I've never done it before. I was wondering if someone could design me a box using Torres box calculator for a single 18" Fi BTL N2, tuned to approximately 33 hz. I would like the subwoofer to be facing up, with the port(s) facing back. The main thing is I'm not really sure how to design a port, if someone could provide a detailed explanation on the process of using the calculator to design a box to your desired results that would be great. Because I really am not sure how to decide the shape, number, and length of a port.
Thanks to anyone who is willing to help me with this.
P.S. this is an actual box design that I would make and use, as I'm planning on getting a BTL soon, and it would be going in a trunk.
torres-box-tuning-calculator (EDIT) Just seen need a box design did not read post. lol sorry

Ok I currently have 2 12” Kickers. I was thinking about getting a custom box built to hold 4 12” Kickers but I decided to go more power, considering my space. So bye bye kicker.
And I have my eyes on 2 12" DC Audio’s Lvl 4 or 2 12" XL. At first it was definitely the DC Audio Lvl 4 (FTMFCSW) just based on my current system I would be better able to handle 2k watts but I am thinking should I just get the 3k watts and hold off with their install until I get the money for a new H.O. alternator and battery (plus battery for trunk)?
If I got the Lvl 4’s I would have them up and running within a week but the XL’s might have to sit for a month until I am at least able to upgrade alternator and stock battery.
So what do everyone think? I am interested to hear people that’s that have gone Lvl4 and upgraded to XL. I assume you loved the upgrade but how noticeable was it. I know the lvl 4’s should do the trick but I think eventually I want like to get the XL’s. But maybe the Lvl 4’s will blow my mind….. Oh I drive a 2006 Mazda 3.
DC is great it all depends on you do you want to wait or have it a.s.a.p. I would go for the XL's . you have listened to the kickers this long I would hold out a little longer. but that's just me
-
Yeah it will push it, but you would need to make sure you set your gains right. But it won't push the sub to it's full potential
OK THANKS. one last question If it is 2600 watts at .5ohms is that each channel if so can I bridge it and make it 1ohm
-
No, a single dvc 2ohm sub cannot wire down to .5 ohms. It would take 2 dvc 2ohm suns to wire to .5
Will this amp push the solo x 18" in a 5cf box

Hey SMD Members ok I got a Amazon giftcard for my Bday and thought I would by an amp for my Kicker Solo x 18" I dont know a lot about systems but anyways my sub is dual 2ohm and the amp I bought is a Soundstream TX1.2600D Its rated at 2600 watts at .5ohm (did not know it was at .5 ohm) and 1500 at 1ohm. can I get a single dual 2ohm sub down to .5 ohm . I bought the amp because I was told the sub would take 2500rms in the minimum ported box size at 5.cf.
(Edit) Will this amp push the solo x 18" in a 5cf box
