Does it do it all the time, even when your not playing your system? Does it steadily drop to 12.5 or just kinda spike down there. You know, I had the same issue with my DC alt. I called and talked to them and they said that my truck (2006 yukon) has a feature which if 14 volts is not required, the ECM will drop the voltage slowly to 12.5v for fuel economy. I thought they were full of shit, until a friend of mine looked into it some more and sure enough DC was right. I also run two xs3400's on a crescendo 3k at .5ohm, and i still sometimes drop to 12.5. after say 1-2min, the voltage will start to increase slightly until it stabilizes around 14.3ish. This may also be the same for your impala.
No it only does it when the system it at full tilt and it just spikes down to 12.5 v. Maybe it could be a ecm problem

I believe it idles at around 800 rpm
-
Thats what I am wondering. What else could it be? My engine def bogs down when I am at full tilt too maybe that has something to do with it?

Pretty sure I have nice clean grounds and the amp is wired to .5 phms right now until I get my other 2200. I guess I will have to recheck my grounds and maybe ground directly to the frame. Would that help?

I have a mechman 270 amp alternator in my 2005 lS with a mechman adjustable voltage boost module set to charge at 14.8 hot...
Current setup is 2 xs power d3400 batteries
1 aq2200
Big 3 done with 0 gauge kicker hyperflex wire
And 2 btl 15's
Is it normal to have my voltage drop to 12.5 at idle with the system at full tilt? I wanna add a 2nd aq2200 and I am worried that my voltage will drop even more. When I hit the gas pedal and keep it at around 1500rpm the voltage stays in the mid 14's but I just want some outside input on this..
-
Yes TWO 15's lol. The box is just under 6 cu ft I believe ported and tuned low to 33hz. I know each sub is seeing at the minimum 2.5 cu ft each after all displacement. Getting a pair of 15's in that trunk was difficult to say the least
-
Havent had in on a termlab yet. If I could find someone local that has one I will def see what I can hit. I had it metered @ my buddys audio shop with some spl meter setup he has and it says I was hitting 149.2 but I doubt that was very accurate especially only on 2500 watts in a trunk build lol
-
Ported on drivers side. Tuned to 33hz

first test run with my newly installed btl 15's at the local cruise night. Powered by a aq2200 @ .5 ohms (until I get my other aq2200 that is) song is chp "wet dolphin" chopped & screwed

thanks! I just re-copied and pasted the url and it worked

Thats strange ....it works when I click the link. Is there another way to add a vid on here?

What do you mean? Link broken?

Honestly I am not sure....i will have check tomorrow

Looks like your port may be too close to that fender well (I'm assuming that's what I'm seeing). Needs to be atleast the width of the port away from it.
U cant see in the pics but the port is where the trunk opens up but I would like to have more room than I have
-
We impala guys have good trunk space but the opening is def limiting to what you can slide in :-( I am gonna make some vids this week as I just installed everything today.
-
Thanks guys...the lows are pretty violent lol. I cant wait to throw moar power at them!
-
Yes def works well. Brutal low end bass lol
-
Port on left side (drivers side) and I will post some more pics when I get home

Old setup.....pair of d1 fi bl 12's powered by aq2200 @ 1 ohm. 4 cu ft box tuned to 32hz
(ported of course)
New setup.....pair of d2 fi btl 15's powered by a aq2200 @ .5 ohm (soon to be a pair of 2200's strapped) new box is 6 cu ft tuned to 32hz. (ported of course) Hell of a time getting a box that big in that 05 impala ls trunk lol
What do you guys think so far..?

I have placed several orders with ddmtuning .com and havent haf any issues with them. Great product and cant go wrong with a lifetime warranty. One thing I learned is if your impatient like I am ( lol ) then pay for faster shipping or you will be waiting 2 - 3 weeks to receive your order
-
Lol. I hope so bro. I think I am even more impatient than you are and its not even my truck haha

The tsns 10" is def a beast. All 95 lbs of it ! Lol
