no it is just sending the signal into the amp and the way u are wanting t do it is one way that amp can be run. So u should be fine. and you dont have to disconnect the rear speakers unless you want to

i would use a step down after the amp or if u want a cleaner hotter signal use a audiocontrol piece like for example an lc8 or lc6 or jl clean sweep

if ur speakers are rated at 3 ohms u would prob get around 120- 130 watts per channel depending on the voltage. Hope this helps

heard about this a couple years ago never new if it was true or not. But there is no gangs that i know of where i live so i am not that woried about it. But thats messed up if its true.
