  1. Well if your set on SB2 and are after numbers, sell both 18s and go for the cone area of 8 sa 8s on 2 2ks or even 1 5k!!! I'd like to see the numbers for that!

How would 8 SA-8s fair against 1 DC Lv5 15, in your opinion?

And Dustin, I Dont have cash together for a D9 yet, but if you want pm me the details

In theory, you should be able to get the 8 8s louder, but there are a lot of different factors that come into play tho. You may be able to burp 1 lvl 5 with a whole lot more wattage than the sa's could take? Not sure tho. It just doesnt even seem fair that the class would have 1 15 competing against 8 8s, although i've seen some 1 sub set ups that got loud!! Just saying its harder to do that!

  2. You have the height(space available) to do 15's forward firing? I hate you.

I have the height to do 15's forward firing, but am limited on space, why i only have 1 15" firing forward. Maybe if i built it in the car, but too late now, i'm walling my car off soon!!

space is an issue for me also but gonna try and make it work :woot:

Hope you can get it done, i wanna see it!!

For sure 2 15s are going in it

I wish i could have put 2 15s in mine in the trunk, but i would have had to get the saw out and hack it up, and i wasnt ready to do that yet!!

  3. yes thats all the room he has in the truck.

Ok, thats what i figured. He must be a jl fanatic too right? I got to hear a couple of the thinline 12s a while back and i was very surprised by how little bass output they had. They were in a pontiac firebird running on a jl 500 and you could barely even hear them things. And they expensive too!! :(

jl audio doesnt make 12 thinline only 13.5 they must of been knock offs

I'm sorry, it was the 13.5 jl's i heard cause it was at a audio store that promotes jl big time. Which is even worse, 13.5's sounding so weak!!! I must have been thinking about the 12" thin mb quart 12's, which sounded better than the jl's, when i posted the above.

  4. im looking at a SPL FX1-5500D amp, for 380$ its rated for 3200rms@1 ohm, and 2500@ 2 ohms.. which would work awesome for me.. but i wanted to know do they do rated and are they any good? lol

They are good amps for what you can buy them for. You can buy a brand new one on ebay for around $230. You will not get anyhere near rated power, but for $230 you will get better than 1500 watts rms at 1 ohm. I've been slamming on one for over a year at .7 ohms with not enough electrical and have had no problems.
