  1. im asking will i be able to run 2.5k to my sub instead of just 2k if i get another amp, and run them at a lower rms. this would make the signal clean with no clipping, keeping everything cool. basically do you think my sub can handle 2.5k

How do you know your getting 2k already? I dont think there will be a big audible diff. Between 2k and 2.5k

    dmm bro. ohms law

  2. i have a memphis mojo 15-cm15d4 and i am powering it with a rockford fosgate t1500-1bdCP. i am overpowering the amp and the sub by about 250 watts. this makes the sub and amp a little warm but not anything terrible. now how much would i be able to throw at it if say, i got another t1500-1bdCP? im thinking the only reason the sub is getting hot now is because the amp is getting hot. think i'd be able to throw 2.5k at it?

  3. i was just told on ca.com that with my 185 amp dc alt i will only be able to run 3500 watts safely. is this true? sorry dont mean to thread jack

lol, it depends on how many batteries, ive seen 7k on a stock 100amp alt, but the dude had 10 fat ass batteries. running high power needs charging but charging is nothing without somewhere to store the power.

well i plan on running a dc 5k on a 185 amp alt with 2 beefy batteries in the back. with 2 level 4 xl dc 12's

you will probably want 1 or 2 more batteries, but hell, before you spend any extra money on batteries, see how your voltage sits with just the two, if you need more, then get more.

thanks bro. its going in a daily 99 ford escort zx2. im running 2500 with no voltage drop at the moment with a 185 ho dc alt, factory valucraft bat, and a kinetik hc800 in the back. so i figured if i get a deka up front and two huge batts in the back i can run it.
