What is the reason for boxes that have multiple boards, I dont know what its called, the port makes a sort of serpentine to the exit of the box. it is slot port.. but makes more turns than L port..

this would create lots of pressure though? is that what is wanted?

or would a slot L port be a better alternative?

the box would be for a 2010 orion hcca 15.4wired 2 ohms, MA audio Hk4000d stable 2 ohm. all 0 gauge.

what would be the best cu. ft. for the box? Orion says 3.5 but the sub displaces so much space, would this still be ideal?

anyone ever done a recone? can i get a 15.4 recone kit and replace this cone? its 15.2 DVC

or would i have to replace the magnet?

I took it to the closest stereo shop, they said it smelled more like glue than a sub going out... they set the gain and filters for me..

You need to set your gain level with an oscilloscope.

Whats your voltage at full tilt? 14.7 starting heavy hits make about 12.7 to 13.8 never had it drop below 12.7 though.

about half gain. sub sonic is about 25hz

I have a 2009 Orion HCCA 15.2 in an Atrend SPL vented enclosure, the sub is hooked with 10 awg wire to an MA audio hk4000d(stable at 2 ohms...) I have the sub wired to 4 ohms right now. every time i get the bass bumpin I get a smell.. smells like burning the voice coil(blowing the sub).

I cant figure why it is doing this i must have something wrong...

5/24- fixed the smell the ssf was to low, now i need to findout if i can recone it with different ohms\

another question is about a recone kit.. can i change the cone without damaging anything 15.2 to a 15.4 cone?
