  1. I'm not sure what you mean. I can't have the port facing forward at the top because the sub will be right there behind where the opening would be. And the port can't face up because the top side of the box is just wide enough to fit the sub. I think it'll be fine where I have it in my design now, I just have no idea how long it should be.

You sir.. confused the hell outta me lmao, but if you got the box figured out your good :) just make sure to make it clean bro!

  2. The bump wont cover the port, thats the reason for that notch out of the bottom front edge of box. the port goes over the top of it. the top edge of the box will be against the top of the back seats, and since the seats are tilted, i'll have a few inches between the port and the back of the seats.

And I'll just ride with the seats down anyways unless i need room for passengers.

I see what your saying... But I think you should just have the port to over the seats... Such as the top of the box rather than down the side if you know what I mean because leaving out port till it gets to that hump might be a pain to design

  3. Umm...big 3 upgrade done?

For my system, even though it's only going to be 2k rms, I'm putting two batteries in the trunk spare, putting a bus bar and wiring both neg ends to the frame...is that an option for you?

Have you checked for voltage drops and shit?

I haven't self with 2k rms but could it be voltage being that you set your gains with a dd1 and they are now higher? Giving you more of a voltage drop than I was before? Sorry if that's a tad confusing

  4. Ohhh, gotchya. Yea I could do that, the sub is going to be facing up anyways. I was also planning on adding a plexiglass window right above the port to show off the fat shiny magnet... but thats only if i can get some thick plexiglass scrap on the cheaps. Haha that shit is expensive

Ahhh just make sure you know how to do that... The top fake baffle is for looks though you could also add another baffle to do flush mount... But if cosmetics is a big part to keep panels and carpet that beach the mdf as a trunk I mean

  5. Umm like the piece of wood u cut the hole in for the sub that's your baffle. We are suggesting make a box but for tour top baffle ( the peice of wood your sub is going in) and contour it to your trunk. So it looks like the box is the whole trunk but to do that you'd have to have the sub up

Thanks for the answer on that. I was being a little slow on that

Anytime I love eclipse builds lol gives me ideas the 97 year I have is similar to the 01- 04 so always interesting

  6. There wasnt even carpet or anything except a spare tire in the trunk when i got the car, right now i just have a piece of mdf that i cut to fit thrown in there. works for me.

If it fits good buy outdoor carpet for 20 bucks and some aheasiVe spray it and lay the carpet down will look a lot cleaner cosmetically that's what I used :) builds below

  8. And I didnt even think about taking the panels off, I'm definitely gonna do that. Thanks

Anytime Tons more room just doesn't look. Very clean but if your good with fabricating beauty walls and stuff sure it could work out... Also dunno if your carpet moves on you but mine did was a pain so I layer down new carpet with a thick plywood boar under it for support for the box rather than just the cardboard piece holding up the trunk

  9. I have an 01 eclipse and i got about 4 cubes out of mine with a square box. Its in there pretty tight but not horrible

Was that before or after sub and port displacement?

not exactly sure what your going for cube wise but you can fit a square box in there about 4 cubes make a fake too baffle to make it contour with the trunk, I personally don't mind the box shape look in my eclipse but then again maybe your not going for cosmetics. Tons more room with PAnels off by the way
  10. I couldn't say what the future holds for a install. I change installs quite a bit. Seems I never finish one cause I end up changing stuff.

Playing around on paper, it does seem like I can squeeze out just over 1.75ft3, so I could run ported. The Level2 shows 1.25ft3 for ported. Listening to mainly rap/techno, what should I aim for on tuning the port?

My appologies was thinking of kicker for some reason.. It's all preference but I'd say 34 or so helps you play a range if notes

  11. Amart88, our products are not sensitive to temperature (with exception of out water based Spectrum products). So if you apply it durning the day when it's warm and it drops to -35°F tonight, it won't do a darn thing.

Well, it is to a degree (no pun intended), that's why I broke out the heat gun. It wasn't sticking very well in the weather I was working in. Just a couple of passes from the heat gun on low is all it took. It's a trick I learned from the good ole days of installing vinyl on transport trucks in the winter...

He ment after its applied man. So make sure it's warm when you put it on after that doesn't matter I believe is what he is saying

  12. ok. you cant really "tune" a ported box with your amp. i mean you sorta can. ok so your box is tuned at a specific frequency. most likely it is a 45 hz + tuning. most prefab boxes are high tuned. most of the time you want to set your subsonic filter about 5 hz below tuning frequency to protect woofers. in your case, i would think that your port area on that box is too small and you may get enough pressure to save your woofers. try this. set your subsonic at about 30 hz. and your LPF at about 80 hz and play a wider variety of music and make sure speker doesnt bottom out. ( you hear a click noise) or you here the woofer unloading where no tone is produced and speaker is flailing and moving air. then set your gain accordingly trying not to clip. you can adjust your subsonic and LPF to see what they do. the lower you set your subsonic filter, the more lowend you will bring out, but if you bring too much out you can wreck your woofers from unloading. find the sweetspot where you get most bass and lowend and speakers still protected.
Thanks that's what i was looking for all along, so in all essence when i have a box built i have to select the frequency i want to play it at mainly and i tweak it with that frequency being the base right???

When you create your box, you will choose a freq.. some like 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, and most.. don't like 40. :) It's all preference. I am trying to learn the whole low pass ect but your SSF Subsonic filter is basicly to stop the freq from being sent.. so let's say your box is tuned to 33 hertz, you have your subsonic at 28, the amplifier won't send a signal under 28 hertz to protect your subwoofer.
