JBL P660C, great sounding speakers that do it all.
If i hadn't got a great deal on the hertz i have now i would still be using them.
After the lowered price, they aren't too far out of my range, I'll have to look into them.
Does anybody else have any experience with those JBLs?
Edit: Just realized those were 6.5" & it doesn't look like they have em in 5 1/4. Damn!

Don't run 5.25's they just don't have the midbass a 6.5" has.
6.5's blend much better with a sub stage than the smaller 5.25's do.
Prior to my hertz speakers i just got, i had a set of JBL's and loved them they were damn near as good as these hertz are and the bass was phenomenal.
Totally agree & i've got a pair of Eclipse SC8365's but my doors on my new (to me) car only fit 5.25's & as of right now I don't want to start cutting my door up to make them fit.

i have run Infinity Kappas in the past...i know you posted about the reference series...personally my experience was a bit disappointing with them
Did you have the Kappa Perfects or just the Kappas?

Hey everybody, so I'm looking for a set of some 5 1/4". I'd like to run them active so comps would be nice but if anybody has had some experience with some coax's that sounded good i'm tuned in.
I currently don't have a 4-chan so I'll base my decision off of what speakers I run.
Budget is around 150 for a set.

Kid Ink is dope. Iv'e been listening to his music for a couple years. Listen to Neva Gave a Fuk, that song is sick but does has a bit of distortion.

That would work. I believe that's what Autruche (not 100% on spelling) used to do. But listen to it after you do that cause it might sound really muddy & there could be cancelling out depending on where you crossed it over at. Just gotta try.

I saw that I think it is pretty cool that they are also using a dd1
x2. They have a few vids of hem using the "ear method" which granted they've been in the game for a while but It's cool to see them using a dd-1 for those Hertz comps & McIntosh amps they have.

All 3 notes are distorted because they distorted the 808 to give it a different sound (lex luger does it on every song).
And I don't have Stevie Wonder so I don't know the hz on that one.

I was hoping so too but I put it in Audacity & the lowest bass note is 58hz.

there is a kicker zx1500.1 (older model) for $215 & an eclipse 2-chanell for $75 at one of the pawn shops around here, but everything else is overpriced.

hey guys, i just recently got my DD-1 over the weekend, and must admit, it did work to my interiors.! sounds way better than before. my main question is that while tuning the sub amp, i noticed that the amp's clip indicator was going off before the DD-1 detected distortion. should i just adjust my gains to where the amp starts to clip, or should i follow the DD-1 and tune until where it starts to distort.? thanks guys.

I had kinda the same problem when I got a new computer, the audio car was way better in the new one so there wasn't nearly as much bass as the old one but it sounds alot better. But if you have an old comp, that might be why.

I would just remove the Audacity you have now & try downloading a new one.

I just deleted, then downloaded a new audacity. & that song probably does peak there but it's probably clipped to balls.
actually no, its just a loud song. there's very simple music in the background and a simple beat, so that allows room for lots of bass
Oh, makes sense, I've only listened to that song a couple times.
