  1. Sold the car today! The deal started at $700, then to $850 with the sound system included. // TMA amp t500.1 ($70) giggity and 2 Emence Labs Gen 2 12"s in a old sealed box ($150) and some older JVC headunit.

We were still colliding on where to go to do the switch, here or there. Schedules led this deal to be one confusing clusterf^&k. I'll spare you the arguments and small confusing details. But the test drive was running around trying to cash a check within a 10 min window. Which ended up taking like 30 mins.

We ran out of time so in order to do the transfer we ended up going to Ohio that was 20 min away as that office stayed open later. All I had to do was sign the title and take the money. The buyer put old plates on the car which they can use for 30 days. I took mine. I have to turn in my plates at the court house here in KY.

    Canceling the insurance tomorrow.

Wont ever sell a car out of state again. Thanks for your guys help.

  2. Greetings,

I'm tryin to sell one of my cars but I'm confused with the small details. I'm selling a 94' Chrysler LHS, which is in Kentucky to someone who is in Ohio. So far, we both agreed on cash and in person. He would come to Kentucky. But what is required on my end, and his end?

I've sold a car in state, so I understand the process. But I've never sold a car to a stranger out of state. Like, do I leave the plates? Once the cars out of my name, does he have to register the car in his state? etc.

  3. Hello everyone,

Sorry to pester you guys with an off topic question but atleast it involves bass. Giggity <_< .

I purchased a used RCA 2870-A Home Theatre Receiver today from a local pawn shop for $60. Just the receiver, no speakers or remote. All the inputs and outputs work fine, besides the subwoofer(s). (Has a wire & RCA jack for sub).

The only sub adjustment control it has is one button that cycles soft-powerful. There isn't no EQ or anything. I tried switching surround sound modes (Stereo-Dolby) but didn't get any sub response.

When I pulg the sub into the speakers outputs it works fine so I know its not the subwoofer itself.

Atm, I plan on returning it. But I won't be able to until next Sat due to work hours and their not open on Sundays. Hopefully get this sorted before then.

    Appreciate your advice,

    David

  4. Greetings everyone, Tracks as of August 22nd 2011

Thought I would share some of the tracks I'm currently listen'n to. All rap and hip hop mostly from mixtapes.

I edited almost all of them in attempt to improve volume, bass, and clarity. Some edited down to aviod gaps and or silence. I am by no means a professional at this but a lot of great tracks that were not hittin and were somewhat quite, are now bangin. It sounds good in my car, just thought I'd share. Compare them to the originals and let me know what you think.

    Dave

(THESE ARE NOT CHOPPED & SCREWED, SLOWED OR HAVE THE INTENT FOR ALL BASS)

Must have Winrar, I think the files only about 215mb. 55ish tracks. I apologize about megaupload, 15mb to big for MediaFire. Also note Lil Wayne - Gucci Gucci is a bit ... loud. =D

  5. you're gonna need to do a deep research to find something that can support that much power @ 6 ohms unless you got the money pit for a 2000 watt or bigger amp to..

CleanSierra posted they're most likely running at 3 ohm. Even though stated as 6 ohm, I'm not tech but I believe 'em. Given my budget I'm looking to put about 400w into each sub. That should get the job done. Thanks Speed.

  6. Right now you're actually wired at 3 ohms, not 6. The subs wire for a final impedance load of 3 ohms. Get an amp that puts out good power at 4 ohms and you'll be in good shape.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882682194 im running one of these and it works great. going on the average 75% efficency an 800 watt amp runs around 600 watts so youll be fine. the only downside to this amp is there is no remote gain control

3 ohms? They do state 6 ohm on the magnets. But I could see this as my current amp would can push them fairly well.

This is how they are currently wired.

And thanks for the amp referral. Should give me that extra power I need and is very cost effective. Probably end up running two =D.

Both of your advice is much appreciated.

  7. Greetings fellow Bassheads =D

I own a 94' Chrysler LHS. Recently I installed new $85 BestBuy 5 1/4" Kenwoods (KFC-1393P5) coaxials in the front doors. Then some unknown model Pyle 5x7" coaxials int he back. I got from a brother in law free of charge so ... (I had to make a 6x9 wood adapter for em to fit). Anyways, in car audio is sounding fairly well. Going from stock cardboard lol.

Since I up'd the mid and high, I had to increase to low :D. So I got on craigslist and found some Eminence Labs Gen II's 12" for $100 for the pair (800w @ 6 ohms (Single Voice Coil). He said they're almost new and were collecting dust. Had original boxes and the subs were in really nice condition. So I thought it was a good deal, even though I had to drive an hour through the ghetto to get'em lol.

    Eminence-Lab12-Generation-II-12-Subwoofer-0.jpg

Right now I have them hooked up externally. (Facing into box) I didn't want to bother with the connectors etc. Besides these subs are sexy backwards as they have that spider look to them.

The box fits 2 12"s, sealed and has separate chambers for each sub. The box shape, think of a box frome the side and the subs are leaning towards the back seat a bit. Maybe 25 degrees or so.

Right now I have them ran individually to the 2 channels (Not bridged) of the JL TMA (forget model maybe 250.1). I know its about 300w x 2 @ 2 ohms. Sounds weak, but surprisingly its pushing those subs fairly well. Dat low! But as I start to crank up the volume I can hear the amp not keeping up. Dat low ain't so low bro.

    28753030036_large.jpg

So I'm on looking for a decent budget 2 channel amp. Something that can do 600w rms x2 @ 6 ohms. I would like to keep that ohm rating. I like bass, but I like it where it compliments the song. Not just ~" BRRRRR! BRRRRR! and im BRRRRR! money BRRRR!" ~ lol. I would like to spend about $150, pushin $200. Wondering if you all had any suggestions on amp brand, model, and source wise.

    Many thanks,

    Dave

  8. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I guess I should have expected failure but I'm thick headed like that XD. I've built normal ported type boxes before that worked great. Since I have two 12" in my trunk I wanted these to go between my front and rear seats which made dimensions a bit awkward. There is a reason its small.

The height dimension in only like 5". You think it would be worth investing in a thicker plexi glass and also making it taller in height? Or just scrap the entire thing? It took a really long time to make lol.
