I have a pair of 5k's, wonder if they would fit in the overhead bin if you flew me down there
-
nothing here for sale please read the rules.
-
2 15's is prolly the best way to go to have enough airspace, unless you use bed and do a blowthrough
-
u looking to do daily or SPL?
-
-
it's actually a mixed order for store stock and customer builds - mostly Level 2, 3, & 4's from 10's to 18's
-
got my FedEx Freight bill of lading emailed yestereday.....excited, but not looking forward to unloading 516lbs O gear......
-
we used to run into this all the time -- specifically with Memphis amps and RCA's that came in Xstatic amp kits
-
right now, it's in pieces.....gonna try n rebuild box for 3 18's, if the box fits--will recone my XL's to 18's. Last year, I ran 2 12v "cat" batteries and stock alternator and did a best of 157.5. First burp without changing a thing but 16v batts...no alt yet and did 158.9. The amps are/were at .7 strapped so each will see .35 before box rise...hope that helps answer your ??
-
I will have 3 XSPower batts per 5.0, but they will be running @ .35 when I finally get this thing done here soon.....240a Mechman here
-
Hmmmm lvl 2 or 3 I forget which one.. is a great sq sub....(zapco)
Level 3 - we actually ordered (4) Zapco ZSS-10 woofers and they were built and shipped from DC....looked crazy close to Level 3's
-
I would double layer the baffle...subs facing back/port to side? Looks like it should waaaang
-
Imma pull one of my 5k's and try mine with just one amp n see what she do......
-
hats n such can be ordered @ DC Audio Accessories
-
i think these trucks are hard to get loud ....on the meter
just have to build for the meter -- my 94 Rhanger has 3 XL's running of 2 5k's box is under the window line and first test on new batts was 158.9 in the kick (USACi SS601-1800)
-
they're pretty close....
-
from his FB page, looks like he's into high end home audio towers now....Nolte Audio
-
did some digging and found it -- sub goes to the right, almost like a normal ported box. Height is 15" (if it's same one I found, designed for RE XXX 12") Not sure on tuning freq.....would have to be pretty low, with that length of port.

For those wondering wtf a snail shell enclosure is:
is supposedly something like it.
Heres a thread about them from 'way back when' from DIYaudio. Alot of the original people from this forum and A LOT of STUPID LOUD people were on their forums a few years ago.

what size driver is that designed for? What is height? looks interesting!
-
while we're on the subject -- do they all turn backwards? The 5k's and the 3.5K turn down when turned to the right......backwards to me, can be dangerous
Just sayin'
-
ordered pair of Level 3 12's and a 2k for a customer Thursday I think it was.....they will be here Wednesday, not bad for a holiday in between!
-
box has since been changed....subs dropped all the way down, loading wall behind, triple baffle. So far doing 158.x USACi outlaw style....

I don't know that I've ever seen actual specs on them....some will depend on how many/which spiders....and I suppose as long as it isn't the stupid amounts of power, they should be ok daily. I know a pair of them didn't like 14k on music for very long.....told him not to!
-
Did not know they had a specific team design
No vent pole is only difference was my understanding....for "burps"
DC5k on 16-18v low loads clamped ect
in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!

are you looking at USACi SS601-1800? I run (2) DC 5K's in that class for the same reason, and I didn't wanna be like everyone else and run the "magic" D5's from RD. I had a few issues but am hoping to have things a go for next year. I have 6 XS Power D1600's and a 220amp alty to charge them. I run a '94 Ford Ranger with a "S-10" style box that has been modified to hold (3) XL 18's. I ran 15's last year and just the direct switch from 12v to 16v brought me from a 157.5 to a 158.9, outlaw of course. I haven't clamped power with the new setup but I will as soon as I get a chance.
