  1. I installed a new system in my mazda 3 the other day...

    stock HU

    4 gauge stinger power kit

    1-15 inch kicker cvr

    1-kx400.1

    3 cubic foot box...I'm guessing tuned 38-40hz

This is by far the loudest system I've ever had...It murders my 2 15's that were sealed.

For real tho, this system slaps like hell for one sub and a 400 watt amp.

I'll post pics/vids if anyones interested...I don't have any build pics of the box tho.

  2. I've never met Steve, just like probably 95% of the people on this board...BUT I have been hanging around this forum long enough to know that Steve is one of the best in the car audio game.....That's nice and all, but what sets Steve apart is that he is willing to do whatever he can to help anyone...As busy as he is being a master installer, working, and his own personal life, he still takes out time to help out average people...You're a good guy steve, and everyone at this forum knows it...If that Saltyballz feg came over here and started talking shit there would be 1000 posts talking shit right back to him within minutes....We got you Steve.

  3. Subs arrived today!!!

Overall I'm impressed with these subs...a bit plastic, but whatever...Finally I got some detailed stats on them

    PW2-15m

    1300 watts MAX power handling

    550 watts RMS

    110 Oz. Magnet

    2" Aluminum Voice Coil

    Mounting Depth: 7.08"

    SPL 88 dB

    Fs: 32 Hz

    Vas: 67.882 cu. ft.

    Qms:2.598

    Qes:1.282

    Qts:0.858

    Xmax:0.43"

I don't know what half that means but I figured some of you guys would lol

So what do you guys think...considering I picked up both of these for under $150.

could someone please answer my wiring question from previous posts in this thread?

and one more thing...PA recommends 2.72 cu. ft. per sub sealed but after doing some measuring in my trunk I realized the most they can get is about 1.6 cubes per sub.

  4. In my experience, larger boxes do better facing forward but they must be pushed all the way to the rear of the vehicle. Moving them just 12" or so forward has resulted in a 3db loss. I've also seen good results facing subs up in a trunk but the rattling was worse then facing the rear.

Yeah, with sound deadener my rattling is almost unbearable with one 12 sub and port facing back. I'll def fire the new subs forward and try what you said about pushing the box back...

Thanks man I will try that out

Can somebody please help me out with my wiring question...

    The amp is rated 200wrms x 2 @ 4ohms but can handle a 2 ohm load on each channel...It's also rated 500wrms x 1 @ 4 ohms.

Will I be better off with a sub on each channel @ 2 ohms or bridged @ 4 ohms....or is the amp internally regulating those to the same exact thing?
