why not just get an amp that does the rms ur looking for at 2 ohms instead of .5? the zx2500 would be perfect and theres on for sale in the fs section right now
-
HELL NO!!!!! Im just looking at a setup to put in my buddy's truck. If I were to rip out the 18's I would run 12 12" Type R's (so I can get the service plans on them when I blow them up), but I have neither the time or the resources to do that.
haha thats what i thought man, GOOD!
-
Im looking at putting together a little setup, and I can get either of these subs for pretty damn cheap. Im just wondering which of the two subs you would prefer. I can get the Type R for $110, or the P3 for less than $100.
ur not gettin rid of the 18's r u?

idk if anyone else saw this, but those E8's are only rated at 200 rms right? so i think that the 1500 would be drastically overpowering them? i could be wrong about the 200 rms, but thats what i thought.
EDIT: nvmnd, u can wire em down to a different ohm load, should be ok

using this method you may not be able to control the sub directly from the H/U, but instead u could use a bass knob for the sub, so that your h/u controls ur mids/highs, and than your bass remote controls the sub level (thats if it compatible for your amp). if you really want to control the sub from the h/u i would recommend looking at a different unit that has more rca inputs
Yeah, well on my pioneer right now, i have a kind of "kill Switch", that im sure most of the pioneers have. Why couldnt pioneer just make that touch screen with three sets of Rca outs. I just want all the little things i have now with my H/U, with a dvd player touch screen. (that was my original plan)
I guess they have this one

Its got 3 rca outs. Maybe.....
yes. that would be just fine for what your looking for

Ok, I am using Mb Quarts. 4 channel amp and speakers 4 tweets and 4 5-1/4" woofers. Are you sure that ill be able to control the sub from the H/U if the RCA's arent plugged directly into the H/U?

What? You mean From H/U run 4 channel Rca's to 4 channel amp. From 4 channel Amp run a 2 channel Rca to the sub amp? I want to be able to control the subwoofer settings from the H/U. Would i still be able to do this? I found this alpine Thing, but i want the pioneer H/U. Heres the alpine

I am pretty sure you can only use this with the imprint compatible Cd players
yes thats exactly what i meant, you should be able to do this. what mids/highs amp are you using? there all different

I need 3 Sets of RCA's ran to the H/U, and this one only has 2. I have rear channel, front channel and Subwoofer. If i need to use a processor so be it, but i cant find one i want for under 200 bucks on the internet. Is there a way to still use this H/U?
yes, on your front and backstage amps there should be "output" rca's, run your rca's from your front stage output to your front stage input and there you go. or you could get something like the maxxsonics maxxlink where it matches the 2 amps together, but im not sure if thats what your looking for.

you need to switch your ground, it would be better with 0 gauge for both power and ground, but the 4 gauge is the smallest u should use. and the fuse needs to be at least 100, i would prob go to 150 though.
-
ok so BIGGER? alts are the way out of poor engine performance, is this why like race cars have a bigger alt?LOL
-
cool
i dont even get it? lol
-
It looks like you have enough room to point them forward and side port the box to the driver side.
agreed.
that would be the best way to do it
-
u wanna build a box like that 4 me next time ur bored? ha great lookin box man
-
With the HU though, wouldn't both subs be playing that way? I mean for it to only happen to one sub and it's the same sub. I've hooked up three amps to that one sub and it's still play that sound. I guess I'll send an email to Rusty to see what's up.
yea i would just talk to rusty, he will help you out for sure.
-
sry about the late response. it could cause cancellation. hard to know without seeing exactly what ur box looks like.
-
i know what you mean. i had to do it for 4 12" L7'salright ya doing it with a jig saw i dont have the sub here so im just gunna cut a 13 3/4 x 13 3/4 hole in it in teh center i hate making the cut outs for square subs! -
ok thanks,
if i have 4 batts, i run a wire across all the POSITIVES,
A wire across the NEGITIVES,
and then ground each battery? right..
yup. u could either run wire or you could use copper buss bars instead, much cleaner IMO
-
OMG,
THIS IS FOR A BATTERIES TO POWER THE AMPS, not the main under the hood,
so
WHEN I WIRE 2 OR MORE BATTERIES, IN THE REAR OF MY CAR, FOR MORE AMP POWER,
DO I GROUND EACH BATTERY? AND HAVE
NEG to NEG
POS to POS
or
just POS to POS with each batt grounded?
O I GROUND EACH BATTERY? AND HAVE
NEG to NEG
POS to POS = YES
-
If i made a box for 2 subs. had them in the trunk of a car and faced one pointed up in the enclosure and one pointed towards the rear of the car....would there be any cancellation problems?
ported or sealed enclosure?
-
if done right the level threes will be louder due to the greater cone area, but thats assuming you have enough volume in the box and a big enough port.
-
Well you could do it with a circle jig and a router with a spiral upcut bit... or you can do it how I used to. Divide the cutout by 2... take a piece of scrap wood about an inch in width and drill two holes that distance apart... put your drill bit in one of the holes and drill a hole in your baffle where you want the center of your cutout to be... once you drill the hole and the jig is held there, take a pencil and put it in the other hole and go around.... perfect circle then ofcourse just cut it with a jigsaw after.
wow, thats a really simple really good idea. i think im gonna go with that
-
alright guys, well ive had some experience building boxes and have built quite a few, but i always have ghetto cut the sub holes on the baffle. I just ordered a Level 4 18 and i dont wanna screw up the cutout on my new box. any advice on how to measure out the hole and cut it without all kinds of tools? the diameter is 16.75, i appreciate the help guys.
-
any specific reason why?
because even though the hifonics amp is overrated, the kenwood is as well. the kenwood is "rated" at 900 rms, but is overrated just like the hifonics amps.....i think that you will like the hifonics better, ive had some of the brutus amps as well as the crunch pzi amps that are very similar to them and they were very good amps for the money. everyone that ive ever talked to thats had kewood amps say they have had problems with them.

now my ? is this. i already have 1 of these pioneer premier ts-w3004spl 12" and are rated for 1k rms. should i just get another? or sell it and get the 15 p3s
getting another premier would be easier on my wallet also
the premiers are better subs but you have to remember that your going to need more power for 2 of those vs. 2 of the cvr's/t3's
Ap30001 Or 2 Rf 15001bds

oh ok ur right, for some reason i thought it did 3000 at 1 ohm. but the zx2500 still wouldnt be a bad amp for it, depending on the price for each
