  1. the hifonics amp is like my limit of my budget. has any one else had any experience with crunch amps?

i ran the crunch pzi 3000.1, it was a decent amp, but way overrated! if your lookin for 1500 rms neither of these amps will give u near that. I would look at this hifonics brutus

    http://cgi.ebay.com/HIFONICS-BRUTUS-BXi160...id=p3286.c0.m14

Like all the brutus amps there overrated somewhere around 300 rms, but i tihnk its a better amp than either that your looking at, and itll give you around 13-1400 rms. What subs are you running?

  2. Alrite well i just got my system all hooked up today, and it sounds really good, but there seems to be a problem with my amp. I think i know the problem, and im sure i'll get the response that i think i will , but here it is:

Im running a kicker zx2500.1 on 4 12" L7s that are all dual 4 ohms, so i have it wired to 2 ohms. I am running 0 gauge wire with a stock alt, stock battery and a kinetik 800. I know that thats not enough battery for my amp, but its all i could get for now. I had the gain set at about 1/4 of the way up, maybe a little more, and it was bumping good for a while, but when it hits a really hard note at full tilt, the amp cuts out for a second and goes into protect for ony a second, and then i starts bumpin again.....when i turned the gain down it seemed to be fine. So is it because im getting such drastic voltage drop? i had a voltage meter that i was using and it was reading above 12 volts the whole time, but im not sure how accurate that is.....so is there something that i can do on the settings of the amp, like the crossover, in order to fix this problem?

  3. I use kicker subs, and i like em. They dont get the loudest, and they dont have the best SQ, but they are ok for the price. I have 4 L7's in a 14 cu ft. box and it gets pretty loud, i got the subs for 130 each, which is a lot cheaper than a lot of other brands that are the same quality.....so i would recommend them if your not wanting to spend crazy money on subs..

  4. Are those chrome or polished aluminum with a clearcoat?

Powdercoat is still the best way to do them, even if you get a pro to paint them and clearcoat them, rock ships will show on them pretty easily.

Keep in mind that there are plenty of Liberty Sport owners out there that would buy the limited wheels, I used to be one of them (2002 Liberty Sport traded in for the PT). You could sell them and get aftermarket wheels.

    yea i like that idea

  5. aw shiit you cant add another layer... looks like allthread... and youll need to add a small panel of mdf on the inside of ur box where the allthread comes thru, lets say a 6 x 6" piece so you can counter sink the bolt and nut so it doesnt extend beyond the width of the box and rub ur trim

not sure what mean man? whats allthread? never heard of it....and if i add another piece of mdf is it gonna mess with my tuning of the box?

EDIT: missed ur other post.....alright man, so where can i get an allthread like that? ad do i bolt it to the inside and outside of the box?

  6. wow thats a big box... is that 14cuft external?

    port should budge

refurbished means the cone spider vc where taken out and new ones put in which means there might be extra glue but it shouldnt last long or smell like burning wood.... more like acrid glue

pics are worth a thousand words... i ve never seen a port move so a vid or pics would help alot

are the 4 l7s dual 4s or dual 2s and are all of them the same ohm... how are they wired also?

14.3 ft internal before displacement......i dont have any vids yet but i'll post some pics.....yea it might have been the glue that i was smelling.....bc it wasnt as strong as vc and it didnt hang arounf like vc burn would. the subs are all dual 4......and there wired in series at 2 ohm, so the brutus wasnt even really pushin em...givin em maybe 1400 rms total. I'll post pics in a few minutes

  7. Alright i finally hooked up my new system today, just a trial run til my zx2500 comes in. I was playing it for a little while on a brutus 2607 amp wired at 2 ohms, and the subs started getting a little smelly, like i could smell the vc's or somethin....two of the subs i had in a previous setup, the other two i bought were refurbished.....do you think that the refurbished subs need a break in period? are they reconed or just fixed? also i wanted to ask about my box......i built a box that is 14 cubic ft, tuned to 34 hz and the port seems to be shaking like crazy, ive built boxes before and they never do this......but when the bass dropped down really low the outside piece of the port starts shaking? is there any way that i can reinforce that side of the port without port noise......because that is the only part of the box that this is happening?! thanks guys
