Do you have any other amp you can hook up in the car to eliminate the amp as the problem?
sadly no.. but before i sold him this amp i had it in my bed room hooked up to two 12" pioneers powered by a lawnmower battery of all things haha its been bangin for about 2 years no problems(: then i put it in his camaro and i get problems!??
-
You said oem integrated. So how are you catching the signal out from stock deck? Rca input voltage could be a issue.. what kind of amp? Kind of car? And check power and ground connection.what is the amp powering? Subs? Highs?
alright i had the remote hooked up to the 12v ignition on the fuse box, so when he hit the key the amp turned on.. no prob there and i unplug the rcas and turned on the amp with the car running it still did it! and btw.. agian the amp is fine when the car is off.. its a Phoenix Gold R2.0:1 Octane R 2.0:1 amp powering a 10 inch infinity sub at 4ohms.. the amp does this with nothing hooked to it just the - and + with a jumper off the + for a remote.. still does it im thinkin the + power cable is messed up somewhere along the line

It has to be the remote wire getting too hot causing it to cut in and out if ur remote is jumped from the positive terminal....that will cause the problem...run the remote behind the headunit or the fuse box....
if a wire is jumped from amp + to remote (which he did as a test), the amp should work perfectly fine. its the same exact thing as having a headunit's amp turn on lead wired up to it. amps draw a max of what, like .5 amps through the remote wire? unless his remote wire run is 30 gauge and 40 feet long, this doesnt cause the problem he's talking about.
agreed!

That is correct sir make sure its a 12 volt hot but able to shut off your amp when you turn the car off you do. Ot want the amp to be on when the car is not even on it will simply drain the car battery
thank you sir=)

What did you use for the amps remote turn on?

the ignition wire.. but that doesnt matter bc even if i make a jumper and use the + on the amp for my remote it still goes into protect!
-
Its goes in and out of protect at a pace to guys it like its does 2 cycles of on and off every second

hi guys just wondering what you think about the phoenix gold car audio? is it any good??
Phoenix Gold Octane-R 2.0:1 - Amplifier - 2-channel: The Octane-R series is it any good and i cannot find how many watts this thing is!!
-
who bother when good companies like audioque have better 1200w amps for 250
this amps like $94 and it has 4 and 5 stars on audiosavings..?
-
hi guys im just wondering about the autotek amps? 1200watt super sport actually.. anyways how are they? be practical please
-
what would be better a square or circle one? and why? Ill see if it fits both of them.
Your choice, I think... depends on how your box is designed based on where you're mounting it (size considerations) and then which (slotted or round or other) accommodates your sub(s) and your space... have you got a box design? with the c.f. info along with the displacement info of you particular sub(s), etc. you can tune your box port accordingly... if you're just asking aesthetic preference, i've always like round ports... so rlly its you prefrence.. but i like circle ports because theres no edges to restrict or cause port noise... btw... Keep the port(s) as far away from the enclosure sides and back as possible except for the slot type port.
Make sure the inside end of a tube or square port is at least the equivalent of one vent diameter away from the back of the box or any bracing materials.Keep the vent free from anything that may affect air flow through it.The port should also be placed as far away from the speaker cone as practical.

I need help determining a traingle port length any help?
wedge box size is
length 52
height 18.5
width 1= 8
width 2 =12
running 2 12 chaos
i think about 0.07ft per sub if u have the box divided or about 0.14 for both together jus calculate the area of your port and it your sum should tell u how long it should be..

hate to tell you but if you spun a main bearing get ready to go to the machine shop and have the block done take some pictures and post them up like to see the damage. i just rebuilt a 94 vortec 6 cylinder because of a bad main and rod bearing cost around 2500
i already know this lol i kinda thought you guys would expect that.. you know what your talking about! lol im getting the heads done, block redone and the cylinders honed.. so anyways it'll be practically brand new when im done

ive been looking for a while now i was jus wondering if you guys knew of any! ive got my old motor, btw i have a 97 silverado 1500 with the 5.7 vortec.. i hate the intake on that stupid motor.. 4 blown intake gaskets! this time it was leaking water into my oil and i spun a main and rod bearing! soo.. i think im gonna rebuilt it myself i alredy pulled it out and broke it down thats how i know what happened.. and i think i can get a rebuilt kit for like $425 so.. yea i think im gonna rebuilt it!(:
-
hi guys anyone know of A 5.7 VORTEC engine for sale i have about$1000 and thats it so anyone kno of one? im in jacksonville btw

hi guys just wondering what you think about the phoenix gold car audio? is it any good??

yea, remove the glue, you can usually pull it off by hand and it will come off in pieces. But a decent amount of rubber or ca glue and glue it back on.
thanks. and yeam imma put plenty of that shit on there!
i found that taking a cup and turning it over on top of the dust cap and adding a weight or something heavy works while its drying!

Actually speedball1978 i think it is about 35hz not exactly sure i have measure the box and calculate my port area to see but im sure its about 33-35hz its pretty low .. I like my low end(: and my pioneers are pretty cheap subs but they have alot excursion since the motor is designed to handle it.. And they like that low tuning so.. Anyways yea its about 33-35hz
-
Not rlly.. I bought my box online and it made everything soo much easier! It wa a box tuned to 33hz and it was 1.25cu perfect for my pioneer subs i have 1500 watts to them and the box only was about $80 so its cheaper that way anyways! And btw the box fit perfect and everything! Rlly easy to install and it had ports on the front in the middle it was a very nice box.. Just look up 97 silverado or w/e year ur truck is there all the same anyway i think thats the best way to go bc i couldve built a box but... I was to lazy=)
