If hes really serious about the time, effort, and cost of the equipment, why not just do a wall? You would have the whole trunk to place all the equipment.
And the person he's trying to be louder than would probably do a wall too after he see's your friends.
oh trust me i told him he's better off doin a wall, but he said no and i said ok then..he doesn't the potential he has in doin a wall, but like i said before its his ride not mine.

thanks man for the link..i think he'll satisfied with hittin at least a low 50s number..but i kno he wants to be the loudest..although i told him that if he took out his backseat then he'd have more of an advantage for numbers but he didnt wanna do it, so i was like ok dude its ur car, but i told him ill laugh if someone sees ur system and wants me to make theirs louder by taking the backseat and having fun with it lol he said nah that wont happen haha very oblivious..but we're goin with the 15" smds..2 of em..i found a dc 12k that i was gonna throw to em unless someone knows of a different and better amp..open to suggestions
-
160.1 loudest in a crx no wall sooooooooooooooo. tnespl for the win! edit my bad. Its a civic
so can a 15" smd take a dc 7.5k with no problem?..if so imma get of em..but i just wanna be sure..he wants to know to play music definitely and i told him that burping is easier and achieving big numbers by playing music is very challenging, but apparently he's up for the challenge.
-
the smd is a great woofer too but its not build for strictly spl either you arent going to get anywhere near your goal with the equipment you mentioned much less the vehicle and even much less from a trunk
oh its not gonna a burp setup completely, because the box design will allow him to get a lil bit of both worlds..music and burp..what kind of amps do u prefer?..i remember someone saying the smd subs are tested at 7k and i know he wants to either get really close to the 7k or beyond it without damaging the sub nor the coil.

Do you know how many people come on here and say "oh I wanna put 6 18's in my crx". Then we take time out of our lives to give them good recommendations and we never hear from them again. Just because they're all talk. Now, a percentage of those people actually go through with their plans. But we're talkin 2% of those people. No offense to you or your buddy. But I won't hold my breath on this build.
dont worry no offense taken..he found out that i build systems either for just to have something to bump a lil bit or to compete..i can tell someone what they need but once they hear the costs it takes and the time to do it then their mind detours differently..i told my buddy earlier today that ill do my part on the designing and picking out the equipment and then ill know if he's real about it..he told me he's serious about it..so i guess we both we'll find out..plus he said he wants to be louder than me haha i told him that wont ever happen unless he got a different vehicle with more room to work with.

He needs probably 4-5 batteries per amp
4-5 batteries?..we'll probably be using 4 rf T2500.1bdcps..2 per sub..probably the xspower d3100s
-
Tell him a different car and about 10 grand to get started. 156 is not a walk in the park.
lol well him getting a different car isnt going to happen..i told him about sound deadening his trunk and the interior and his door panels and we are gonna put 4 amps to the 2 15s and 1-2 batteries per amp and switching out his front battery and all 0ga and fuses and all the above..he knows its gonna be a lot of money.
-
Not gunna have the airspace for 2 smd 15s..
they like small boxes im sure there is plenty of room in an entire trunk for 2 15s
i told my buddy that its gonna take 916 amps extra which is 3 HOs of 300+ amps and extra batteries and the whole 9 yards and he said just let him know what he needs to achieve those numbers
-
my buddy has a '97 honda civic ex and wants to seal his trunk and use 2 15" smds and be the loudest civic with the sealed trunk system..he wants the box to be ported and hit the mid 50s..im not sure he can pull it off cuz he wants to keep his backseat..he was told that that a guy has a civic and has 2 15" dc audio xls and hittin 156db and he wants to be louder
-
just use normal 0.75 thick MDF and it will turn out just fine my dude
well thats what i was gonna do man until i was told to double it all around except for the top where the sub will be and make that 2.25in thick..i dont know much about this brand unfortunately but i got my 18" mayhem (the upgraded model of the mayhem)and its very nice and cant wait to hear it slam. If i do a single layer all over then ill have to brace the inside definitely cuz its not a light sub. Plus, i always resin and glass my boxes on the inside.

I threw it in Torres and got 34 for width, and 22 height and 22 depth with good volume(5.21 cubes) with a 4.5 wide slot port. I get 17.71 sq in per cube, with a total of 92.25 inches of port. I got it tuned to a hair under 33 hz with a port length of 34 inches to achieve these numbers.
there yeah go man grab those measurements and hit up Sampsonite on this forum and let him make you an encloser tell him i sent you
sweet man and thanks to fennygolf and cleansierra..oh quick question..why the small box measurements?..
You dont wanna feed that sub 15 cubes of air....
oh so the 6.5 cubes at 1.5" thick all around with the top baffle being 2.25in and a 5" wide slot port is not good?

you need to shorten your width
ok, but its gonna be a ported box cuz i dont mess with sealed enclosures
you need 5 to 8 cubes after displacement
oh ok..i was told different by someone else..i was givin a design that was 6.5 cubes at 1.5" thick with a 5" wide port, cuz im trying to achieve mid 50s if possible either aq3500 or saz-3500

find me some different measurements cause that encloser is WAYYYYY to big
w-53, d-22, h-21?
-
one mayhem right?
thats right
-
we need measurements before we can start designing an encloser my dude
lol my bad..my bad..haha blonde moment..w-55, d-25, h-23

my mayhem is going in my truck and im going to build a ported box 1.5" thick all around except for the top which is 2.25" thick where the sub will set or is suppose to set, anyway im open to ideas how to get the most numbers i can cuz i have a comp coming up in 10 days..ideas?
-
i have a 1990 chevy ext.cab and I'm wondering how i could i achieve 160 or more..any suggestions?
-
i've got a brand new in box saz 3500 i'm trying to sell actually....
really?..how much?
-
i need some on box design and port tune to get max numbers from a 18" mayhem. thanks..open to suggestions
-
yup but also cost more
how much more?
-
similar to DC
so the saz-3500 still out performs the crescendo and the dc?
