  1. If hes really serious about the time, effort, and cost of the equipment, why not just do a wall? You would have the whole trunk to place all the equipment.

And the person he's trying to be louder than would probably do a wall too after he see's your friends.

oh trust me i told him he's better off doin a wall, but he said no and i said ok then..he doesn't the potential he has in doin a wall, but like i said before its his ride not mine.

  2. thanks man for the link..i think he'll satisfied with hittin at least a low 50s number..but i kno he wants to be the loudest..although i told him that if he took out his backseat then he'd have more of an advantage for numbers but he didnt wanna do it, so i was like ok dude its ur car, but i told him ill laugh if someone sees ur system and wants me to make theirs louder by taking the backseat and having fun with it lol he said nah that wont happen haha very oblivious..but we're goin with the 15" smds..2 of em..i found a dc 12k that i was gonna throw to em unless someone knows of a different and better amp..open to suggestions

  3. the smd is a great woofer too but its not build for strictly spl either you arent going to get anywhere near your goal with the equipment you mentioned much less the vehicle and even much less from a trunk

oh its not gonna a burp setup completely, because the box design will allow him to get a lil bit of both worlds..music and burp..what kind of amps do u prefer?..i remember someone saying the smd subs are tested at 7k and i know he wants to either get really close to the 7k or beyond it without damaging the sub nor the coil.

  4. Do you know how many people come on here and say "oh I wanna put 6 18's in my crx". Then we take time out of our lives to give them good recommendations and we never hear from them again. Just because they're all talk. Now, a percentage of those people actually go through with their plans. But we're talkin 2% of those people. No offense to you or your buddy. But I won't hold my breath on this build.

dont worry no offense taken..he found out that i build systems either for just to have something to bump a lil bit or to compete..i can tell someone what they need but once they hear the costs it takes and the time to do it then their mind detours differently..i told my buddy earlier today that ill do my part on the designing and picking out the equipment and then ill know if he's real about it..he told me he's serious about it..so i guess we both we'll find out..plus he said he wants to be louder than me haha i told him that wont ever happen unless he got a different vehicle with more room to work with.

  5. Tell him a different car and about 10 grand to get started. 156 is not a walk in the park.

lol well him getting a different car isnt going to happen..i told him about sound deadening his trunk and the interior and his door panels and we are gonna put 4 amps to the 2 15s and 1-2 batteries per amp and switching out his front battery and all 0ga and fuses and all the above..he knows its gonna be a lot of money.

  6. just use normal 0.75 thick MDF and it will turn out just fine my dude

well thats what i was gonna do man until i was told to double it all around except for the top where the sub will be and make that 2.25in thick..i dont know much about this brand unfortunately but i got my 18" mayhem (the upgraded model of the mayhem)and its very nice and cant wait to hear it slam. If i do a single layer all over then ill have to brace the inside definitely cuz its not a light sub. Plus, i always resin and glass my boxes on the inside.

  7. I threw it in Torres and got 34 for width, and 22 height and 22 depth with good volume(5.21 cubes) with a 4.5 wide slot port. I get 17.71 sq in per cube, with a total of 92.25 inches of port. I got it tuned to a hair under 33 hz with a port length of 34 inches to achieve these numbers.

there yeah go man grab those measurements and hit up Sampsonite on this forum and let him make you an encloser tell him i sent you

sweet man and thanks to fennygolf and cleansierra..oh quick question..why the small box measurements?..

You dont wanna feed that sub 15 cubes of air....

oh so the 6.5 cubes at 1.5" thick all around with the top baffle being 2.25in and a 5" wide slot port is not good?
