i have a sorta complete stystem the car come with a stock amp and the music is pretty loud and i just added the amp, wiring, subwoofer. i dont know how to add pictures on here so if you want you can help me by telling me how or look at my profile.
1 15 fi bl sub
1 rockford fosgate t2000 amp
custom ported box
0 gauge wire for power and ground wire
So why post in this thread??
If you are trying to get nominated for SOTM there is a nomination thread
-
Well if your stock unit was giving the amp a higher voltage preout than the unit u just bought and installed then the gain will be off on the amp and will most likely be quieter
My opinion is that you don't need a new eq or processor as much as you need a new 4 channel and speakers... I mean "no highs, no lows, must be Bose"
-
Edit 2 - and the higher battery doesnt "charge" the lower... i mean, amperage wise,... what does a battery 'pull" ???? To me, they will find equal, between the 2, and rest there.... and cutting it half life?? wow... i dunno....
I believe that the lower charged battery will pull from the higher charged battery because it will try to get to an equilibrium as stated before I think that it's something about how if say one battery in a bank is drained because it has given more amps to the amp than the rest then the rest of the batteries will be pulled from until they are equal voltage
Sorry if that is confusing I just remember seeing that in a thread pretty recently but I forgot how they put it
I'm sure alpine can expand on it or tell me if I'm completely wrong. Lol

Yeah man I'm looking at that one for myself
Looks very promising

The pioneer DEH-80PRS which is one step down from the top I believe but it still has 3 way xovers and seems like a nice deck
Edit: and 3 sets of 5V preouts, time alignment, and seems to be geared toward sq

Power=heat. It's a misconception that clipping is the cause of warm woofers.
your going to get in so much trouble for that :]
Kay, lemme rephrase that. Its a misconception that clipping is the ONLY cause of warm woofers,
Well that's why companies incorporate cooling into the motor so it can handle more power do it will most likely get warm as drew (noobtastic) said
But it shouldn't get really hot. That would be caused by box error (which is pretty much ruled out for this situation) or clipping which creates unnecessary heat and more than the vc can handle=blown

I have lots of good things about the d series and was looking at them myself but I have no first hand experience so I'm in for someone who has to post their opinion

1.2K and 2K shipped to 57110

Liked cuz that's some really cool work
-
I would def buy the black one with the dc audio vertically and the white one with all the little logos
Especially if they came in those sweet boxes u made up! Love ur work man

For people that are tuned to about 32hz, how low can you play and what subs are your running?
I'm at 34 Hz but with a bigger box so that helps lower my f3 point and can play down to as low as my ssf goes at 25hz. I don't really see the point of any lower since you cant hear it anyways. Using a 15" level 4 in a 4 cube box
-
I am tuned to 34Hz at 4 cubes and I really like how low it gets but I just wish I had a little better upper 40s-60 output (it might be from having too little port area tho.. I'm at like 11in/cube
Does anyone know if more port area would extend my feq response? I know it's all trial and error but I don't really wanna tear out my box that's glassed in to take the chance of maybe helping the output (which I am already happy with just thinking there is more potential)
Edit: And I'm running a level 4 15" d2 off a mb quart 1500 amp prob rising higher than Compton on 4/20 tho..

Do those peerless hds work well in doors? Or do they need to be in an enclosure?
-
I voted get the 1000-1 just because then they would both be getting the exact same signal
I know it wouldn't matter much if the lpf or ssf are off by one or two Hz but I just like everything to be even I guess
-
Any ballpark estimate price wise? Like dd-1 range? Lower?
-
I believe all you need to do special is add on of these http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_i331_line-out-converters.html
And you should be set just as any aftermarket HU

Recone kit for 15" level 4 dual 1 ohm To 57110
And since I already have a carbon cap on mine right now if I ever need a redone could I use the old one by cutting it off or do I need to buy one new?
-
The 1 18 has more cone area and probably close if not more motor force as the 2 lvl 4s
But every comparison comes with a grain of salt as it depends just as much on the enclosure and power and vehicle etc..
-
^^^ or what he said
-
Well if you could extend the port outside the box then that would lower your tuning and depending on how far you can extend it then you should be able to take out those 3in spacers to give you more port area
And another idea is you could put something in the chamber (not port) to take up space and lowering box volume while staying the port dimensions the same should lower tuning frequency
So if I were you I would take out the spacers and extend the port then if it's not low enough still put something like a brick in the box
-
Can you extend the ports outside the box any? It looks like it's close to the back of your seats but that's the only thing I can think of

I hate main stream subwoofers like JL audio, Rockford, Kickers...they're so overly priced because of their name...
Saying you hate Rockford anything on this forum is just asking for the hammer lol just playin man I know what you mean everyone in my area all they know is kicker jl alpine etc.. and they swear by it
I got my DC level 4 and all my friends were like HOLY SHIAT that is a huge magnet! And I'm like you guys have no idea.. They wouldn't believe me if I showed them a pic of a level 5 let alone a level 6. Oh and the one friend that has 2 Fi BLs and an AQ 2200 has heard of DC subs and he told me that there was a level 7 for sure lol -smiled and agreed then turned my back and facepalmed
