The new SA 8, v3 I think it is. They look totally beast
-
not trying to tell you what to do just letting you what has worked for me and a few people i know
Yeah sorry man I was writin that other post while u posted this and it's cool thanks for the helpful advice. I just already have the setup done and I'm sick of messin with stuff. I just want to be done with it and be able to listen to it with out that horrid rattle
-
Dude I get it about the band pass! Haha I just don't know how to make one and I don't want to hassle with making another box I just want a simple way to get a rattle to stop from my trunk
-
don't want to hijack the thread, but i have a related-ish question:
so adding a layer of damp around the trunk seal in the top rear of my lid (by the window glass) to help it press against the factory weather seal will help with the vibration, but what about protection from water and leaks?
what about adding the thick 1 1/2" 3M weather stripping you can get at lowe's or home depot next to the existing seal?
I believe he meant to put the deadener on the seal close to the latch since that's what is rattling So that area wouldnt really be subjected to alot of water trying to get in so I think it wouldnt affect if much in that respect. I may use your extra weather stripping idea thought because I'm not sure if I would need the deadener to be used basically just as a spacer
-
It would be pretty sick but I don't have a clue about how to design a bandpass box
-
Also since I have a convertible I have no rear deck. That's an awesome setup tho I wish I had those box making skills
-
I wish I had room for a bandpass.. I'm worried about fitting in a ported I might need some real creativity to make it work lol
-
Wow cmon no vs threads.. Gosh..
Haha very nice dude that's pretty amazing
-
Oh good idea man that's basically what I need is for it to be really hard to close
-
I think I know what you mean jarrid but since it's either the actual latch or a mechanism near the latch I think if I used an expanding foam it would either not close or worse if I did close it it wouldn't open
If I misunderstood ur description please correct me
nope you understood me perfectly ... I misunderstood where the problem was lol. maybe try some peel and seel under the edge of the trunk around the latch and see if that works (til you get money for actual sound deadener....)
and good thought on it not opening after closing....lmao didnt even think of that HA that would suck
Haha yeah I'd be totally fucked too cuz my seats dont fold down haha. But yeah I'm thinking I should just screw around with putting something on the latch so it's not metal on metal maybe like metal on tape or your idea of peel and seal that will make it not rattle really loud

+1 on the AQ1200D also

This is the mb quart Q 1500 and it's cea compliant. $179.99

It's cea compliant I guess so it should

save the money and then buy a damplifier
did you try with audio technix sound deadner???
But my thought is how would any kind of sound deadener stop the whole trunklid from vibrating up and down against the bottom male part of the latch. I think it's more of a sound pressure related vibration compared to a resonant frequency ya know

Duck tape. Duh.
Edit: Gorilla tape.
Tape what? Like honestly I don't know how I can stop that latch from rattling.
-
YES!!! That's what it is! So how do I stop it?
-
I have a level 4 15" in the trunk of my Chrysler Sebring and the trunk sounds like pure shiiiit It's sounds like the license plate but I took it off and it's not and I CAN NOT find what it is! It's really pissin me off and I was wondering in getting some cld or something similar would help or if sealing all the seams of metal with blue etc would be better. And I don't exactly have $100 sitting around to get a trunk bundle of damplifier so hopefully I can find a somewhat cheap way to stop those damn rattles!
-
Normally sub back and port back is loudest I believe
-
Wait sorry is it 2400 watts at 4 ohms?
-

I think you are talking about the carbon Kevlar dust caps and they are available in all sizes but I think the carbon fiber cones are still in the works
