ok, what is the wiring configuration to get 1 ohms final?
-
how would I wire my subs to .7? Each coil rests at .7, so what would be the wiring configuration?
-
I have 2 big Interstate batteries, 1 C&D battery, a Mechman 300A alt, and 4 runs of 1/0.
-
Not at .175 ohms, in fact Ive never heard of someone running one this low... I know the amp is built like a tank, and I've seen them ran on .33 before.

I know I'm going to get a lot of crap for this, but... I have 2 AA Mayhem 18's that are dual 1's but they rest at .7 each. I have them wired in parallel at .175 ohms. But every time I try to run them in series, they get stinky. So i want to try series parallel and run them at 1.4 ohms. I upgraded my alt today to a Mechman 300A, and my amp gets hot very quickly, and shuts off before my voltage even drops to 13.0v Also, my 300A Mechman doesn't seem to make my system louder. My amp still shuts off around the same volume that it did when I just had the stock 140A alt. With the stock 140A alt, my voltage charged at 14.4, but the Mechman is only charging at 13.8v, even when i rev my rpm's.. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

For the heat part it creates heat because higher voltage means less resistance, example high voltage power lines like 400kv are like that because power companies lose less power to heat loss, its more efficient, when voltage drops resistance increases and cause lots of heat.
An amp is just a circuit, its stupid, it will do what its designed for, so say its designed to output a certain power, if the voltage drops it will try and pull more amps to create that power until it burns out. With it pulling more amps than its designed for and the heat increasing from resistance, amps die.
So, is it more efficient to run an amp at 18v?

If you have an Android phone, you can download the app "True Tone". I use it, and it works great.

I had a bxi1608d on my SS XXX 18, and it pushed it fairly well, and never got hot.

Awesome vid. What dong is that?

Epoxy that bish! Unless you plan on removing it in the future.

What brand are you talking about?
-
What do you run in? USACI, MECA, IASCA, etc.

What's the size of the box, what amp, port size?

I had to post this, made my day.

I understand that, but I've never done a big build before and I thought this would be a great one to start with.
-
I appreciate the help. And the reason I'm doing 24 12's is bc I'm getting them for $100 each, so I thought it'd be a fun build for cheap.

Gotta learn somehow. Right?

Ok, thanks bro.

I'll be doing 8 D4 subs on each amp. I would like to be wired to .5 or 1 ohm final
-
Thanks bro, I'm not exactly sure how to do that so I'll have to do a bit of reading. I'm just used to wiring in series or parallel.

I'm doing a rebuild with 24 12's that are D4's and I'll be using 3 amps. What are my wiring options as far as Impedance? Thanks.

look into the Audiopipe 3000 watt amp.
Need some help!
