8 8 woofer on 2k rms
Hertz es200 all day long
I've had nothing but bad luck with hertz i returned 3 300d that had faulty positive tinsel leads
and i blew up the ep1d 1000 watt class d amp 3 times. i got the audio shop here to take back the amp back
and gave me a jl 1000/1 for an extra $650> Anyway i say no to hertz i dont want anymore head aches.
so far im leaning towards the sundown sa-8 and rockford fosgate's P2D2-8 and i still dont know ho much a dc level 2 8 would be????
and do you guys think this set up is hairtick worthy???
-
dd 1508, dc level 2 8", sundown 8
all good subs, i wanna own all 3 but yeh LOL id do whats cheapest either way you will be either happy as it dose what expected, or sad cause you expected to much from 8" subs or bad box ect ect..
i found the sundowns for 135 so thats no too bad
anyone know how much the dc would be ?????
-
I like my DD1508... 8 8s is a good bit of cone area, and that's a nice amount of power. I think you would be pleased with the 1508. And you'll have room to add more power if you need
the dd 1508 are sexy as hell but but shipping plus duties ontop of the price of the subs will be over $2500
-
The sundown sa-8 is your best bet. It's a beast compared to all those mainstream brands you mentioned, and they can take some power.
will two 1000/1 be able to power 8 of those though?
-
Like the title says I'm wondering what eight inch subs would be best??
I'm putting eight 8" subs in a 2010 fusion sport
the box will be ported. I want this system to be a mini ground pounder
I want to be heard before seen, and possibly do hair tricks. The amps are 2
JL 1000/1v2 This system will be a daily driver and will be played at full volume when ever I can so I need good speakers
I was looking at jlw7, Rockford, and sundown but I never heard of sundown before
here in Regina (Saskatchewan Canada).(and yes I know I live in the city that rhymes with fun lol) there isn't much here beside the mainstream crap.
so what sub?
is mini grounder status achievable?
and are hair tricks possible?
thx again guys

im a bit slow today but it sounds like the frnt batt... best thing i could tell u is to get a 0 gauge fused link and run it to a distribution block ....then to you wires...the 4 gauge (if this is the frnt batt) would be pcm wire, alt wire & the pcm or fuse-box wire...the alt should have a inline fuse already (and you need to run 0 gauge frm batt to alt with a fuse) pcm/fuse box should already be fused & the starter wire does not need to be fused(i have not seen 1 starter fused in the 20 years i have been messing with cars)...gap insurance is a insurance policy you can get through most dealers when you buy a car that will pay of the loan no matter what you do to the car that totals it...ie wreck,ELECTRICAL FIRE,or any thing else that would put you with out a car....lol
ok so i went to ford and this is what i found out:
the dual fuse assembly as ford calls it has: two 4 gauge wires coming out
-one with a fuse of 120a is for the power distribution
-one with a fuse of 200a is for the Generator
these ones don't have a fuse:
-one 4 gauge for the battery junction box
-one 8 gauge for the starter motor
and the two I added:
-one 4 gauge changing to 1/0 gauge asap for amps with fuse
-one 1/0 for alternator with fuse
what i'm looking for is something to hold all the fuses for these wires
make it look presentable. thx for the help so far
p.s. I wish i could get gap insurance but i live in Saskatchewan Canada the provincial government has the rights to the insurance. it kinda blows

i made some copper plates that you screw to the battery terminal then the plate has four threaded holes for your ring terminals. makes it look a lot nicer and a ton easier to work on. but they only work if you have a battery without posts. im not using them anymore and i have tons of materials to make more if you want some.
i need these wires to have fuses on them they are all rated differently
thx though
-
Why do you need Ford? Just follow the wires and see where they go. Pretty easy to figure out.
Are you replacing factory wires? Or just trying to figure out how to hook them to your new battery?
i went to ford cause i have lifetime warranty and i have to abide by some of their rules.
and im doing a few things here ive done the big three 1/0
power to amp 4 gauge but goin to 1/0
and new battery
the set-up ford had to hold two fuses doesn't fit for this battery so i have to come up with something new
-
gunna go talk to ford and find what those wires are
i'll be back to update in a bit
and why would i need gap coverage ?????
-
ok one 1/0 is for the amps in the back 120amp fuse
one 1/0 is for alternator 150amp fuse
two 4 gauge for two oem amps I believe one is 200amp fuse and one is 120amp fuse
another 4 gauge unknown
and 0ne 8 gauge unknown
this is in my baby 2010 ford fusion sport awd
and it has a a factory premium sony system in there 12 speakers 2 amps 390rms
in the back i got one JL 1000/1v2 soon to be two of them
and two 12in hertz 300D 500rms each, soon to be eight 8inch subs not sure of brand yet thinking of JLW7
there any thing else???

hi everyone im new here and i have come to a problem that i can't seem to fix.
I have
two 1/0 gauge wires that need to be fuse,
two 4 gauge wires that need to be fused,
0ne 4 gauge wire non fused and
one 8 gauge wire none fused
these wires all are going to the positive terminal and it looks like Medusa's head lol.
I have now bought a red cap and it has two positive terminals.
so here is the question what is the nicest way to set this up?
I was looking for a fused distribution box for two 1/0 gauge and two 4 gauge but I cant find one
anywhere. Does anybody know where i can get one or what else would look nice?
p.s. this is going under the hood.
