  1. I built a box for the 1st gen durangos. Now I am questing my durango choice. I haven't heard any bad things about them other then its fuel efficiency.

I was looking at the blazer love the looks but its pretty small.

Cargo Area Length @ Floor to Seat 2 (in): 35.2

Cargo Box Width @ Wheelhousings (in): 40.9

    1st gen durango

Cargo Area Length @ Floor to Seat 2 (in): 51.3

Cargo Box Width @ Wheelhousings (in): 48.2

  2. Maybe an 02/03 durango. I think they are the best looking of the durangos. They are pretty damn small for an SUV but have a large cargo area (cargo bay?). Opinions on that? Other then the ridiculously low MPG they get... I dont know what up with dodge but there is no reason they should be getting that low MPG.

I have heard nothing good at all about the 02/03 Durango's. They fall apart quickly.. IMO

What sort of problems? Thanks for the heads up.

This is where I get some of my info. This is the dodge section. If you haven't noticed I am partial to dodges. But I I will take a look at anything =P

  3. The smds will fit under the window line on a magnum?

    Yeah they aren't that tall.

    Doubt it.

    Tahoe,suburban,van,wagon,truck with a blow through?

I can get 10.34 cubes after sub/port/bracing displacement and still be under the window line.I do my research! lol I want to get 12^3 only way I can do that is to go higher. Couple inches is no big deal. Adding just 2 inches in height would bring me to 12.07 cubes :woot: . And I have room for amps and 5 batteries!

So far everything that has been suggested was either too small or I just don't like it. You guys have brought up cars I haven't thought of so this thread is accomplishing what I wanted. :good:

Because I am only going to run 2 18s I want the smallest vehicle I can get them in and still have four usable seats. So I want to stay away from the large SUVs.

    EDIT:

I designed the box in google sketchup. The box is such an odd design I cant figure out how to build the port... <_< <_<

  4. The Chevy Suburban has plenty of room enough to the point I could add another sub or two if I wanted.

I feel like its an old persons ride though... <_< Just me?

Gas mileage on these tho :/

Yeah true... There is like NOTHING with cargo space though...

You know youre a basshead when you pick the car around the system. Whenever Im choosing a vehicle, I always ask myself (how many subs can I fit in there if I walled it off) :drink40:

    I know right lmao.

Walls are cool and all but they rarely look clean. Just seems out of place. They are a good show though

  5. Not sure if this is the right place but here I am...

Doing this the RIGHT way. Picking the car to fit the system LOL

I am going to use two SMD 18's in this future ride. Unfortunately they need breathing room. I need something that I can keep the back seats and have the subs bellow the window line. I thought the dodge magnum would have plenty of room. Looks like I can only get 8^3 with it sitting comfortably and if I wanted the minimum of 10^3 it looks like the port will be right up against the door. I really don't want to go bellow 12^3 for these anyways.

    What I am looking for.

    No latter then a 2001.*

    Preferably a smaller vehicle.

    4/5 seats.*

    Large cargo.*

This will end up as my daily. So gas millage is a + considering there will extra weight in the vehicle.

Price must be reasonable... Check out the price on SXT Magnums. You will get an idea of what I am looking for.*

    *Mandatory.

    Thanks for helping,

    J.

  6. Just ordered a pair of Shok Buds, will give my own review of them when they come in. All the reviews I've read make them out to be incredible, especially for the low price.

And they have just received an upgrade :D

Keep me in mind when you get them =)

    EDIT:

I own both of these http://m.klipsch.com/products/productdetail/Image+S4+Black+In-Ear+Headphones/part_number=1010471/3579.0.1.1.75768.18062.0.0.0?pp=8& http://www.klipsch.com/custom-3 The s4's sound great, the bass response is good, and they won't break the bank. The custom 3's sound amazing you can close your eyes and it's like being in the room with who ever your listing to, but they were pricey when I picked them up and a quick google search only had a used pair on amazon

Damn those custom 3's look like they were pretty good... Diggin the s4's for android I will look into it some more. Thanks!

Doesn't look like I have any fans for the V-Moda. They seem like a solid earbud all metal construction and they don't use those rubber covered wires. Seems like they put more money into the wire and case than the speaker haha.

  7. Beats by dre play low... They literally shake on your head. But what is your budget?

I heard about those. How are the mids and highs? Keep in mind I am looking for earbuds/earphones not head phones.

I would say 150-200 is my budget. These are for work so there is a chance damage may occur.

    Thanks,

    J.

i really don't like the beats for the price. they're nice headphones, but a lot of the price is hype IMO.

OP are you looking for over the ear or in ear?

    In ear.

  8. Ya' know Sanitarium, I personally didn't think your reply was so negative. I pretty much of agree. I mean, if the OP has so much money, that it just doesn't even matter, that's all fine. But generally speaking, people usually do start out with smaller, cheaper equipment, and then by the time they get all of that stuff dialed in, they are totally ready to move up to the big, expensive stuff,

Heck, if you can make smaller, cheaper stuff sound good, you KNOW that stepping up to SMD subs (or similar), and several Kwts is going to be redonculous ! :)

    Peace,

    Fish

100 square inches of port for 14 cubes?

keep lurking, you have a SHIT TON more to learn before jumping into the deep end with that high end of equipment.

Yeah. boiler was just trying to fuck with me. then OP took HIM seriously.. these new guys don't understand i'm just trying to save them heartache and wasted money.

Whatever OP, do what you want. I was willing to help you learn the in's and outs of this but now.....

Sure didn't look like you were willing to help.

Hey looks its Fish! I love your truck.

I do plan on lurking around here for a while. I expect criticism and I am sure these are some very beginner questions. Its not like there are a ton of people that use this sub. Maybe I am wrong but I don't want to do this twice... Put a small test system in just to rip it out and do a bigger one. I got time and patience if it takes another year big whoop.

  10. If you dont list the amps we cant say yes or no, because each could be rated at either RMS or peak..

As to cabin gain, it will always be a gain, just only to a point. There is a possibility that the vehicle could lessen SPL if you put the subs and/or port in the completely wrong direction, but without knowing your enclosure style there is no "correct" direction to tell you yet.

I message you the two amps.

Subs would be facing up behind the rear seat. I assume that's what you wanted to know.
