Amps:
12k
9k
7.5k
5k
Thanks

Anything more then 600w daily is too much power when the system isnt adequately safe guarded against abuse. I have had no problem with the 5k on mine, but every build is different
You ever put up that 5k video yet?
I need to make some people believe. They keep saying skar subs will blow before you get to that point.

The link is pretty misleading lol
Ha sorry I changed it

Unwound and shit haha.
If you don't have a dd-1, I would use a dmm like you have done.
But save up and get one for sure.
Ha that had to be the sound at the beginning of it screwing up, it starting to unwind.
Maybe try to find a used one, even a shop that has one.

Tbh it was prolly multiple things on my part of being just dumb: clipping, trying for to much power, voltage drop, and port area (only 1 4in aeroport not good haha)
Oh this thing is beefy as h3ll plus the spider is thick.

What about your box. Is your box build to specs? Or a prefab box.
It is now since I inverted the second sub. I would NEVERRRRRR use a prefab box, built the box myself to 1.8 cubes and a aeroport tuned to ~35 hertz.

TILL I GET ANOTHER CONEEEEEEE

Aren't you finding it to be even more expensive without some way of accurately and correctly setting gains? I mean...$125 or however much your sub cost shipped plus recone.
Yes I am. But you have to think also I won't really use the meter but maybe 3 or 4 times and that's all, now if I could rent one that would be nice. $45 plus shipping for a recone, but I do get your point.

The sax 1200d and I set it with a multimeter, not the best but then I'm also not the experienced pro like most car audio people.
-
Reconing will be done in time for sure.
As far as the dd-1 aren't they expensive? O.o
-
Wish I had one but no...

Screwed up a few times while talking, rambling, and forgetting half the stuff I learned in the past months. Ah well you get the point damn thing blew on me.

well all mono amps are internally bridged (except dual mono) designs..that said, you only put a 1ohm load on the amp. d2 parallelled is 1ohm, it doesnt "paralell" at the amp again because its internally bridged tho... and those amps do over 1500w at 1ohm, so Im not surprised at all that it blew it. These are 600w subs, and anytime you are talking about 2.5x rated power and it blows, its not a surprise. And since music is dynamic, rise shouldnt be counted upon to make it "safe" to over power a sub... I will always over power subs, and will do it in a considerate fashion, but if I ever smoke 1 I will not be upset at all because I know I abused the equipment. And Skar recones are cheap
Oh well then.
I wanted to see what power handling it could handle and I guess I gave it to much. Really? They sell recones, you must have to ask kevin directly then because their not on the website.

how was a d2 at .5? And those little amps are pretty damn powerful so that doesnt surprise me
Parallel-parallel
As from what people have told me about the amp inside the circuit board its a parallel hookup.

Since this just happened thought id say. Just blew a skar vvx 12 d2 on a sax 1200d. Pretty sure everything was set right, about 3/4 power at 0.5 half ohm, and always above 12.5 volts.
*depression*

Yea were going through the engine now seeing what kind of problems it might have, ordered a couple parts. As far as the body, mostly aftermarket, aftermarket body kit, carbon fiber hood, and 17 inch wheels thats about it. Oh plus a s200 chip

Heres what I did, its pretty nice just give them more power for sure. It sounded nice but with less then 600 rms on each sub it was lacking air movement. JMO.

My friends trying to sell me his 94 honda civic ex with a swapped high compression b20z vtec fully rebuild with racing gear and has less then 5,000 miles on it. When he put it on the dyno it had 200 hp and 147 torque; the only thing stock is the starter. The problems are it needs a new water pump and the timing needs to be reset. Some odd and end things too like the inter cooler was taken out to put the motor in and thats it. The asking price is $1300.
Suggestions on this being a good deal?

^^ definitely

they made a wall in the back seat?

Ill have a mustang haha lot less airspace than you.

with 3.78cu @ 32hz its pretty scary to watch them play a 32-35hz tone lol, let alone a 27-30, i get scared that im going to rip a surround.
Ha how you think a lower frequency plus more air space is going to do? make me shit myself

Ah thanks for the update. I'll just go with crescendo instead since dc's out.
