Any tips on comfortable, safe fiberglass grinding?
-
how does it sound with the ports facing up?
It actualy sounds really good in my opinion, my original plan was to have them on the sides but the wouldn't have been able to get enough air with the shape of the trunk, this box does get loud for what's in it though

ok so this is the second half of my Honda Accord build. Sorry no pictures of the box or front speakers or wiring but here is what the system consists of at the moment, (pics Soon)
JVC head unit (crappy came with the car)
Cadence EQ/line driver 3 RCA out.
Kenwood 7" coaxials in the doors
Kenwood five way coaxials in the rear deck
2 Kicker CVR 12" woofers wired to 1ohm
Custom built box, by me, 1.75cf Per side, tuned to 28ish Hz
Rockford Fosgate T500-1 For the bass, (812watts at 1ohm)
Boston Acoustic GT475 for the speakers, 75 watts a chan at 4ohms
shuriken 20amp/hour battery, (mostly the dist block)
some DB link 4awg (more like 6awg)
some scosche 8awg
60 feet of scosche 14awg speaker wire
3 17ft db link shielded RCA's
to get started, finishing the trunk...

I'm aware of the 2ohm load thing I thought kicker might be able to do it people run .5ohms on Rockford amps all the time and kicker is a decent brand
no. its wired too low. i dont understand why the other guys on here cant figure that out. its not an undervolt problem. unless you had a 40 amp alt and an rc car battery under the hood, you wont drop to 9v and cause the amp to protect from undervoltage.
Hmmmmmm

As a poor teenager it's difficult for me to convince people they need 3 batteries and 600 dollars worth of ho alternator but your right about the electrical upgrade, he's doing 14.2volts at idal at the amp no music on
-
when does it shut off.full volume, half, quarter etc..
About half
-
Good thing it's only a temporary setup

Two dvc 4ohm per coil wired in parallel down to 1ohm
-
Undervolt, amp goes into protect if it's getting less than 10.5 volts...
-
Ya I was hoping those kicker zx series could handle a little 1ohm guess not ha

My buddy's amp keeps shutting off since he hooked up a second sub today, I figured he was having an undervolt since it was my sub that worked this morning on my amp and no thermal so I recommended a bigger fuse he had a 60amp fuse on a 600 watt system, with scoche 4awg, am I full of crap?

really interesting, thanks for the info, still not sure about bending round ports though...Better read this one:
http://www.jlaudio.com/header/Support/Tutorials/Enclosure+Ports/Tutorial%3A+Enclosure+Ports/656168
The Torres is based on this document, the and correction applies only once.

Looking for input on bending ports, kicker recommends adding 1/2 the port height to the total length for each bend, is it the sme for round ports? What do you guys think?
-
The t1500 probably has the best build quality of all those amps
-
I would say as long as the bats are both 12volt your fine, and I think the Rockford will do plenty of power the cp series is great.
-
AA chaos are 800 rms each so 1600 total the t1500 births above 1700 at 1 ohm usually so its a good amp for those woofers, also I don't worry much about mixing battery brands. As far as the biggest amp? Probably a good idea to stay under 2k rms watts or those woofers could have a hard time with the power.

I read some where that rubbing down with talc helps, and I guess I should get a decent respirator not one of those crappy 50 cent masks.
