you could cut teh coils on the front, but how it rides will depend on how you cut them,, id use a bandsaw, and id only cut a coil, it wont ride as good as stock, a little "stiffer",, if you use a torch, it will change the spring rates, the heat will mess with the characteristics of the metal, and most likely will ride like poo

the 4.3 in his Jimmy would sound completely different than your grand am

you could install it yourself, even if you dont have a welder,, at just about any parts store, in the exhaust section,, theres dozens of different sizes of reducers, couplers and clamps, so all you would have to do is cut yours off, and bolt everything back on,, but i prefer to have them welded personally

Between the two of my trucks,, both a 4.3 and both have exhaust on them,, i like the one with my Flowmaster 40 series on it,, i have a Magnaflow Highflow Cat. Converter on it with 3 inch exhaust piping all the way out,, and turndowns on the muffler,, it sounds pretty deep at idle and lower rpms,, once you get to the upper rev range, it isnt as deep, but its no where near rice

I have a 1997 chevrolet S10 that has a vortec v8 5.7 and i would like to lower it and do a body kit? I would like to go as low as i can without any problems. What would you sugguest doing? I heard you could just cut the front springs and flip over the leaf springs? any ideas?
how much money would you like to spend? Did the v8 swap not lower it a bit in the front? You can buy drop spindles for the front, several companies make them,, id reccomend Belltech or DJM over any others. Cutting the springs is a cheap way to do about it, but if you do, cut them with a bandsaw, a torch will heat up the entire spring and drastically change the spring rates,, in other words itll be extremely soft. Your axle is already over your leafs in the back, so you either need drop blocks, or drop leaf springs. sorry if this doesnt really make sense,, but if you got any questions, pm me and ill be glad to help

ya know, for some reason i had the same prediction
