Added some brackets... despite weighing about 250lbs, it was still sliding around so i made some bracket. they dont look great but they work and they'll be covered anyway
dampmatted the toop of tghe rear deck to lessen the rattle some more
-
your running a 5500? what size wire was that from the battery? good job on the install i aint trying to be a dick just kinda nosey lol. I had some mofos bout 3 years ago my first system and they wammed in my bmw. Then i bought my 87 caprice and dropped them in there for a little bit and they were mean. But with that much trunk space any sub coulda wammed. I swear i coulda put about 5 bodies in there with my subs lol
It's a "5500" more like 2100-2200 if i'm lucky still slams tho and the power and ground are 4awg (good stuff tho so the wire portion is thicker than most 4 gauge wire)

Looks pretty good how about some pics of the car itself.
I have a bunch of picks of it in my "garage" entry for it and thanks
-
Oh, and don't sweat the subs or anything.
We care about the pride you take in your work, not the brands you use
thanks man, i'm really tryin hard with this system... my boss makes fun of me for how anal i'm being...

I use a glue/paint sprayer hooked up to an air compressor with some contact adhesive. just made some overlay on the vinyl and sprayed both sides then carfully pressed down the vinyl.
-
wiring subs into box:
crammin the "recommended" 8awg wire into one of the subs
the ultimate way to mark the neg speaker wire
one sub in and wired
both subs wired up in parallel down to 1 ohm... speaker wire run out of box and siliconed up
finishing putting subs in the box:
screwing them in...
spray painted the back of the box just so no wood shows when i put the amp on and make a face plate
Made a cut in the trunk carpet so i can fold it up and still access the batt and spare with the box in
Time for some sound dampenning mat:
I did the side pannels of the trunk and the trunk lid too but forgot to get pics...
And finally...
I'll post a vid at some point (if anybody wants to see a specific song just leave it in the comments) and i'll post more pics after i make face pannels etc.

Finally adding some more pics. Got the subs in and playing and they slam pretty hard:). Just have some asthetic stuff left to do and then my bass will be done!
Finishing off the box:
Measuring up the holes
holes measured up
cutting the holes out the old fashioned way
1st hole cut
both cut
laying up the vinyl for the front of the box
vynil glued on and cut to size
Running some wires:
the old zip tie trick
Finding an ignition fuse to hook up a fuse adapter to for the remote wire
LOC all wired up (its just stuck up there temporarilly at this point
Remote wire hooked up and ran

Finally started my build!!!
I am starting out by putting two Power Acoustik Mofo 154X subs in my charger. I'll Be hooking them up to a BAMF 5500.1D amp. I'll tryto post pics as i go but i don't have many yet. (btw i know that power acoustik is crap but i'm 17 and a little limited on $$)
got my power and ground done
it's to easy to run wires in my trunk...
didn't take any pics while i was building my box... here's a quick test fit before i put on the outer baffle which will also serve as a foot/stand and hold it parrallel
attaching the outer baffle
didn't have the money for the integration kit and a new headunit so I decided to go with an LOC... got a good one from my boss for pretty cheap. here it is along with my amp turn on wire and switch
just another pic of the switch
I'll try to get more pics as i continue my build and update as i get them.

One solution: buy a real computer not something that apple designs to "look good" with crappy internals (buy a pc if u use it right the are better)
-
so it's lookin like I have to use an LOC. Thanks guys I'll look into the ones you suggested.
-
Sorry I forgot my photobucket pswd...
Here's the factory headunit:

If I lived there I would then argue that the government of the state is trying to be above the law by violating a law imposed on citizens because they are trying to troll trolls
-
I didn't think it would but i don't want to use an LOC but i still need to be able to control some of that stuff after i install my system
-
I want to put a dual 15 system in my new charger and 1. i was wonderring if anybody knows if the stock 4.3 in touchscreen headunit has RCA outs so i don't have to take apart the dash to find out and 2. the headunit has important functions (part of climate control, steering wheel controls, hands free bluetooth calling, and some other stuff) and i was wanderring if anybody knows a way I could keep these feature with a new headunit
-
Just wondering what the pros and cons of the 2 are an what everyone's opinion is on which i should do for 2 PA mofo 15s
-
That's cause it's a mac with sh**ty internal components

Idk how much it really weight prob a little less than that but it's pretty heavy... two 40 lb woofers prob close to 70 lbs of mdf board and the amp... actually sounds pretty good tho. a lot better sound quality than I expected out of these subs. the sealed box prob helps a bit with the sq but still better than i thought they'd be
